Chapter 12 accident during the trip

We made an appointment to see the morning classes at Langmusi, so Guan Yuan and I gave up sleeping in.At five o'clock in the morning, the sky was already bright, and Sensen Yuanyuan jumped up and down between us restlessly, clamoring to go out to play. The condensed dew has not dissipated, we have already climbed halfway up the mountain, and the corners and cornices of the houses are still sleepy.I pressed the shutter excitedly, and suddenly, I felt an unbearable pain in my abdomen. I squatted at the intersection with my stomach covered, unable to take a step out.Seeing that Guan Yuan had already walked ten meters away, I didn't have the energy to call her.

Fortunately, Guan Yuan is a very careful woman, she turns her head to look at me every few steps.I heard her footsteps getting closer, and asked eagerly, "Xiu, what's wrong with you?" She squatted down, trying to help me up.My body was too heavy to exert myself.Guan Yuan helped me to the side of the road and sat down on a newspaper for me.The newspapers she carried with her were used by her to pick up Sensen Yuanyuan's poop. She said, "You rest here for a while, and I'll go find hot water." Sitting alone on the hillside of Langmusi Temple in the early morning, I remembered that I signed up for an outdoor team at the age of nineteen and went hiking. The group of boys said contemptuously: "This time I am hiking on the Lijiang River. The road is not bad, otherwise it is not good. I will bring girls. When I go out, girls have a lot of troubles, and they can’t be hungry or thirsty, so they often have to help with backpacks and pull people.” That time, I insisted on carrying my own backpack and walked all the way to the end. Many buddies completed the last section of the journey by car, and there were only three or four companions left. As the youngest member of the team, I gritted my teeth and persisted.Later, when I posted travel notes on the forum, they all praised me as a good outdoor partner, and I was very happy at that time.

Although thinking about some proud past events in my heart can distract my attention, the cold air in the morning is still blowing unscrupulously, and the pain has not improved. Guan Yuan hurried to my side, helped me up with difficulty, and said: "There is a small shop next to the temple. They are heating hot water. The hut can shelter from the wind. Go there and rest for a while." This is a simple small shop with some daily necessities and hot water bottles. The light in the house is very dark. The lama in red took out a stool and put it next to the container for me to sit on.Guan Yuan bought a hot water bottle. After the water was boiled, the lama filled it for me.Guan Yuan bought two more pairs of socks for me to wear. The stock here is very patchy, and the socks are an ugly mud-gray.After I put it on, I put the hot water bottle on my abdomen, felt a warm current melt the coldness in my body, and gradually regained my senses, then looked at Guan Yuan embarrassedly, and smiled apologetically.I said: "You go to play first, I will find you when I feel better."

After Guan Yuan left, I felt drowsy and groggy, as if I had fallen asleep. When I woke up, I was covered with a thick cloth that I don’t know what it was. A lama in red sat not far away, seeing that I woke up, and smiled. I handed him back the thick cloth I was wearing and asked, "Why do you want to be a lama?" The young lama was a little shy, and he said in Chinese with difficulty: "In our place, all children become lamas. It is glorious." At this time, there was a commotion outside the door.I saw Yuan Yuan running to the door, shaking, and then disappeared.Guan Yuan came in and asked if I felt better?I nod.She took me outside the door to play.

It turned out that the little lamas were out of class. When they saw Sensen Yuanyuan, they happily surrounded and caught them and teased them.Big chunks of red are flying in front of my eyes, and two small white balls are rolling around. At first, the little lamas were still a little reserved, pointing at Sensen Yuanyuan, but they didn't dare to touch him.Later, a little lama with hair sticking to his scalp let go of his courage and hugged Sensen's head.Seeing that Sensen didn't resist, the others became excited and wanted to touch these two little white fluffy things. Along the way, Sensen Yuanyuan really got a lot of light.Because of them, the residents of the town took the initiative to get close to us, and because of them, the guards at the checkpoint never made things difficult for us.

