Chapter 12 The eleventh chapter welcomes the spring. The spring is not self-sufficient, and the flowers and flowers are fragrant.

Go to Chongqing for a week, hold meetings, meet friends, chat, drink and drink tea. I just returned to Chengdu, and went to participate in the award ceremony and related activities of the 8th Chinese Media Literary Award, in Huadao, Sancha Lake, tens of kilometers away from Chengdu. It is still a meeting, meeting friends in the same industry, chatting, drinking and drinking tea.As for Shanghua Island, I also brought my camera. I didn’t want to see the continuous rain for two consecutive days. The water on the island and the lake around the island was like smoke.Even if it is a sunny day with good light, there is not much to photograph. On this island, a few cherry blossoms have come to an end, and the peach blossoms have all withered. The purple new leaves of the trees are shining in the rain, not their own light, but the water.Only on a high bank near the lake, there is a paulownia tree blooming with flowers. On the cherry tree, clusters of green fruits stick out from the axils of the leaves and look out.

Although the city of Chengdu has flowers gradually blooming throughout the year, the huge flower event in spring and March is indeed coming to an end, and the summer with the vast and boundless green as the main theme is coming. In the words of my wife: "When it comes to April, it seems to be quiet all at once." Back in Chengdu, it was still raining, Strelitzia and Michelle bloomed in the garden downstairs. In many parts of the city, the pink roses that used for the fences and the white hesperia that covered the pergola were also in bloom. However, more and more eye-catching is the new green of the plants.Except for a very few types of deciduous trees—such as Sophora japonica—all are covered with dense green, and the evergreen vegetation has sprouted new shoots and new leaves. Although there is still a slight chill in the rain, but Spring, as I keep leaving the city, has not yet fully experienced it, and it is indeed coming to an end.I have lived in this city for more than ten years, but I have never seriously observed its spring. Now I want to taste it deeply, but because of my haste, I have to wait for the next year for more in-depth and detailed experience. This is also a feeling of staying in spring and cherishing spring, right? But it is very different from the ancients' state of mind of "cherishing the long spring and fearing that the flowers will bloom early".I am a person who is willing to live a slow life, and it is difficult for me to stay fully in one place and one season like the ancients. So much so that I want to take a good look at the flower letters of this city, but because of various affairs and obligations, I let myself fall behind the flowers of this city.

So much so that writing about welcoming the spring today is in the nature of supplementary notes.I checked the picture library on the computer, and the first time I saw the early spring blooming was on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month (February 28), and the location was on the embankment under the Sanhua Building in Baihuatan Park.At that time, the branches hanging down from the high places have awakened, and the stiffness and dryness in winter have become soft and moist, and those dazzling yellow flowers bloom close to the light green branches. That day, I also met Ditang, whose double petals bloomed early and were so complicated that the stamens could not be seen.I thought it was also a winter jasmine, a jasmine that had been artificially bred.So there is also a basis for thinking so. Many flowers, such as cherry blossoms and camellias, are artificially selected and cultivated, making the simple and beautiful flowers complicated.

On March 17, on both sides of the Shahe River in the east of the city, which has been renovated and become beautiful and pleasant in recent years, I went to see the winter jasmine blooming along the river, and saw the ditang in the same habitat as the winter jasmine. The wide and beautiful leaves of Yingchun, with clear and clear veins, I just knew it was not Yingchun. After checking the flora, I found out that it was Ditang. It's just that it has the same flowering period as Yingchun, the same slender and drooping branches, and likes to grow in clusters on wet river banks. Moreover, from a distance, the clustered Ditang flowers are denser than those of Yingchun, and the clusters of bright yellow are more dazzling in the sun than Yingchun.I don't know what the shape of the real wild Ditang flower is, but compared with the winter jasmine, I don't like this kind of flower whose petals are so complicated that they cover the pistil and make a flower lose its basic shape. The same is true of these ditangs. When you look closely, you can see that the whole flower is like a mass of crumpled and bundled thin silk, which cannot show the various botanical and aesthetic compositions of a flower, and these constituent elements are wonderfully natural. The combination. It is precisely for this reason that this spring, I wanted to pat the camellia several times, but finally gave up.At least in this city, the camellias everywhere are like this, a bunch of wrinkled petals tightly packed together, dotted on the branches, lifeless and without beauty.Compared with the two, I still like Ditang, at least they can decorate a river so brightly, although it is not suitable for close viewing.

The Spring Festival is different. There are many changes in the rules of the five-lobed petals. Near the center of the yellow corolla, dark red light-striped rings are arranged at the entrance of the deep passage leading to the ovary. In the middle, it is more bright yellow. The stamens, and those tiny stamens, will bloom again when they are sexually mature, like the flowers that support them. There are indeed multiple petals, but they are not so complicated that they cannot be added. I think of two books that teach people how to view flowers recently.A book written by a foreigner said that some auxiliary tools are needed when viewing flowers, the most important of which is a magnifying glass, which is used to carefully observe the delicate details of flowers, especially the core part composed of filaments, anthers, stigmas and ovaries .I also think of my favorite picture of an American naturalist with a Marxian beard, examining a wildflower with a magnifying glass. The one in my country didn't say this, but told people in detail what kind of clothes to wear—that is, the head-to-toe outfit for outdoor sports enthusiasts. It indirectly shows that among Chinese people, viewing flowers, an activity close to nature, must be labeled as fashionable in order to be recognized by more people.

On April 18, I went to the Panda Base in the north of the city to meet people, and by the way, I went for a walk in the forest and saw many winter jasmines in full bloom. In fact, the above three days are the days when photos were left.Walking in the city during that time, I saw Yingchun almost everywhere. The most prosperous place, besides the river bank and lakeside, is another place where the ingenuity of the city administrators can be seen. That is, on the overpasses everywhere, on both sides of the railings, there are densely placed winter jasmines. They come out from high places obliquely, or hang down, and the long branches are covered with dense yellow flowers. If there is another sunny day on the car bridge, the mood is really light and bright.
