Second Field Army 王玉彬 15477Words 2018-03-18
August to September 1947 Xuzhou Lingbao Dabie Mountains in Northern Shaanxi "I'm not sick!" A roar came from the cave where Mao Zedong lived. Ren Bishi was walking towards the cave when he heard Ji hurried into the house. Mao Zedong was furious, his face and neck flushed. The healthcare doctor held the medicine in his hand, and stood aside feeling aggrieved and at a loss. Ren Bishi took off his glasses and wiped them, signaling the doctor to leave quietly. "Comrade Shi Lin," Mao Zedong stood in front of the map without looking back, "Have you sent a telegram to Chen Yi and Su Yu?"

"It's already been sent out, and they will take action soon." Ren Bishi put on his glasses. Mao Zedong let out a "huh", and the remaining anger was still there: "Hua Ye has not moved, Liu Deng is bound to be in danger! Come and see—" Mao Zedong seemed to use the strength of a steel drill to pick up a red and blue pencil, and just pointed to the Central Plains on the map, but the pen fell to the ground with a snap.Ren Bishi bowed first to pick up the pencil and handed it to Mao Zedong, feeling a sudden burst of sadness in his heart. Under the oil lamp, Mao Zedong's hands were swollen like steamed buns.

It has been more than five months since he was evacuated from Yan'an. Mao Zedong never slept soundly or had a decent meal.Coupled with the rare natural disasters and frequent wars in northern Shaanxi this year, there is a shortage of food items, and Mao Zedong, like the soldiers, is often in a state of semi-starvation.Extreme fatigue and severe malnutrition made Mao Zedong swollen and weak. Since Liu Deng sent his troops south, Mao Zedong has been thinking about them every day.Whenever there is a telegram from Liu Deng, he will personally handle it no matter day or night. In order to ensure the smooth march of the army to the south, after he ordered Chen Geng to lead his troops across the Yellow River, he called Chen and Su several times to go south to Henan, Anhui and Su to clamp down on the enemy, so as to reduce the pressure on Liu Deng. However, Chen and Su have not moved yet.Not long ago, Liu Deng called for emergency: Dozens of brigades of the Kuomintang formed a situation of interception and encirclement, trying to encircle and annihilate me on the way to march.Mao Zedong was so worried that he almost spent several days standing in front of the map.Just now, he struggled to pick up the pen again, and wrote a telegram to Chen Yi and Su Yu:

The wording is harsh.Recently, the telegrams sent by Mao Zedong to the field armies were all in the name of the Central Committee or the Military Commission, but the telegrams sent to Chen and Su were all named "Mao Zedong" and must be signed with four thick "A". It continued until the Huaye West Corps crossed the river and went down the river. This shows Mao Zedong's determination and anxiety. It was this telegram that Ren Bishi had just said had been sent.Ren Bishi turned around to implement it, and Mao Zedong returned to the map to study the situation between the enemy and ourselves. He wanted to make a mark on the map, picked up the pencil several times and dropped it on the ground several times. Then the doctor came in and interrupted his train of thought, and he became angry.

"Well, I shouldn't lose my temper with the doctor, he is also kind." Mao Zedong took the pencil and shook his head, "But he shouldn't bother me, he doesn't know what I need most right now." Ren Bishi wanted to comfort Mao Zedong, but he knew that this situation could not be called "safe", so he had to repeat what he had said: "Chairman, the situation on the battlefield in Shandong has been tense, and Chen and Su's delay in moving must be due to difficulties." I think they will take action after receiving this telegram." Mao Zedong's brows still did not loosen: "I hope so."

Zhou Enlai walked into the cave, with thick eyebrows flying: "Chairman, there is good news from Liu Deng!" "Oh? Read it quickly!" Mao Zedong took a few steps forward, but took the telegram, "No, let me read it myself." Mao Zedong sucked his lips, his brows gradually relaxed, and redness appeared on his gray and swollen face.He slowly handed the telegram to Ren Bishi, slowly reached out his hand and took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it slowly, took a deep breath, and said suddenly: "We finally made it through!" Zhou Enlai deeply understood the meaning of Mao Zedong's words, and continued: "Yes. Chairman, since ancient times, whoever wins the Central Plains wins the world!"

