Chapter 47 busy and leisurely

on the cloud 林清玄 314Words 2018-03-18
My son and I sat under the big tree on the safety island of Ren'ai Road to feed the pigeons. The cool breeze pierced through the treetops, and the tree shadowed my mother-in-law. Even though it was a summer afternoon, she felt very cool. I said to my son, "It would be great if I could be as leisurely as a tree and let the cool wind blow all day long!" The son said, "Dad, you are wrong, the tree is actually very busy." "How to say?" The son said: "The roots of the tree have to go deep into the ground to absorb water; the leaves of the tree have to perform photosynthesis with sunlight; the whole tree has to continuously inhale carbon dioxide and spit out oxygen; the tree is very busy!"

I saw the pigeons on the ground pacing leisurely, thinking that the pigeons are actually looking for food, and they are also very busy. When I scatter the corn on the ground, the leisurely pigeons are busy. It occurred to me that if we have a laid-back mind, all busy things can be done with a laid-back attitude. If we want to make life leisurely, we must learn from trees, live deeply in people, carry out photosynthesis with sunlight, and constantly spit out oxygen to purify the world.
