At night, the commanders and fighters of the 354th Regiment were on the front line along the Wenjing-Beizhen Highway and on the north side of the Jiulong River. In the early morning of the next day, the commanders and fighters hidden in the forest anxiously stared at the road below the mountain.Suddenly, there was the sound of a motor down the mountain, billowing smoke and dust rose from the road, and two medium-sized trucks drove straight along Wenjing Highway.Then, a large group of cars drove over one after another.This is the 3rd Battalion of the 2nd Regiment of the 6th Division of South Korea and has reinforced an artillery battery.

When the enemy's vanguard entered Liangshui Cave and the rear guard entered the north of Fengxia Cave, the regiment leader Chu Chuanyu gave an order, and the whole regiment launched a fire attack on the enemy together. The car stopped moving forward, and the enemies in the car jumped out of the car one after another, and immediately ran towards a small hill on the side of the road.Relying on favorable terrain, the commanders and fighters carried out a fierce flank attack on the enemy's marching column with the tactics of blocking the head, cutting the tail, and cutting the waist. The 8th Company of the 3rd Battalion first cut off the connection between the enemy artillery company and the enemy's 3rd Battalion, and the 2nd Battalion used firepower to cut off the connection between the enemy's 3rd Battalion and the main force of the regiment, preventing the main force of the enemy regiment from advancing.When the enemy's formation was chaotic, the 1st and 3rd Battalions split off and rushed down the road, boldly implementing interspersed divisions.

Suddenly, on the road, in the rice fields, on the hillside, and in the river beach, the cold light of bayonets shone everywhere. "Hand in your guns and don't kill!" At night, the 40th Army of the Volunteer Army surrounded Wenjing on all sides, and dealt a sudden and violent blow to the main force of the 2nd Regiment of the 6th Division of South Korea. The South Korean army fell into chaos in the dark and fled out of the city in a hurry.The troops of the Volunteer Army who were responsible for the blocking mission attacked the fleeing enemy head-on. The main force of the 2nd South Korean Regiment was wiped out, and most of them fled.

The 40th Army took advantage of the victory to capture Onjing and cut off the retreat of the 7th Regiment of the 6th Division of South Korea, the enemy who invaded Chushan in the north. When the battle of Liangshuidong just started, the battle of Yunshan also kicked off. The highlands such as Yunvfeng on the east side of Yunv Mountain are natural barriers leading to Wenjing, and occupying Yunvfeng and other highlands will close the passage leading to Wenjing.The 360th Regiment of the 120th Division of the 40th Army was lurking in high places such as Yunvfeng to the north of Yunshan. On the road from Yunshan to Wenjing, cars and tanks rumbled along one after the other.

Suddenly, a storm of bullets swept towards the cars and tanks on the road.Under the sudden and violent attack of the volunteers, the enemy was caught off guard and forced to retreat to Yunshan. It was the vanguard of the 1st Division of South Korea that retreated to Unsan.The division commander Bai Shanye thought that what he encountered was scattered troops of the Korean People's Army, and ordered the 15th regiment to cross the Sandan River from the northeast of Unsan in an attempt to seize the high ground north and south of Jiandong. The 3rd company guarding Jiandong Nanshan fought bravely and repelled several enemy attacks in a row.

In the position of the 3rd company and 3rd squad, the squad leader Shi Baoshan led the whole squad to use the favorable terrain to resist the enemy's attack tenaciously. The ammunition was exhausted and the position was seriously threatened. When the enemy rushed to the front of the position, Shi Baoshan resolutely picked up two blasting barrels and rushed towards the enemy group, and died together with more than 20 enemies. "Revenge for Shibaoshan!" The soldiers raised their bayonets and stones, fought bravely with the enemy, and repelled the enemy again.The enemy's attacks have been defeated again and again. At about 11 o'clock, the 1st Division of South Korea sent another eight tanks to take infantry and detour from Jiandonggoukou to the right rear side of the 3rd Company's position in an attempt to seize Jiandong Nanshan.

In order to ensure the safety of the flanks of the 3rd Company, the 3rd Platoon of the 2nd Company quickly approached the enemy tanks. Qin Yongfa, the deputy squad leader of the 7th Squad, bravely and wisely blew up an enemy tank and crushed the enemy's attack. After the war, he was named "Anti-Tank Hero" by the division. In the position of the 5th company, the commanders and fighters stubbornly resisted the enemy's fierce attack. All the machine guns were blown up, most of the ammunition was consumed, and most of the company commanders were injured. Four people acted as company commanders and continued to fight.

After repelling the enemy's fifth attack, there were only twelve comrades left in the first and third platoons. They elected Du Shusheng, who had won the title of combat model in the Civil Revolutionary War, to command the battle and repelled the enemy one after another. He attacked several times and defended the position. At the same time, a part of the 42nd Army of the Volunteer Army also entered the battle with the South Korean 3rd Division in the Huangcaoling area on the eastern front. The battles fought by the 40th Army of the Volunteer Army in the Yunvfeng, Liangshuidong, and Wenjing areas on the way forward, and the 42nd Army of the Volunteer Army in the Huangcaoling area on the eastern front opened the prelude to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.Later, October 25, 1950 was designated as the Memorial Day of the Chinese People's Volunteers' War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