Mao Zedong couldn't hide his inner joy and laughed. Zhou Enlai said: "Chairman, Liu Deng entered the Dabie Mountains, and all battlefields have survived. But Chiang Kai-shek will not be reconciled, he will definitely risk his life to 'encircle and suppress'." Mao Zedong nodded: "This is what we hope too." Zhou Enlai's eyes were heavy: "It's just that it will be very difficult for Liu and Deng. They carry too much weight." Mao Zedong moved to the door, opened the curtain, and glanced at the stars in the sky: "The stars are brighter when the night is dark. The difficulties are great, and Liu Deng is more glorious. Their actions are heroic actions! "

That night, the oil lamps in Mao Zedong's cave remained on all night. Two days later, the radio waves carried the "Strategic Guidelines for the Second Year of the War of Liberation" drafted by Mao Zedong himself and transmitted to various battlefields of the People's Liberation Army: History has recorded a stroke heavily-beginning with the advance of Liu Deng's army into the Dabie Mountains, the Chinese People's War of Liberation changed from strategic defense to strategic offensive. "Crossing the Eighth Road! Crossing the Eighth Road!" The oriole flew from one village to another, just calling like this, clear and clear, and the words were correct.

The old people stroked their beards and said: "Those who can fly are gods. A few years ago, 'Zhibucha' yelled 'Fight Japan, kill the enemy, kill the enemy' day and night. Didn't Little Japan surrender? Make no mistake—'Guobalu' is about to become popular again." "Crossing the Eight Roads! Crossing the Eight Roads!" Oriole cried even more joyfully, spreading a series of magical legends. Someone said: "The team that made the red came from the north of the Yellow River. There were hundreds of thousands of horses and horses. The leader's surname was Liu and his name was Deng. You can ride the clouds and ride the fog, and travel thousands of miles in a day."

Speaking of Liu and Deng's army rushing through several big rivers, there is a complete legend: when crossing the Yellow River, it was just under the scorching sun and the waves were surging. The water is a thousand feet deep and the river is two to three hundred miles wide. There is nothing to do.Liu Deng breathed a sigh of relief, and the Yellow River was covered with red clouds in an instant, and snowflakes the size of a kang mat fell down in a blink of an eye, sealing the river surface firmly and flat, and a large group of people walked over the river ice. When we arrived at the Ru River, there were white bandits in front and pursuers behind; there were neither bridges nor boats on the river. That's called a close call, and it's hard to destroy the three armies.Liu Deng calmed down, took out a red silk bag from his waist without any haste, took a drop of water, threw it into the river, and the river naturally divided into two walls.Thousands of soldiers and horses crossed the Ru River safely without mud on their feet and water on their hooves. Even the guns and bullets of the Central Army could not penetrate the two water walls. It was even more exciting when the team drove to the Huaihe River.Liu Deng is a person who wears glasses. He took off his glasses and built a bridge over the river, which became a colorful bridge. As soon as the army had just crossed the bridge, the Central Army chased to the river.I saw Liu Deng smiled, pulled back his glasses frame to the bridge of his nose, and the bridge disappeared. The Central Army was so angry that there was nothing to do...

Arrived! Finally arrived at the Dabie Mountains! Although August in the Dabie Mountains is not the most beautiful season, for the soldiers from the Hebei-Shandong-Henan Great Plains, the beautiful and bright mountains and rivers here made them intoxicated. The pond on the side of the road is clear and clear, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds.Flocks of geese are playing in the water, pushing aside a pool of clouds. The pond is full of wild flowers of various colors, red, yellow, purple, and blue.In the distance, dark green, emerald green, and blue-yellow mountains are spread out in sequence. In the shade of the mountain are dense pines and bamboos; on the sunny side of the mountain are endless terraced fields; even the top of the mountain is covered with paddy fields, with green ripples. The northern soldiers who are used to seeing the yellow sand dunes burst out with emotion. However, a large number of middle and senior commanders of the field army are in a different state of mind, because they are heading for the revolution from here.People with good deeds tried to make a list: Chen Xilian, Chen Zaidao, Zheng Guozhong, Chen Heqiao, Xiao Yongyin...the result is endless. The mountains, rivers, waters, flowers, trees, field paths, and rugged mountain roads of the Dabie Mountains have a constant relationship with them.Setting foot on the land of their hometown again, they wandered around broken walls and cliffs, looking for the relics left behind when they were "red".Take a handful of the red soil of my hometown, and look at the big-character slogans written by myself in the past, which are still faintly recognizable despite the wind and rain—"Fight the local