Chapter 18 God and Holy

Thoughts on the Lake 钱穆 1919Words 2018-03-18
God and Holy A person's life is always dissatisfied with his reality, and always exceeds his reality and has no expectations. Therefore, it is inevitable that he will be dissatisfied with himself. There is generally not much difference between man and man's reality. If he is dissatisfied with himself, he must be dissatisfied with others at the same time.If you are dissatisfied with yourself and others, you will be dissatisfied with all human beings at the same time.Dissatisfied with the whole of human beings, but at the same time they cannot jump out of the whole of human beings, and have other hopes, so the so-called gods and saints appear in people's hearts.God and holiness are just a superhuman thought, but at the same time it is a desire that cannot be separated from life. Both gods and saints are superhuman beings who are not separated from human beings. But there are also differences in the middle.God is non-human, and sage is human.God is beyond the human world and invested in the human world, and the Holy Spirit is in the human world but transcends the human world. In other words, as far as man is concerned, God should be non-self, transcendent, and absolute. The sage is internal and relative, that is, it exists by itself. It is true that there have been saints in human life, but it is also true that there have been no gods.God is purely imaginary and purely theoretical, while God is empirical and practical.Even if there is some human imagination involved in it.But God anoints the actual experience of life on the basis of pure imagination, while the saints anoint some imagination on the basis of the actual experience of life. Therefore, holiness and god can also be said to be different in scores, and at the same time can be said to be different in nature. Some people imagine that man and God are one, and some people imagine that everyone can be Yao and Shun, and everyone can become a Buddha. The sage is the same as me, that is, the body is the Buddha, which is the theory of those who worship the sage.Chinese people are easy to accept Buddhism, this is also a karma.

God should be holistic, while saints should be humanistic. The Chinese often say that all things are one Tai Chi, and all things are one Tai Chi.The holy is the Taiji of things, and on the Taiji of things, a Taiji of all things is established. This is from man to heaven.Everything is Tai Chi, and this Tai Chi can also become a reality.God requires all things to be submerged in one Taiji, and all things lose their existence, but in fact, this Taiji, from the perspective of humanists, cannot help but become nothingness. Those who advocate pantheism can be said to have lowered the all-things-taiji into the all-things to form the thing-taiji.If this is the case, the wood, stone, rubble, and feces are rotten. Could it be that they are holy? If this is the case, even though God is absolute, pantheists regard God as equal.Although sage is relative, the theorists of advocacy have turned to believe that there is a hierarchy between saints and people.

God created both things and man, so man and things should have no status and no power before God.Saints are made by people themselves.People make themselves holy, regardless of whether they are good or evil, they all advocate this, so it is said that the theorists of the holy are humanistic. The ultimateism of the theory of adoration must say that everyone can be Yao and Shun, everyone can be Yu, and everyone can become a Buddha. At that time, it will be a holy world. But the Holy World is different from the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God must turn the present world back to the creator, while the Holy World is built on the present world, and it is still a present world. In other words, the kingdom of God is in the sky, and the holy world is in the earth. The Kingdom of God is in the past, and the Holy World is in the future. In other words, the kingdom of God is outside, and the holy world is within oneself.

God not only created human beings, but also created the entire universe.Human beings are of low status before gods, and the status of human beings in the natural world is not necessarily particularly great and important in the minds of theists. Therefore, a theist must pay attention to the world and everything other than human beings. Therefore, deism, pantheism, etc., are all the meanings that should be included in the topic of advocating theism. If so, theology turned around and embarked on the road of natural science. The holy is created and completed by human beings themselves, and the holy is fulfilled in the human society. The relationship between sanctity and all things in nature is sparse, and the relationship with human beings is close. Therefore, the eyes of the saint-worshiping theorists will inevitably be fixed in the humanistic circle.Primitive Buddhism was originally supposed to be a religion that prayed for birth, but if so, it still faces nature and still does not lose its enthusiasm for exploring nature. But as soon as Buddhism arrived in China, the implication of being born in the world faded away, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in Taixian's meditation became closer and closer to the saints in Chinese society.Turning their attention to the circle of people, the ultimate wish of Chinese eminent monks is actually to be a Chinese Western saint, that is, a new saint who lives in the circle of people and stays outside the human affairs. This became the Sinicization of Buddhism.Taoism is not holy and godless, but they want to be immortals born in this world.Immortals just want to jump out of the human world, but they don't want to jump out of the natural world. It seems that in the Chinese imagination, there seems to be no other world outside or above the natural world, and there seems to be no other thing like the existence of God.Therefore, the gods that Chinese society has always worshiped are actually transformed from humans into gods. The gods and celestial beings that Chinese people imagine are actually human beings!

Here we are going to talk about mysticism, Dasein is different from east to west.Eastern mysticism is especially in its way of observing the mind, which makes the mind submerged and directly reaches the absolute realm, obliterating the ego's mental image, so that all things in the universe can be brought into one's mind equally.Western mysticism is different. They take the omnipotent and infinite God as their object, abandon their personality, and ask God to come down, take themselves back to God, and enter the infinite. This is the difference between the two sides. Therefore, oriental mysticism only expands one's mind and eliminates the ego, while remaining within the human world.Western mysticism turns to another world beyond the whole world. In other words, Eastern mysticism relies on self-reliance to complete itself as a saint, while Western mysticism relies on external forces to obtain divinity.

In other words, the theist believes that there is another world above or outside this world, and the atheist believes that there is only one world. Therefore, since the evolution of theism, there has been a philosophical ontology, and the advocacy of the saints at most only talks about the existence of rationality in this world, but this rationality is still different from the ontology imagined by Westerners. In short, the interests of theists focus on the natural world other than human beings, and they are especially full of surreal ideal spirit. Those who worship the holiness take the humanities as the standard and talk about social realism. In the ideological world pervaded by western theology, it was not until Comte advocated humanism and the philosophy of reality after that that he gradually approached the spirit of the East.
