Chapter 2 publication notes

Mao Zedong was a great Marxist, proletarian revolutionist, strategist and theorist. He wrote a lot of manuscripts and gave many speeches and conversations in his life. This is an extremely rich and precious spiritual wealth.Volumes 1 to 4 of "Selected Works of Mao Zedong" have been compiled, which are Mao Zedong's main works before the founding of New China. In addition, he has a large number of manuscripts and transcripts of speeches and conversations, including those before and after the founding of the People's Republic of China. A considerable part of them is important or relatively important, which is very valuable for in-depth study and research of Mao Zedong Thought. With the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the important manuscripts other than the first to fourth volumes of "Selected Works of Mao Zedong", both published and unpublished, are systematically selected and published as "Collected Works of Mao Zedong".

"Collected Works of Mao Zedong" is a multi-volume edition. From 1921 to 1976, manuscripts were selected and edited according to the selection principle.Among them, there are a small number of manuscripts with individual incorrect assertions, which are also included as appropriate due to the importance of the content.Mao Zedong's poems were not included in this anthology. Most of the works compiled into the "Collected Works of Mao Zedong" were published based on Mao Zedong's manuscripts, early texts and transcripts preserved in the Central Archives. False historical facts, speeches and conversation transcripts are only for technical arrangement. At the end of each article, there are printing instructions for the version or manuscript. The anthology has brief notes, which are printed at the back of each work.

"Collected Works of Mao Zedong" is arranged in volumes in chronological order, and published successively at the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth. Central Literature Research Office June 1993
