41. Don’t exaggerate It is unwise to use hyperbole.Such language is both false and casts doubt on your judgment.Exaggerating your words is tantamount to throwing praise words around, which reveals your lack of knowledge and bad taste.Praise begets curiosity, and curiosity begets desire.Later, when people find out that you have exaggerated, they will often feel that their original expectations have been fooled, so they will have a revenge mentality, and trample the praiser and the praiseee down.So a prudent man knows temperance, and it is better to understate than to exaggerate.True excellence is rare, so you shouldn't give it too much praise.Exaggeration is tantamount to lying, and may ruin the impression that others think of your good taste, or even your reputation as a man of wisdom.

42.born to be king Being born with the ability to rule people is a kind of transcendent mysterious power. This power does not come from artificial painstaking efforts, but from the nature of being born as a king. For such a person, everyone will surrender inexplicably, acknowledging his mysterious power and natural authority. This kind of person has a noble spirit, his talent and virtue can make him a king, and his luck can make him a lion king. They are awe-inspiring and convincing. If they have any other gifts, they are born political men. What others have to use a long speech to solve the problem, they often only need to make an understatement gesture and you are done.

43.Follow the elite, follow the public Going against the tide is hard to find truth and dangerous.Only Socrates dared to take such a risk.Thinking you have a different opinion is insulting because it means you are announcing that the other person's opinion is wrong. When someone is criticized, or someone praises someone, in either case, many people are offended.Truth belongs to the few.Fraud is despicable but common. You can hardly tell if someone is wise by what they say in public. They often don't tell the truth, but are just kitsch and stupid, but they also hate this kind of duplicity in private.A sensible person avoids being contradicted, and avoids contradicting others. He may have been quick to criticize, but he did not do so easily in public.People's emotions are free and cannot and should not be violated. They are silent in the heart, and they will never be exposed unless they meet some reasonable people.

44.Connect with great people Heroes have the gift of being able to get along with other heroes. This ability of heroes to cherish heroes can be said to be one of the wonders of the world, because it is both mysterious and beneficial. There are similar souls and temperaments in the world, and the effect of their heart-to-heart connection is almost the same as that of the panacea in the minds of the worldly people. This sympathetic sympathy not only brings us fame, but it also attracts the hearts of others and wins us their goodwill very quickly. This is the ability to speak eloquently without words, to achieve greatness without merit. There are two types of empathy, positive and negative. In high places, both of these things can work wonders. It takes great skill to understand them, to distinguish them, and to exploit them. The benefits of this singular ability are no substitute for ordinary effort.

45.Hidden intent can be exploited but not abused Hidden intentions can be exploited, but not abused, especially not revealed. All intellects must be concealed, because they invite suspicion; and even more so with hidden intentions, because they invite hatred.Fraud is very common, so it's important to be on your guard. But you can't let people know your defensive psychology, otherwise it may make people mistrust you.If people know that you are defensive, they will feel that they have been hurt, and they will seek revenge and cause unexpected disasters.Think twice about everything, and you will always benefit a lot.It is best to reflect on this matter.Whether an action can be completed to the extreme depends on the comprehensiveness of the means to realize the action.

46.control your aversions We instinctively hate certain people, even before we are aware of their virtues.Sometimes this base, involuntary antipathy is directed at certain eminent persons. This kind of emotion should be carefully controlled, and the disgust of outstanding people is the most detrimental to one's personality. There is nothing more admirable to be at peace with heroes than it is very disgraceful to treat them with antipathy. 47.Risky business should not be easily intervened This is the essence of prudence.A man of great talent always avoids going to extremes. There is a long way to go from one extreme to the other, and the prudent always choose the middle ground. They act only after long and careful deliberation, for it is easier to avoid danger beforehand than to overcome it at the moment of distress.Dangerous situations make our judgments insecure, so the safe course is to get rid of them altogether. One danger often leads to another, greater danger, which finally brings us to the brink of catastrophe. There are those who, by virtue of their temperament or their race, are naturally reckless, and they are prone to trouble, and as a result put others in danger. But a sober-minded person is good at judging the situation, and they understand that true bravery consists in avoiding danger, not in conquering it.They understand the foolishness of common man's bravery, so they don't want to repeat the same mistakes.

48.be a real thoughtful person Just as a diamond is buried deep, what is within is twice as important as what is on the surface. Some people are completely superficial, like a house whose facade is only finished due to insufficient construction funds. The entrance is as splendid as a palace, but the inner room is as simple as a hut.You will find no resting place in their houses, though they themselves are always resting, for once they have finished with you the polite words they have to say, there is nothing to do.Their first salutation was lively as Sicilian horses, and then they became as quiet as a monastery. If you want the words in your mouth to flow continuously, you must have a clear spring of wisdom bubbling at the back of your tongue.Such people are easy to fool those who see things superficially, but they cannot fool the sharp-eyed, because the sharp-eyed will see through them and know that their inner depths are actually empty.

49.see through, see through A person who sees through and judges accurately can control things without being controlled by things. He can penetrate the deepest things and find out the details of other people's talents. No matter who it is, he can understand and grasp its essence at a glance. He has a rare observation ability, and he can decipher any secret thing. His observation is rigorous, his thinking is subtle, and his reasoning is clear: there is nothing in the world that he cannot discover, pay attention to, grasp and understand. 50.don't lose your pride Don't lose your self-esteem, and don't be too casual with yourself.Let your own integrity make yourself always upright. You should be as strict as possible with yourself, and not rely on external rules and regulations.Avoid inappropriate words and deeds, not because of fear of others' judgment, but because of your own prudence and sincerity. If you can fear the ego, then there is no need for Seneca's so-called virtual witness (conscience).