After a while, the bell rang, and the young lamas walked towards the temple one after another. Guan Yuan and I continued to climb to the top of the hill, where we could have a panoramic view of the small town of Langmusi. When the sun comes out, many elderly people who have completed their prayers are sitting at the door of the roadside drinking tea and chatting. Langmusi is not as prosperous as Labrang Monastery, but it has peace that is not found in other places. Along the way down, we wandered around and found an open iron gate not far away, so we sneaked in tacitly. There are mighty pillars supporting the eaves in the courtyard, and beside the pillars, many boots are crooked.I approached the gate lightly, and found that there were rows of young lamas sitting in the dimly lit hall. There were quite a few of them! The lamas in the school, like all children in the world, are extremely curious about unknown things. They were the same as when we were studying. They talked small things in class. As soon as the teacher approached, they immediately sat up straight and read aloud.

Guan Yuan and I covered our mouths to hold back our laughter, and slipped out through the side door next to us. When we went out, we ran into an old lama wearing a yellow hat. We bowed our heads and stepped aside as if we had done something wrong. The old lama smiled kindly, pointed at Sensen Yuanyuan and asked, "You brought this?" Guan Yuan and I nodded quickly. He lowered his head and stroked Sensen's head, strange!Sensen didn't dodge at all, standing shoulder to shoulder with the old lama, looking up at us. Guan Yuan and I asked, "Why are there so many students here?"

With a slight smile, the old lama said to us: "One of the three Buddha statues in the temple is the body of a living Buddha." Following his fingers, we saw a body wearing a golden mask, sitting cross-legged, as if into meditation. In the process of chatting with the old lamas, we learned that they used the donations of pilgrims to set up a primary school, and the lamas were teachers. Some children's families are very difficult. After graduating from the compulsory Lama Primary School, they cannot continue to study in junior high school. Seeing our faces sinking into seriousness, the old lama changed the subject. He introduced us to Fairy Canyon in Sichuan. It is said that it is the birthplace of the Bailong River, and Tibetans believe that it is a place of spirituality. It is necessary to go to the highest point of Langmusi in Sichuan, and then go southwest. It was originally the site chosen by Langmusi for the construction of the temple, and the blue sky can be seen between the peaks.Walking along the canyon, you can see a cave with prayer flags floating there. There is only a faint light of a butter lamp in the cave. It is very humid inside and you have to half kneel to enter. At the end of the canyon, there is a glacier.

Guan Yuan and I looked at each other for a few seconds, and felt that there was nothing to see in such a place, and I didn't know what special meaning it had for them. The old lama also invited us to play at his house. He pointed to a place down the mountain and said, "It's there!" We thanked him for his kindness and donated 100 yuan before leaving, hoping to add some stationery to the children. The old lama refused to accept anything. He said that there is no record book now, and the name of the incense money must be recorded so that we can pray for us. Before I came to Gannan Tibet, I saw an article on the Internet. The poster said that a monk took him into a house, where he saw an amazing mandala sand painting.

I feel very sorry that I did not meet the person who invited us to see the painting. Later, I searched the Internet and searched for information, so I will tell you about it here. This is the most unique and exquisite religious art in Tibetan Buddhism.Mandala originated from Tantric Buddhism in India. It was spread to Tibet in the 11th century and has been preserved to this day.Whenever there are large-scale rituals, the lamas will use millions of sand and gravel to make a three-dimensional Buddhist picture scroll. This kind of painting, after painstaking creation, will be swept away without hesitation, and the fine sand will be bottled and poured into the river.

Mandala sand painting is called "dul-tson-kyil-khor" in Tibetan, which means "color powder mandala".The bustling world is just a handful of fine sand.Since Buddha himself taught his disciples to make sand mandala more than 2,500 years ago, this exquisite religious art has been passed down from generation to generation without interruption. According to Buddhist scriptures, when Indian Esoteric Buddhism practiced the Dharma, an earthen altar was built to prevent the invasion of "demons" from heretics, and Buddha statues were placed on it.Later, the altar and the demarcated boundary set up during the practice were called the mandala or mandala. The mandala is a symbol of "rule".Severe weather, physical disease, desolate land, barbarian people, heathen country, these are "chaos". By building a mandala, "chaos" can be turned into "rule".Thus, a mandala can represent all real or imagined things: a human body, a temple, a palace, a city, a continent, a thought, a vision, a political structure. This idea leaves me empty.I have to say that as a Chinese, many Buddhist teachings will dispel delusions, and unconsciously, the state of mind will become clear and dust-free.
