Chapter 4 In the third chapter, Begonia sticks a stem and steals three parts of the pistil, and borrows a ray of soul from the plum blossom.

two weeks ago.Sunday.Beside Wangjiang Tower. Suddenly there were more than a dozen egrets on the river, circling for a while, and landed on the river one after another.Only then did I notice that the river water was quite different from before. The water swelled up slightly, and it could be seen that it was flowing, washing away the sewage that had accumulated for a long time and contained too many unhealthy ingredients in this city.In such a situation, the sky must have looked happy, and the face that had been cloudy for a winter gradually became brighter, and the warm sunshine sprinkled down.Sprinkle it on the body to warm the body and mind; sprinkle it around to brighten the eyes. This is what spring means. The river water is still turbid, but it is no longer the dark green that is about to rot, but the muddy yellow from the soil in the mountains, and it exudes the sober atmosphere of the thawed rural land.

So, the egrets also flew in groups. I thought, this is seeing spring. Moreover, I wanted to see more spring, so I went into Wangjianglou Park to see the numerous bamboos there.Do you want to see the bamboo shoots protruding from the ground? In terms of timing, it is too early. However, since I smell the breath of spring, I probably have such a hope in my heart.Naturally, the bamboo shoots were not seen, but the buds of a crabapple bloomed, sparse but bright red.Is it the first branch the city is poised to open? I went to see a doctor at West China Hospital in a few days, and saw that almost all the thin, hard and vigorous branches of crabapple in the hospital were full of flower buds waiting to bloom.I remembered that when I was hospitalized here earlier, the wintersweet here had all withered, while the wintersweet elsewhere were blooming one after another. So I sat in front of the flowers for a while, thinking about this question. And feel like I've figured it out.Today's hospital is a busier place than the market. The reason for the early flowering is that there are so many people surrounding the building that emits heat day and night in this courtyard, and the cars in the parking lot under the entire courtyard jointly make this place The place becomes a heat island.

Afterwards, when passing through the city, I have to look around to see how the news of spring is revealed on those crabapple trees with the most twisted branches and the blackest as iron. The trees are silent. There are many begonias in the courtyard, by the river, in the park, and on the median strip in the middle of the busy street. In this city nicknamed "Rong", the number of crabapple far exceeds that of hibiscus. Is it a change just now? After consulting relevant information, I know that at least in the Tang Dynasty, there were many crabapples in this city. This is evidenced by the poem "Begonia" written by Jia Dao, a Tang Dynasty native who was unwilling to be relegated to Sichuan as a petty official:

In the past, tourists talked about Fangfei, and there were tens of thousands of branches on the Zhuojin River. The meaning is roughly that, I heard that this Jinguan City has a lot of flowers before, and today I saw tens of thousands of Begonia trees blooming beside the Jinjiang River.Poet Jia came to Chengdu just passing by.This Hebei native is going down to become a petty official.I went to Pengxi County, which is a two-hour drive on the expressway today, and later, to Anyue County today. I don’t know which time I passed by, and I saw the magnificent scene of crabapple flowers blooming. But the season should be exact, it is this cold spring in February.

There is a Song poem that exactly answers two questions. One is whether this crabapple is native to Chengdu.Another is its flowering season. Thousands of miles away from Minshu, the crabapple flowers are alone. Thousands of plants in the beautiful country, a sunny day in February. The book says that among the twenty-four flowers in spring, the crabapple flowers should bloom at the vernal equinox. But in this city, the begonias were opened one after another at the end of January. February 4th, the beginning of spring. It was cloudy yesterday. When I got up in the morning and saw the fog, I knew it was sunny today. This period of time is like this, yesterday was cloudy, today must be sunny, then tomorrow will be cloudy again. This has been evenly cloudy and sunny for almost ten days.Although the fog is heavy, and there is news that the highway is closed due to fog in the traffic information customized by the mobile phone, I still dare to conclude that the sun will definitely show its face today, so I put the camera in the back seat of the car and plan to go to the Fuhe River to watch it as soon as the sky is clear. crabapple.

As usual, there was a traffic jam, and as usual, I moved slowly with patience, and saw sporadic red begonias blooming on the isolation belt. It's just a pity that the exhaust gas and dust are thick, and it doesn't look encouraging. When I arrived at the unit, I heard someone singing in the conference room on the eighth floor. It was a familiar voice performing at the unit party.Several voices followed.Due to the current situation, it was originally an occasion for drinking tea and talking, but it also imitated a TV variety show.Just as he was hesitating whether to go upstairs, he saw the fog dissipate, and the sun came through the gaps in the clouds and fell on this dusty day.The light pours down from the zenith, making the dark bright and the dark bright.Under this kind of light, exit the courtyard of the unit on the second section of Hongxing Road, go northward for several hundred meters to Xinhua Road, turn eastward to Mengzhui Bay, and you will be on the bank of Fuhe River. There are wide shade trees on both sides of the bank, walking through them, the noise of the bustling city is faint and forgotten, and you can see the slightly rising spring water again, and smell the increasingly distant rural atmosphere brought by the spring water. There is a bridge a few hundred meters above the river, and viewers can frequently go back and forth between the two banks.Going northwest along the river, between the fourth and fifth bridges, there are the most begonias in the city on both sides, and they may also be the most beautiful begonias.

