Chapter 8 Armament Manufacturing Capabilities: It's Like Another World

The war between the two countries, on the surface, is a confrontation between the two armies, but in fact it is a fight for national strength, the production capacity of modern manufacturing, and even more so, the production capacity of military equipment. The Soviet Union's victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War and the United States' victory over Japan in World War II were actually the result of strong military equipment production capabilities. When New China was just established, there was no modern weapons and equipment industry at all, and no modern logistics support capabilities. It could only produce some hand grenades and simple guns. Complex guns, cannons, and cars were mainly provided by the Soviet Union.

The industrial base of the United States, especially the arms industry, is too strong. Airplanes and cannons can be produced continuously in a short period of time, almost as much as is needed. Therefore, China hardly has the industrial and technical conditions to support such a large modernization war. And the United States has almost all of them.
