(December 31, 1950) Fifteen years have passed since the death of Comrade Qu Qiubai[1].During his lifetime, many people did not understand him or opposed him, but his courage to work for the people did not frustrate.He insisted on a heroic stand in the difficult years of the revolution, preferring to go to the executioner's butcher's knife rather than surrender.His spirit of working for the people, his unyielding will in the face of difficulties and his thoughts preserved in his writing will live forever and will not die.Comrade Qu Qiubai is willing to use his brain to think about problems, he is thoughtful.The publication of his posthumous works will benefit the young people and the cause of the people, especially in cultural undertakings.

Mao Zedong December 31, 1950 Printed from manuscript. -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ note [1] Qu Qiubai (1899-1935), a native of Changzhou, Jiangsu.One of the early main leaders of the Communist Party of China.In August 1927, he presided over an emergency meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (the August 7th meeting), which corrected and ended Chen Duxiu's capitulationism, and determined the general policy of the agrarian revolution and armed resistance to the massacre policy of the Kuomintang reactionaries.From November 1927 to April 1928, he committed the mistake of "Left" putschism.In September 1930, he presided over the Third Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee to correct Li Lisan's mistakes of "Left" adventurism.At the Fourth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee in January 1931, he was excluded from the leadership of the Party Central Committee by Wang Ming's "Left" dogmatism.After that, he cooperated with Lu Xun in the revolutionary cultural movement in Shanghai.In 1934, he went to the Central Soviet Area and served as the People's Commissar of Education of the Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic.The Red Army stayed in the Central Soviet Area after the Long March.In February 1935, he was arrested by the Kuomintang while transferring from Jiangxi to Fujian, and died heroically in Changting, Fujian on June 18.
