Chapter 76 2. The East China Liberation Army formulates a plan to deal with the enemy

Under the leadership of the East China Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the soldiers and civilians in the East China Liberated Area won a great victory in annihilating 8 brigades of the Kuomintang regular army (accounting for a quarter of the total number of enemies wiped out in the country) after 4 months of bloody fighting. After the New Fourth Army and the Shandong Military Region Headquarters detected the Kuomintang army's four-way attack on the East China Liberated Area, in order to take into account the operations in the two directions of northern Jiangsu and southern Shandong, the troops were deployed as follows:

(1) The 7th Column of the Central China Field Army (commander Guan Wenwei, political commissar Ji Luo is Ji Pengfei) and the 10th Column (commander Xie Xiangjun) are deployed in the Yancheng area to monitor the direction of Dongtai and Xinghua. (2) The 3 brigades of the 6th Division of the Central China Field Army (division commander Wang Bicheng), the 19th brigade and the 6th brigade of the 7th Division (division commander Cheng Jun) were deployed in the Lianshui area, under the unified command of Tan Zhenlin, the political commissar of the Central China Field Army, to monitor Huaiyin direction.

(3) 3 brigades of the 1st Division of the Central China Field Army (division commander Tao Yong), 2 brigades of the 2nd Column of the Shandong Field Army (commander and political commissar Wei Guoqing) and the 13th brigade (Brigade Commander Pi Dingjun) assembled near Lianshui maneuvering position. (4) Deploy 6 regiments of the 9th Column (commander Zhang Zhen) of the Central China Field Army and 4 regiments of the 5th Brigade of the 7th Division in the northeast of Suqian to monitor the direction of Suqian. (5) Three regiments of the 10th Division of the Shandong Field Army and three regiments of the Binhai Garrison Brigade were deployed in the southern Shandong area to monitor the direction of Yi County and Taierzhuang.And urgently dispatched a regiment of the 9th Division of Luzhong and the 4th Division of Jiaodong to the south to strengthen the defense in the direction of Lunan.

(6) Three brigades from the 1st Column of the Shandong Field Army (commander and political commissar Ye Fei) and 3 regiments from the 8th Division (division commander He Yixiang, political commissar Ding Qiusheng) were assembled in the mobile position in the southwest of Tancheng.