tyrants, divide the fields", "Smash the white bandit encirclement and suppression", "The Red Army will win"... These nine-death survivors For the first time, the men tasted the bitterness and sweetness of the tears of returning home. Chen Heqiao, Director of the Organization Department of the Field Army, wanted to walk on the mountain to feel nostalgic. Just after leaving the village, he saw Yu Qiao and Chen Xiaojing from the Cartography Division running down from the top of the mountain with a lot of flowers, smiling. After resting for a few days, the girls cleaned themselves up as if they were different people, and never saw the embarrassment of the Yellow River flooding area and crossing the Ru River and Huai River again. Chen Xiaojing said: "Minister Chen, look how beautiful the flowers in Dabie Mountain are!" Chen Heqiao took out a branch: "The Dabie Mountains are full of treasures, and there are many good things. Why do you pick so many flowers?" Chen Xiaojing blinked secretly: "I use it to decorate the drawing room. Yu Qiao's one is reserved for Director Chai!" "Spoof!" Yu Qiao grabbed Chen Xiaojing's ear and didn't let go until Chen Xiaojing begged for mercy. She took out something from her pocket: "Mr. Chen, is it strange to you? The stones of Dabie Mountain are red! Look——" "Yes, Minister Chen, you are from the Dabie Mountains, why do you think this is?" Chen Xiaojing also took out a red stone. Chen Heqiao's smile disappeared: "The rocks of Dabie Mountain are red, and the soil of Dabie Mountain is also red, because there is blood in it; the blood of the people of Dabie Mountain!" The stone in Chen Xiaojing's hand fell to the ground with a thud: "Really...really?" Chen Heqiao picked up the stone and stroked it: "The Red Army entered three times and exited three times. After each transfer, the KMT's 'Qingxiang Encirclement and Suppression' was followed by the KMT's 'encirclement and suppression of the countryside'. They burned and killed them all. The Dabie Mountains were soaked in blood...keep it Now, remember, this is a blood debt!" A soldier named Niu Sanbao walked towards this side with a blind old mother supported, followed by a five or six-year-old little girl. The old man staggered all the way, chattering all the way: "Silian, the instructor of Silian..." Walking to Chen Heqiao, Niu Sanbao said, "Old mother, this is our chief." "Chief? The chief is from the fourth company? The chief is the instructor?" The old man squeezed his sunken eyes and held Chen Heqiao's hands tightly. Chen Heqiao didn't know how to answer, so he had to tell the truth: "Old mother... I am not a member of Silian, nor an instructor." "Then you are not the Red Army who left here in the 18th year of the Republic of China?" "We were the Red Army back then, and we're back now." "Then you don't know Wu Hai, the instructor of Silian?" "Wu Hai? Old mother, we have a lot of Silian here. As far as I know, there is no instructor named Wu Hai." "No? No! I can't...I'm just such a son. I, Wu Hai, was the instructor of the Fourth Company of the Fourth Red Army. He was only twenty years old when he left!" The old man sat on the ground crying like a disappointed child. Yu Qiao and Chen Xiaojing hurriedly helped the old man up, and you comforted each other: "Old mother, don't be sad. Although we are not Wu Hai, we are the same as Wu Hai. We are both the Red Army and your sons and daughters." .” Chen Heqiao took the old man's hand: "Old man, now our Red Army has millions. At that time, Wu Hai was the instructor of the Fourth Company. Now we have many, many Fourth Companies. Tens of thousands of Wu Hai have returned. Do you think Whatever you ask Wu Hai to do, we can do it for you." "No, I don't want to do anything, I don't want anything..." the old man sobbed, with muddy tears hanging on his wrinkled face, and he took a long time to hold his breath, "I want Wu Hai to come back... to me Revenge! Ever since he left, the White Bandits have made trouble in Wanzi! People from the Women's Rescue Society have spoiled those beasts enough, and they are thrown into the pond with their hands tied behind their backs! Killers are killed every day in the pine forest behind the mountain. It's too many to count...Wu Hai's father was also hacked to death! My eyeballs were also screwed out by the beasts with bamboo tubes...Wu Hai! Wu Hai! You have to come back to your mother and your father Revenge..." Everyone present couldn't help it.Yu Qiao and Chen Xiaojing held the blood-red stone tightly with trembling hands.Chen Heqiao wiped away his tears with his sleeve: "Old mother, don't cry. We will avenge you! I have something to ask you. Now that the Red Army is back, why have all the villagers run away except the old and the young?" ?” Trembling, the old man opened his shirt, and took out a note from his pocket. The note read: If you meet the Communist Party face to face, you will kill everyone! "This was written by the chief security officer last month. I am old and blind again. What are you afraid of? I am desperately waiting for Wu Hai at home. I want to tell him about my grievances!" Chen Heqiao supported the old man and said, "You did the right thing! Old mother, don't be afraid! We have a large team, and we will drive this way in the future. Maybe