Home Categories war military I'm back from the battlefield

Chapter 3 preface

I'm a photojournalist, and traditionally I'm not supposed to write articles.During the Gulf War, due to the many restrictions on photography and interviews imposed by wartime laws and regulations, I was forced to live alone in a tiger’s den. I had to find another way to use a pen while taking pictures, developing, enlarging, and faxing. Unexpectedly, I was praised by the editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency , Thousands of readers welcome and become riding a tiger. In fact, my writing is very stinky, but it just represents that 1.2 billion Chinese people have arrived at the right place at the right time, and occasionally made a noise to shock the world. If it weren't for the Xinhua News Agency's photography department to keep kicking my ass, I would never have been able to lie on the engine of the Jeep Feng, squatting on the knees during the long-distance interview journey, and concocting the Battlefield Feihong one by one.

Because of my Spartan health, simple life, and open mind, before the outbreak of the Gulf War, I was selected as a "paratrooper" for Xinhua News Agency's cross-border operations and sent to Baghdad alone. Since then, I have become the Chinese who has set foot in the most countries during the war. It's a pity that I'm dull, so I have to devote all my energy to the war and have no time for others.I have been to Iraq without visiting the Hanging Gardens, I have been to Israel without visiting Bethlehem, I have been to Jordan without swimming in the Dead Sea, and I have been to Egypt but I don’t know what the pyramids are... To comfort myself, as the last group of Chinese who left Iraq, I insist on Use "Xinhua News Agency Baghdad" to send the news to the last moment, so that my country will know what happened there in time.

After kissing the cheeks with the Iraqi Republican Guards, I put on a paper Jewish hat and huddled side by side with the Israel Defense Forces behind the "Patriot" position and waited for the "Scud", thus being lucky to be on both sides of the war and with the old enemy at this time The only one who ate and drank together, also became the first Chinese in history to use Tel Aviv, Israel, to send a manuscript. Back in Beijing, Mr. Xiao Qian, the only veteran journalist in my country who participated in the field interviews in the European theater of World War II, encouraged me to expand my wartime passion into a small book. But I was born with a pointy ass that couldn't sit still, and I was discouraged after three days of working. The point is that I have lost my wartime excitement.I know very well that only in the face of death can a person show extraordinary qualities and abilities.Sitting in front of the lamp, the memories of the past are extremely wonderful: blood and sweat, dreams, death, honor... The night is getting deeper, and I am waiting in vain for the military order to go to the front line day after day.

Thanks to a group of friends who forced me hard and softly, after several additions and deletions, this homework that is more torturous than fighting a war has been completed, so that I, a witness of the battle of the century, can share what I saw, heard, touched, and felt personally. Seemingly generous to take out and share with more people.I don't want this book to be a huge work with both annotations and indexes. I just want to dedicate my unadulterated stuff to everyone honestly, so as to be worthy of the history I have experienced. , and thank my classmates, colleagues and friends who have helped me.
