That green shocked me. It was a Chinese pagoda tree as thick as a human leg by the moat. Because a crane driving to a nearby construction site did not travel properly, it was knocked off from the branch.I always walk past it every day, and it was hit at the end of winter, and I happened to witness that thrilling scene from afar.It was a very cold day, and when I approached, I saw the sap oozing from the broken part, like tears, but before it flowed down, it froze on the bark, making my heart palpitate and short of breath.I think it must not survive.but the green team didn't poach it afterwards

stumps. After the beginning of spring, the surrounding trees all turn green again, but it still stands silently.Unexpectedly, one day in late spring, I suddenly discovered that a few green branches sprang out from the stump, which was surprising.I will visit again in a few days, ah, it has sprouted more new branches, the proportion of those new branches and the piles below is very uncoordinated, it seems that it can’t wait to stretch slowly, so it is struggling to rise, thin and straight , the tip wished to pierce the clouds and skyscrapers, and tender feathery leaves sprouted on both sides... In early summer, the height of its top branches was almost the same as the lush crown of the first year. I looked around it, only to see I feel my soul is recharging.

This is of course not such a rare sight.I remember that more than 30 years ago, after a heavy thunderstorm, half of an ancient willow by the Shichahai Sea was chopped off, but the remaining half of it, with its green branches tenaciously, continued to fight for its life, and once gave a gift to the people living nearby. In my great depression, I was greatly encouraged and became one of the spiritual nourishments that supported me through those unrecognizable and ridiculous years.Later, I repeatedly used watercolor and oil painting to depict the heroic appearance of the half of the ancient willow. Unfortunately, my painting skills are not good, so I can only show its appearance but not convey its essence. In the period of reform and opening up, I have seen paintings with similar materials in large-scale art exhibitions; later, I had the opportunity to visit various art museums abroad, and found that from ancient times to the present, artists of different nationalities, with various styles , have all created works in which broken plants sprout new branches and new shoots. This makes me firmly believe that although there are some concepts that are difficult to agree among different nations, religions, and cultures, the entire human race is connected in some of the most basic emotions, thinking, and demands.

Recently, I often get close to Feng Zikai's cartoons. Among them is a plain ink painting written by him in 1938 with four lines of poems: "The big tree is cut down, and the vitality is not endless. When the spring comes, it twitches, and the weather is so vigorous." The size of this painting is extremely small, the materials used are extremely simple, and the composition is even more uncomplicated, but it is the one with the most charm and the most vivid imagination among so many similar themes I have seen.Yes, whether it is a natural disaster like a violent storm or a man-made accident like a crane crash, the stumps that have been hit hard will "twitch in spring", reappearing a vigorous atmosphere, proclaiming the invincible inner life of a good and beautiful life that surpasses evil and disasters Power; the word "anger" in Feng Zikai's poem and the sense of "anger" reflected in his ink-painted branches are like the finishing touch, which makes my already rich thoughts suddenly rise to a new height .

When I was walking today, I went to look at the revived locust tree by the moat again. My eyes lit up. Apart from its original factors that moved me, I found that the green of its new branches and leaves seems to be something that can be refined independently. The existence that comes out, that green, is an extraordinary green, if you have to name it, it can only be called angry green!Yes, Angry Green! That green makes me admire.
