In the dark sky, stars are scattered there like chess pieces. The relatively violent wind whimpered at high places. There are not many pedestrians on the road, but they continue. When cars pass by, or when the wind falls, the road of Asfart will turn up a burst of yellow sand from time to time. It's when you don't feel hot in unlined clothes. The never-ending electric lights on both sides of the road were less radiant than in the previous midnight, and the doors of all the shops were closed. The two walked on the road in silence. The one in the back was wearing a half-worn linen western suit, and the one in the front was wearing an unfashionable white silk gown. The two of them used to be friends, the one in western clothes was on his way home from a visit to a fellow countryman, the one in long gown was returning from a comrade who was about to go to America, they met by chance on the road, and both were unemployed.

"Where are you going?" After walking for a while, the man in western clothes asked the man in long gown. The man in the long gown didn't reply, he walked silently for a while without turning his head, and asked the man in the foreign suit: "Are you going up there?" The man in western clothes didn't answer, and walked along the tram line silently. The two of them were walking to a stop of a tram, and the next tram back to the garage came. The man in the long gown stood up and paused, waiting for the man in the western suit behind him. When the man in the western clothes walked slowly to the side of the man in the long gown, the stopped tram started out again.

"Why don't you take this tram back?" The person in the long gown asked the person in the western clothes. The man in the western clothes didn't answer, but walked forward slowly without stopping, and the man in the long gown followed behind. The two came to a three-way intersection. The man in the western clothes stood up and paused. The person in the long gown approached the person in the foreign suit, but continued to move forward slowly without stopping. The man in western clothes followed and asked: "Why don't you go back through this fork?" The two walked forward silently, their shadows gradually moved away from the intersection and became smaller; after a while, their shadows were completely engulfed by the night air.At the intersection of the three forks, the wind fell, and a burst of yellow sand was turned. The more violent wind whimpered high above. As soon as the car came, there was another burst of yellow sand at the intersection of the three forks. It was the night of the beginning of autumn.