your Wu Hai will come again!" The old man straightened up suddenly, pulled the little girl beside him and said, "My good boy, go to the back of the mountain and tell your mother, your uncle, and your aunt to come back quickly. Just say, the Red Army is not leaving!" The little girl seemed to understand something, turned around, and ran up the mountain like a deer.A child's voice like a silver bell echoed in the pine forest: "The red-army-no-go-lah!" The thatched hut is pitch-black, and lights have to be lit in broad daylight. After the troops entered Beixiangdian, Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping lived and worked here. No matter where Liu Bocheng goes, he cannot do without the map, and sometimes he even regards reading the map as a kind of rest and pastime. No matter how tense and tired he is, as long as he stops in front of the map, he will be able to sink his qi into his dantian and enter a state of "entering concentration".It seems that what he is facing is not a colorful, dotted and lined figure, but a living and raised world. He walked in with all his heart, crossed the mountains and rivers, stepped into the vast plains, crossed small bridges and passes, trudged between mountains and rivers, from a head full of black hair to a crown of silver... At this moment, he is holding a An oil lamp like a bean stands in front of the "Situation Map of the Dabie Mountains", imagining the further deployment of the troops. Deng Xiaoping had just signed a combat order and turned on the radio to listen to the enemy's movements. He was afraid of affecting Liu Bocheng, so he turned the volume to the minimum. On the radio, the KMT’s radio station is broadcasting the battles of the past few days: “…In the second half of this month, 100,000 officers and soldiers of the National Army pursued and encircled the Communist Army in the Ruhe and Huaihe Rivers of Xixian County. They fought fiercely for several days. The battle was unprecedented. A lot of weapons have been seized. At present, the national army is attacking steadily, and the communist bandits have fled in separate groups. According to reliable sources, the national army once killed a tall bandit wearing glasses. It has been confirmed by many sources that this person must be the leader of the communist bandit Liu Bocheng undoubtedly..." "Ha! Political Commissar Deng." Liu Bocheng has bad eyesight but good ears.He put down the oil lamp, turned his head and smiled at Deng Xiaoping, "Is this the first time I've been shot to death?" Deng Xiaoping also laughed: "Chiang Kai-shek hates you for not dying! Originally in the southeast of Shanxi and Hebei, Shandong and Henan, you were already a confidant of others; now you have fled to the Dabie Mountains, beside his bed, making him feel like a bone in his throat and a thorn in his back." , can he not hate and wish you to die?" "That's right!" Liu Bocheng looked back at the map and said, "Look, the Dabie Mountains span thousands of miles, stretching from Pinghan to the west, Jinpu to the east, Huaihe River to the north, and Yangtze River to the south, jutting out between Wuhan and Nanjing. The products are rich, the terrain is dangerous, and it can be called a battleground for military strategists of all dynasties. Now we are opening up the Central Plains battlefield, liberating the whole country, and realizing a major strategic turning point for our army. Of course, Chiang Kai-shek will fight for it with all his life. Either you die or I Live. However, I, Liu Bocheng, don’t want to die, so I have to keep one eye open and try to see the competition in the Central Plains, who wins!” While speaking, Li Da came in and reported: "Commander, political commissar, the troops have assembled." Liu Bocheng nodded: "Okay. Political Commissar Deng, the troops are waiting for your report. Let's go and meet our deer hunter." On the threshing ground at the southeast corner of the Northward Store, more than 200 elites from the Field Army Command gathered. This is the first time that the Field Army Command has held such a large-scale cadre meeting since it went south. In the center of the venue was an Eight Immortals table temporarily borrowed from ordinary people. On the table was a teapot and an enamel bowl that were also borrowed. The clothes of the cadres present at the meeting were all washed clean, and their faces were neatly trimmed.Li Pu, the director of the Xinhua Branch, suggested that, before Chief Liu and Deng came, please first ask Chai Chengwen, the chief of the intelligence department, to introduce the enemy's situation.Chai Chengwen was talking happily, when he saw Liu, Deng and Li approaching from a distance, he immediately stopped talking and took the lead in applauding. Liu Bocheng waved his hand: "Today Political Commissar Deng is giving a report, and I am also an audience." "Okay, I'll throw bricks to attract jade." Deng Xiaoping walked to the table and motioned for everyone to sit down. Deng Xiaoping never used scripts for speeches during wartime, so the field army headquarters never set up a full-time secretary.Deng Xiaoping made it clear: "Comrades, we have reached the Dabie Mountains, from the Yellow River to the Yangtze River, and completed the first step of the strategic mission..." The