①Virtual witness, that is conscience.Seneca's Letters of Morals. 51.Choose wisely Most things in life depend on your ability to choose. You must have good taste and sound judgment, not intelligence and exercise alone.Perfect results are impossible without discernment and proper choices. There are then two talents involved: the talent to choose and the talent to make the best choice. There are many, many men of great wisdom, of sound judgment, of industry, of knowledge, who are often defeated in matters of choice. They always pick the worst thing, as if deliberately showing their knack for making bad choices.Knowing how to choose is one of God's greatest gifts.

52.keep calm forever Prudent people always try to maintain self-control forever. This ability shows real character and mental strength, because a big-hearted person is not easily controlled by emotions.Passions are those whims of the mind which, in the slightest excess, can morbidly judge our judgment. If the disease spreads to the mouth, it will inevitably damage your reputation. You have to fully grasp yourself, so that no one will criticize you and say that you are emotionally unstable no matter when you are in a good time or a bad time.Everyone admires your excellence. 53.It takes both hard work and brains

Diligence hastens the realization of that which intellect hesitates.Fools like quick decisions: they ignore obstacles and act recklessly.Wise men often fail because of indecision.A fool is in a hurry to do everything; a wise man is hesitant to do everything.Sometimes things go wrong because of negligence or inefficiency, despite being right in judgment.Perseverance is the mother of luck.It is extremely important to do the things that need to be done immediately, not to delay until the next day. There is a wonderful saying: You must sneak away when you are busy, and you must be anxious when you are slow. 54.Make honey and bee stings work together Even a rabbit dares to stroke the beard of a dead lion.Courage, like things like love, is no joke.Once it has succumbed once, it will succumb again and again.Since the same difficulty will have to be overcome in the future anyway, it is better to solve it as soon as possible.Men are always braver in thought than in action. The same should be done with swords: scabbard carefully and ready for use. This is your weapon of self-defense.A weak mind is more dangerous than a weak body. Many persons of great character lack precisely this vitality, and they appear dead, surrounded by an air of lethargy. There is a wonderful arrangement in the dark: let honey and bee stings work together. You have guts and bones in you: don't let your spirit be soft. 55.know how to wait Those who know how to wait have deep stamina and a big heart.Never act too hastily, and never be swayed by emotion. Those who can control themselves can control others.Travel through the space of time before reaching the heart of opportunity.Wise hesitancy makes success more secure, and secret matters may at last blossom and bear fruit. The crutch of time is more effective than the iron rod of Hercules.God punishes people not with steely hands, but with dragging legsAs the saying goes: "As long as you give me time, I'll take two for one." double the reward. 56.thinking while doing A happy and ready mind produces good impulses. To such a mind there are no places in tension, no nasty accidents, just life and vitality. Some people think a lot, but they do everything wrong; others have no vision, but they do everything smoothly. Some people have a strong ability to resist adversity, and the greater the difficulty, the better their ability will be.They are all eccentrics, whose success seems to come naturally, and when they worry about it, they will encounter obstacles instead. If they didn't think about it then, they never thought about it afterwards, and it's no use even if they thought about it on purpose.Dexterity wins plaudits because it shows something of genius: subtlety of thought, delicacy of action. 57.Those who are far-sighted are less perilous To do something really well is to do it fast.If you only want to succeed quickly, you will fail quickly. Those who can survive for a long time will take a long time to make it.Only true perfection can be noticed, only true success can last forever.Deep understanding can gain eternal meaning.Great value requires great engineering. The same is true even of metals: the most precious are the most painstakingly refined, and therefore the heaviest. 58.Be flexible with those around you Don't show the same intelligence to everyone; make as much effort as it takes.Do not waste your knowledge and talents in vain.A good falconer keeps only those hawks he needs. You don't need to show your talents in the sky, otherwise, it won't be long before people will no longer think you have anything special. So you always have to save some tricks. If you can show a little bit of fresh talent regularly, people will always have expectations of you, not knowing how deep and wide your talent really is. 59.good ending When you visit the House of Destiny, if you enter by the gate of joy, you will exit by the gate of sorrow; if you enter by the gate of sorrow, you will exit by the gate of joy.So you have to be careful with the end of things. It is better to end with success and happiness than to have a good start. Lucky people often have a good start and a miserable end. What really matters is not the applause when you arrive - which is common - but the memory of you when you're gone.If you can make people expect you to come again after you go, then you are really a great person.Rarely does good fortune accompany you all the way to the gate. She (good luck-translator's note) always greets you with a smile when you come, and is frosty when you go. 60.good judgment Some people are born cautious, and he enters into life with the inherent virtue of good judgment. This is an innate wisdom that makes them halfway through the road of success before they start. With the growth of age and experience, their reason reaches full maturity, which can make their judgment adapt to the situation and the right and left.Such a person abhors any whimsy that may tempt a prudent mind, especially in matters of state, where infallibility is essential. If a boat is used as a metaphor for a country, this kind of person can preside over the grand plan of the voyage, even if he is not steering the helm himself, he should also be the teacher of the helmsman.
