Chapter 58 Resolutely attack all attackers from behind the Anti-Japanese Front

(January 30, 1940) Zhu Pengyang, Liu Deng[1], and sued Zhu Xu and Chen Luo[2]: For any army in Hebei and Shanxi, whether it is the Central Army, Jinsui Army, or Shi Yousan [3], if it attacks the Eighth Route area, we should resolutely resist and completely eliminate it under the principle of self-defense and under reasonable and favorable conditions. We should call upon the entire Eighth Route Army and all the people of the two provinces to resolutely attack all those who attack from behind the Anti-Japanese Front. We should openly and widely publicize that "Those who attack from behind the Anti-Japanese Front are traitors", "Down with the traitors who attacked the Eighth Route Army", "Down with the attackers and die." The traitors of the army", "Down with the traitors who destroyed the anti-Japanese base areas".Only by causing an upsurge in the whole army and people to fight against the traitors and attack, and deal a thorough blow to the attackers, can the schemes of those conspirators and adventurers be stopped, can they be divided among themselves, can the vacillating army not dare to participate in the offensive, and can the army be carried out with its efforts. Cooperate effectively with the work of the United Front of China (this work must be stepped up very intensively). This policy also applies to Shandong, and I hope that Shandong will also resolutely do so.