Since last year, in order to avoid the afternoon rush hour traffic, after get off work, I would go for a walk along the river bank, look at the trees and flowers, and then drive home at eight or nine o’clock. At that time, I witnessed the scene of crabapple blooming here.In many places in the city, there are red begonias in the shape of trees. Here, among the red crabapple trees in full bloom, there are clusters of white crabapple. The red crabapple is a tall tree and blooms enthusiastically; the white crabapple is just a low and round clump, holding out demure and elegant white flowers. This kind of warmth and tranquility set off against each other is more meaningful and full than the all-red highness. The low-key white is more eye-catching than the high-key red.

It should be said that the plant arrangement on this section of the river is one of the most ingenious places in the city. Today, February 4th, is earlier than last year when we saw crabapples in full bloom, but there was a sliver of sunshine, and the word "beginning of spring" made my heart itch even more. Looking at the begonias that bloom early, I don't think the begonias have already bloomed, and the trees are as crimson as red clouds.I saw many bees rushing among the flowers and among the blooming crabapple trees, but I didn't smell the fragrance of the flowers. The flying of bees makes people seem to smell the fragrance of flowers. These bees are really greedy. As soon as they landed on the flower, they didn't pose for me to take a picture, and then plunged into the stamen. The lower body is tilted between the petals to make the picture ugly.A few days ago, when the red plum blossoms were open, I thought I would see bees, but I didn't see any.On this day, I went to see a red plum that was still in full bloom nearby, and there were no bees on it.

So, I turned around and continued to shoot my begonias.I took a picture of a sign and named this dense begonia place "Yingyan Garden".Neither good nor bad.The idea of building this garden is good: "Chengdu is very rich in the cultivation of crabapple, and it is famous since ancient times", so this garden was built to "express the theme of the spring beauty of crabapple".These words are written on that sign. But the scene of the crabapple blossoms was lively, but it was far from being summed up by the word "yan".Gorgeousness is the overall effect of the flowers clustered on the branches. When you get closer, you can see that each flower has five single petals, which are not as thin as silk, but have a rich, bright color and calm texture like silk. Not to mention that the crabapple flowers bloom directly on the thin, dark, twisted branches, as if showing some kind of miracle of life (life itself is a variety of miracles), and the branches are not very sharp but very hard. The thorns make people not get too close to those flowers.

Therefore, it is speculated that the begonias chanted in many ancient poems are not this kind of begonias.Yu Meiren's sleepy Begonia in the allusion "Begonia Spring Sleep" is not this kind of Begonia. It's not the kind that is called iron-footed crabapple in the folk, but it's called sticking stem crabapple in plant books. In the Grand View Garden, the ladies in the Grand View Garden chanted the poems about begonias. Judging from the characters depicted and the emotions aroused, most of them are not this kind of begonias. There is only one couplet in Lin Daiyu's poem, which is chanted like the crabapple at present.Of course it's not red crabapple, but white crabapple. This time, the reason why Jia Baoyu got two pots of white begonias is because Jia Baoyu got two pots of begonias.Only Lin Daiyu cantly chanted the wonderful line "Three points of the pear pistil are stolen, and a ray of the plum blossom's soul is borrowed", which is like a spiritual portrayal of the white crabapple blooming in the red crabapple bushes before her eyes.

At this time, the red begonias are in full bloom, and most of the white begonias are still buds with blue-green sepals. Only when the buds open, the pure white will unfold, silent and glamorous. I personally remember that no matter white or yellow, no matter how tall or short the plant is, this kind of flower that blooms directly on the thin, black, strong and thorny branches, with a single petal and five pieces surrounded by a group of yellow stamens, is called sticking crabapple.Rosaceae Papaya. This kind of crabapple is an aborigine in central Sichuan, and it has existed for hundreds of thousands of years in this land before humans realized the beauty of flowers and called it crabapple. I can also make a note. When I sat under the tree and looked at the flowers, I saw a faint blue star flickering on the ground under my feet from the corner of my eye. When I looked carefully, it turned out that the mother-in-law with flowers that did not expand more than half a centimeter also quietly emerged , affixed to open. 2010.2.9