applause startled the sparrows resting on the grain stacks in the courtyard. The sky is blue with occasional white clouds. This is a rare good weather since the battle in Southwest Shandong. Deng Xiaoping seemed to be getting a little hot under the sun. He took off his gray military uniform, which contained only a yellowed short-sleeved sweater; he took off his hat again, revealing his bald head like everyone else. After a long journey and days of fighting, his face was visibly thinner, his eye sockets were sunken, and his cheekbones were more protruding. He took a sip of water and continued: "The Party Central Committee said that our actions were heroic actions. Whether they are heroic or not depends on our future actions. At present, our Chenxie Corps has advanced to the west line of Longhai and is heading towards Funiu Mountain. In this way, the Dabie Mountains, Funiu Mountains and southwestern Shandong formed a corner. In this strategic situation, there are sufficient grounds and conditions for us to liberate the Central Plains and push Chiang Kai-shek back a line. "First, due to our advance into the Dabie Mountains and the appearance of the Chen Xie Corps on the western front of Longhai, coupled with the offensive on the northern Shaanxi battlefield, Chiang Kai-shek's lack of troops is even more stretched. Now the enemy around us has a total of 23 brigades, but only 15 10,000 people, some of which were replenished after I annihilated them. In addition, it is extremely difficult for the enemy to draw troops from other places. On the other hand, when I crossed the Longhai Railway, the enemy mistakenly believed that we It was a forced action. He did not arrange a frontal attack beforehand, and he was always passive after the chase. This is Chiang Kai-shek's strategic failure, and this is Chiang Kai-shek's Achilles' heel. He always miscalculated the situation and played stinky moves when playing games with our Chairman Mao. !" There was laughter in the hall. "Secondly, let's take a look at the Central Plains. The Central Plains area has a population of 45 million and is rich in products. It was originally an important "military depot" and "grain depot" for Chiang Kai-shek. We have seized the enemy's supplies here and replenished himself, so that the enemy's difficulty increased sharply. "Thirdly, this region has been influenced by our long-term revolution. The people have been baptized by the revolution and support us in their hearts. However, due to the four shifts of the revolution, the people are still taking a wait-and-see attitude towards us. This is understandable. Our Chairman Mao There are also worries. He said that there are three kinds of prospects for advancing into the Dabie Mountains: one is to pay the price and not stand firm, and return; A solid base in the Central Plains. Comrades, we should strive for a third future!" Deng Xiaoping finally said: "We predict that within half a year will be the most difficult period, and also the most critical period. It can also be said that success or failure depends on one stroke!" Sparrows fell on the grain stacks in the yard, and the birds combed their feathers and busily pecked at food. They are used to the sound here. Gu Zhutong leaned on the sofa with his back, his dark eyebrows curled into a ball, and his heavy and uneven breathing rose and fell.He had never been so useless since the day he joined the army.During the Northern Expedition, his third division fought all the way from Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangsu and Zhejiang to Nanjing, and was invincible. To encircle and suppress the Central Soviet Area of the Communist Party, he served as the commander-in-chief of the North Route Army. He led his troops step by step, successively occupied Lichuan, Guangchang, Xingguo, and Ningdu, and then advanced into Ruijin, forcing the Red Army to abandon their base areas and start the long march like fleeing. In 1941, he used a small plan in southern Anhui to almost annihilate the New Fourth Army. But this time... Gu Zhutong sighed, his eyes fell on the large mahogany desk. There is a page of paper on the mahogany table, like a pale face in the twilight, lines of black characters on the paper are like blue veins protruding from the white face.It was a telegram sent to him by Chiang Kai-shek two days ago.I don't know what thought, or to warn myself, or to resent the other party, this message is always lying there—— All the troops were slow to move forward, and repeatedly missed good opportunities. Let the bandit army cross the Huaihe River safely and enter the Dabie Mountains. This is the greatest shame for our revolutionary soldiers.Commanders and troop commanders at all levels only fought steadily, gathered in groups, failed to distinguish between columns, did not dare to surpass and pursue the bandit army, and had no significant results in the past ten days. How can they eliminate the banditry and save the peril? Here is a strict order to admonish: If the bandit army is allowed to escape to the west of Pinghan Road again, the commanders and commanders at all levels will be punished for the crime of condoning the bandit and harming the country and the people. Gu Zhutong looked away.On crime? If the crime is serious, the