On October 23, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China praised this victory in a commendation telegram.In the telegram to Yang Dezhi, Yang Chengwu, and Geng Biao, he pointed out: "You led the field army to annihilate the main force of the enemy's 3rd Army in the south of Baoding, captured Army Commander Luo Lirong, and set a new record in the annihilation battle of Shanxi, Chahar and Hebei. Congratulations from the commanders and fighters." ("Mao Zedong Chronicle" Vol. 2, p. 247) Nie Rongzhen called this battle a military "turnaround" in the Jinchaji Military Region.

Zhu De wrote a poem of congratulations: "The dawn sun is setting in Nanhe Village, calling for help frequently and looking at Jinghua.
