Chapter 54 Telegram to Kuang Saichao and 3,000 Chinese workers of the American Seamen's Union

(June 24, 1946) Mr. Kuang Saichao and the 3,000 overseas Chinese workers of the American Seamen Union: Received a call[1] and learned that all the workers called for an immediate end to the civil war in China, the abolition of the one-party dictatorship, the establishment of a democratic coalition government, and expressed righteous indignation at the behavior of relying on external forces to carry out the civil war.It is admirable and exciting that you care about the future of the motherland and love peace and democracy.I sincerely hope that you will continue your efforts to arouse the overseas Chinese in the United States, the labor circles and people from all walks of life in the United States, and demand that the U.S. authorities immediately stop any assistance to the Kuomintang dictatorship government, withdraw the U.S. navy, army and air force stationed in China, and revoke the bill of continuing military aid to China that has been proposed to the U.S. Congress. China's peaceful democracy can be realized at an early date, and the traditional friendship between China and the United States can be maintained.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Mao Zedong June 24, 1946 According to the publication of "Liberation Daily" on June 26, 1946. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ note [1] Refers to the telegram sent by Kuang Saichao to Soong Ching Ling, wife of Sun Yat-sen, to Chiang Kai-shek, chairman of the Kuomintang government, Mao Zedong, chairman of the Communist Party of China, and Zhang Lan, chairman of the China Democratic League. The telegram said: "The 3,000 overseas Chinese members of the American Seamen's Union demanded that the Chinese Civil War be stopped immediately, peace be realized and China be rebuilt in accordance with the Armistice Agreement and the CPPCC resolution. We detest the use of Japanese, puppet and American troops in the civil war. Unprecedented corruption, abolishing one-party dictatorship and replacing it with a democratic coalition government. The American labor community will do everything in its power to support a democratic, free and independent China."