chief culprit should be the coach.Don't you see, the commander is unknown, and the army is exhausted! At the beginning, if the president did not intervene or leapfrog command, but completely followed his Gu Zhutong's style of play, chasing and blocking at the same time, and mobilized a force step by step on the Honghe, Ruhe, and Huaihe rivers to attack several times, Liu Bocheng, Deng Xiaoping At least it will not be so smooth to enter the Dabie Mountains. If it is done well, it is very likely that the communist army will be wiped out on the way south. But the military command of the battlefield is in the hands of the president. Gu Zhutong judged that Liu Bocheng had the intention of marching into the Dabie Mountains, but the president said, "The communist army failed to cross the north and went south"; The face instructed "whether or not to deploy troops is my business, and whether to catch up is your business"; he Gu Zhutong had just deployed Wu Shaozhou's reorganized 85th Division Che Yunqueshan to Shahe, but the president sent Wu Shaozhou's department Then drive back to Suiping... There are countless such things in a month.Gu Zhutong remembered a famous saying of "Little Zhuge" Bai Chongxi: "Some people say that Commander-in-Chief Jiang is the infantry commander, and he has been in command all the way to the regiment, battalion, and company... In fact, he should be the rifle commander." There is more to it than that.It would be fine if the president only intervened in the battlefield, but what made him uneasy was that whenever he lost in the battlefield, Long Yan would definitely turn his anger on the subordinates.Xue Yue, the former director of the Xuzhou "Sui Department", was dismissed because of this; after the Battle of Southwest Shandong, Wang Zhonglian, the commander of the Fourth Corps, was dismissed from his post and dismissed from Beijing; Due to the sudden turn of events in the country, he was removed from the position of chief of staff and changed to the director of Northeast Xingyuan. "It's not easy for an old man!" Since joining the Whampoa Military Academy and following Chiang Kai-shek for 25 years, Gu Zhutong knows Chiang Kai-shek's heart very well. The president also had no choice but to withdraw and punish several battlefield commanders. If he didn't find a few scapegoats, how could he show the world?Especially under the current situation, the Americans are preparing to play the president's abacus. Last month, U.S. President Truman sent General Wedemeyer to China for inspection and met with Gu Zhutong in Xuzhou. On August 24, Chiang Kai-shek held a banquet to send off Wedemeyer. Gu Zhutong was unable to attend due to his heavy responsibility, but he heard about Wedemeyer's impromptu speech in the future.Americans really don't care about face, and Wedemeyer's outspokenness almost made Chiang Kai-shek drop his wine glass. Wedemeyer said: "I decided to come to China on June 30th, and Liu and Deng's troops crossed the Yellow River on the 30th. The Yellow River defense line of the national army, which was said to be enough to reach 400,000 troops, was broken in one fell swoop! There is only Maginot in the world. The defense line is comparable to it, but what does the breach of the Maginot Line mean? "I arrived in Nanjing on July 24th. You said that Liu and Deng's troops were fleeing westward, but they 'lost' nine and a half brigades of the national army in one rush; you said that Liu and Deng's army was defeated, but they launched a strategic offensive ...You spend an average of 30 million military expenditures every month, but you are completely defeated! Gentlemen, I really don't know how to describe my mood at this moment." After grief, Wedemeyer expressed a surprising conclusion: "I think China's renaissance needs exciting leadership." These words are too frank, too explicit, and too powerful.Gu Zhutong heard that the military and political officials present were so shocked that they couldn't close their mouths. Looking at Chiang Kai-shek's face that turned blue and pale, no one dared to applaud the speech of the special envoy of the US president. At this point, can the president not be furious, and try to save face?Face is secondary, Gu Zhutong thought, the most important thing is not to allow Liu Deng to gain a foothold in the Dabie Mountains.Once the Communist Party becomes popular in the Central Plains, no matter whether it is Chiang Kai-shek or his Gu Zhutong's wealth and life, including half of the Kuomintang, they will all be ruined. Therefore, the top priority is to attack the Dabie Mountains! The confidential phone on the desk rang quickly, and Gu Zhutong guessed who was calling, so he quickly grabbed the phone. The very familiar Shaoxing official dialect came from the earphones, and Gu Zhutong was surprised that the voice was so soft and confident: "Mo San? I know you have tried your best to chase and suppress the communist army for more than 20 days. Mistakes, but the responsibility is not yours. The most important thing at present is to wipe out the remnants of Liu and Deng at the northern foot of the Dabie Mountains. We must seize the time and seize the opportunity to beat him until he has a weak foothold, beat him to the point of exhaustion, and beat him