Chapter 7 Actively seek and cooperate with the centrists who can be won over

(January 14, 1948) Ye Luo[1] transferred to the Hong Kong Branch Bureau and the Shanghai Bureau, and reported to the Central Working Committee, each bureau, and the Handan Bureau, and transferred to Chengzhi[2]: (1) When applying the principle of unitary sense indication [3], attention should be paid to flexibility. (2) To the restoration activities of the Democratic League[4], to Li Jishen[5] and other anti-Chiang factions of the Kuomintang, to Feng Yuxiang in the United States[6], and to all centrists that can be won over, no matter how much vacillation and mistakes are contained in their words and actions We should adopt an attitude of actively fighting for and cooperating with them, and take a verbal and well-intentioned attitude towards their mistakes and shortcomings.

(3) Publicly criticize and expose the open and serious reactionary tendencies of certain middle-class right-wing elements who have illusions about U.S. imperialism and the Kuomintang reactionaries, oppose the people's democratic revolution, and oppose the Communist Party in newspapers and periodicals. Be analytical, be persuasive, and be reasonable. (4) When criticizing any erroneous views of the centrists that should be won over in newspapers and periodicals, we must pay special attention to the persuasiveness of the articles. (5) To adopt a united attitude towards Wallace[7] and his faction.

[5] Li Jishen (1885-1959), a native of Cangwu, Guangxi.At that time, he was the chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. [6] Feng Yuxiang (1882-1948), a native of Chao County, Anhui (now Chaohu City).At that time, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Executive Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and the chairman of the Central Political Committee. He organized the "China League for Peace and Democracy in the United States" in the United States and opposed the United States' aid to Chiang Kai-shek in fighting the civil war.