without a rear base. This is The most difficult time for the enemy is also the most favorable time to attack. Please remember that the opportunity for war is fleeting. I will go to Lushan Mountain tomorrow and wait for your good news on the opposite side of Dabie Mountain." Gu Zhutong was terrified: "Principal, students should do their best to serve the party and the country!" Gu Zhutong's heart brightened, and the office, which had been dull for many days, came alive. He walked around the room quickly with his hands behind his back, and ordered a military meeting to be called. At the military meeting, Gu Zhutong announced his deployment. After that, he waved the chrome-plated metal stick in his hand, pointed to the one-fifty-thousandth military map and said: "Everyone, the Dabie Mountain is like a stone mill. As long as my twenty-three brigades and hundreds of thousands of troops work together to turn it, the Communist The army will be crushed into powder!" Just when Gu Zhutong was dispatching troops and generals, Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping had already commanded the troops to implement a strategic deployment in the Dabie Mountains before the enemy in order to establish a base. The missions of each unit are as follows: The three verticals should quickly capture Lihuang, and reconnaissance the cities of Lu'an, Huoshan, Shucheng, Lujiang, Tongcheng, Qianshan, and Taihu Lake, and prepare to occupy them; The main force of the Sixth Column should quickly capture Guangshan and Jingfu, and reconnoite the cities of Huang'an, Macheng, Luotian, Yingshan, Xishui, and Guangji, and prepare to occupy them; After conquering Luoshan, the first column attacked the Pinghan Road with one section, and occupied the Lishan and Xuanhuadian areas with Zhangcaiqian's section and approached the Pinghan line for activities. The main force gathered in the Luoshan area for standby; The second vertical should capture the mall, take the camera to occupy Huangchuan, and prepare to take over the defense of Guangshan and Gushi areas, and then wait in the Guanggu business area. The tall paulownia tree is like a giant umbrella holding the sky, casting a green shade on the earth in early autumn.Under the green shade, Yang Guoyu, the director of the Military and Political Department, spread out mimeographed maps on the floor. While comparing the operational deployment issued by Liu Deng a few days ago, he circled the current positions of the troops with symbols that only he could understand. The notebook records some work points that require the cooperation of the Military and Political Department. Things are moving too fast! In just a few days, the sixth column (less than one brigade) had captured Guangshan, Jingfu, Macheng, and Huang'an, and reached the north bank of the Yangtze River; The towns of Lihuang and Lu'an; the second column quickly advanced to Gushi and Shangcheng after Huangchuan; the first column controlled the vast areas south of Luoshan, Guangshan and west of Jingfu; the Central Plains Independent Brigade approached Ping Han, soldiers came to Xinyang. As Liu Bocheng said: "We must take advantage of the enemy's heavy pursuit before crossing the Huai River, and when the hinterland of the Dabie Mountains is empty, we will quickly expand, occupy a large area, and let a sparrow fly all over the sky!" Sparrows are flying all over the sky, and their nests are still under the green paulownia tree. In the past few days, material coordination, wounded placement, vehicles and mules, dispatch of cadres to the south, guns, and bullets... have all reached out to the Military and Political Department. Yang Guoyu is really too busy. Among the many field armies of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Liu Deng was the only one who set up a military and political office in the small and capable headquarters. At the beginning, Yang Guoyu asked what to do with the establishment of this department. Li Da said: "Chief Liu and Deng have always advocated the simplification of the organization, but decided to set up a military and political department. In addition, daily duties that must be supervised and left unattended. The chief means to let you do 'no matter the minister'. You pick a few people and build a team first." Only a few words, and the matter is settled.Yang Guoyu, who has been engaged in confidential work for a long time, jumped from the narrow space like a "pool table" to the vast "soccer field". As a result, there were two "masters" in the field army headquarters: one was "Master Deng" and the other was "Master Yang". Yang Guoyu was so engrossed at the moment that he didn't hear the footsteps coming to him.It wasn't until Deng Xiaoping called "Master Yang" that he stood up quickly. "Not bad, not bad. I'm using my brain." Liu Bocheng patted him on the shoulder, and walked side by side with Deng Xiaoping again. Yang Guoyu looked at Liu Deng's back and murmured in his heart: What is the chief doing?walk?Every time he went to a new place, Liu Deng would take a turn around, firstly to take a walk; secondly, to familiarize himself with the terrain in case the enemy made a surprise attack. This has become an old habit. But today's walk was "scattered" wrongly, and I came out several times.Political Commissar Deng stopped, looked back at the mules tethered in the distance, and continued walking. Are you going to play my tricks again and plan to pack light again? There is an open space on the other side of the green paulownia tree, where Zhang Jichun is teaching a group of soldiers to beat rice.He demonstrated, and the soldiers took turns to learn. The result was full of fools, either smashing the shells and grains into powder, or smashing them into the sky with a hammer.Zhang Jichun is not in a hurry, and will demonstrate again. The early autumn sun was still scorching, and his clothes were drenched with sweat, making him look even more skinny. When the troops first arrived in the south, food was a big problem. The headquarters was about to run out of food, and Zhang Dongting and Zhang Jiantao, who were sent out to raise food, led a group of people to work hard and ran to many places, but what they brought back was baskets of rice.Northerners are not used to eating rice, but how do you cook these grains of shelled millet?Zhang Jichun gathered the few southern cadres and soldiers in the headquarters, and asked them all over, but none of them knew how to beat the valley. In the South, this is the work of women. "People who eat rice don't know how to shell the rice. This is too ridiculous. Isn't it?" Zhang Jichun always speaks in such a soft voice when criticizing people, and he always adds "Isn't it?" after criticism.Criticism needs to be "discussed" with criticism, in fact, this is where his charm lies. No one will, so Zhang Jichun will teach it himself. He rolled up his sleeves, picked up the rice hammer, and pounded the yellow rice into bright white rice with one hammer after another. His movements were proficient like an expert's. The deputy political commissar and director of the political department of Liu Deng's army are concurrently served by one person, which is unique among all field armies. When doing political work, Zhang Jichun can grasp the key points at once.It was Mao Zedong's pioneering work to establish military branches above the company, and Zhang Jichun's initiative and practice to establish the party committee system above the battalion. After Mao Zedong knew about it, he immediately agreed and promoted the implementation of the whole army, and then wrote a special article "On Improving the Party Committee System" to make it theoretical and institutionalized. When doing ideological work, Zhang Jichun has a famous saying: It is easy to explain the truth, but difficult to persuade others. He was famous for his patience and meticulousness. In daily life, he is stuck in the crowd, and outsiders can't tell which one is the chief, and the whole is an "old cook".When marching, he knew that everyone was thirsty, so he often led the propaganda team to the front station, chopped firewood and boiled a large pot of boiling water or porridge, so that when the troops arrived, they would be able to drink it immediately when it was cool. When camping, he never occupied the inner rooms of ordinary people. He always laid a bed in the main room and crowded with the cadres and soldiers of the Political Department. The sky suddenly became cloudy, and a gust of wind blew the leaves of the paulownia trees down one after another. Yang Guoyu quickly packed up the blueprints, and saw Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping walking towards him again, Deng Xiaoping's eyes were still looking at the mules from time to time.Yang Guoyu couldn't hold it back anymore, he stepped forward and said, "Commissioner Deng, don't make any more plans for those animals. If you reduce them, you and the commander won't have to ride." Liu Bocheng smiled: "Yang Guoyu is not simple, he can guess what Political Commissar Deng is thinking." Just as he was talking, Li Da hurried over with Chai Chengwen. Li Da reported: "Commander, political commissar, the enemy's situation has changed." The director of Chai Chengwen's intelligence department did a very good job, and his long-term confidential work made him develop the habit of not leaving a single piece of paper. All the information is contained in his not-so-big head, and as long as he opens his mouth, he can talk like a river: "According to the reconnaissance, interception and information provided by various troops, the Tenth Division of the enemy Luo Guangwen Corps has invaded Xuanhuadian; the 58th Division The main force of the 46th Division has reached the vicinity of Lihuang and Lu'an; Zhang Gan's corps has crossed the Lingsha River and is advancing towards Jingfu... It seems that the enemy has detected our field army The location of the headquarters is targeting us with heavy troops from three directions." Liu Bocheng: "The enemy is doing the right thing. He aimed his troops aggressively at us, which created conditions for the sparrows we released and bought time. They can develop freely and fly all over the Dabie Mountains." "The commander's analysis is good. As long as we occupy the Dabie Mountains, we will have a wide room for manoeuvre in implementing the strategy of wide maneuvering." Deng Xiaoping lit a cigarette, shook a matchstick for a while, and said, "In order to further mobilize the enemy, we have A battle must be fought here."
