Chapter 1 preamble

It is difficult to do things in China, it is difficult to be a person, and it is even more difficult to live a life. The problems of China's economy are complicated, and the common people complain a lot. It's not that our cadres are not smart and incapable of doing things, but that they always only see superficial phenomena when making decisions, and follow the principle of treating the head when the head hurts and treating the foot when the foot hurts, and never think about how to solve the essential problem once and for all. question.I think the root cause of this official mentality lies in the arrogance of cadres. These cadres are always more willing to solve problems on the surface through the "strike hard thinking" in a relatively simple way. For example, suppressing housing prices and imposing property taxes are the best. In the end, it can only end up with the complaints of the common people.

In fact, the topics that ordinary people care about are very specific. To put it bluntly, they are low income, high prices, difficulties in seeing a doctor, going to school, and housing. In this book, I specifically selected 16 topics that readers are most concerned about. In my opinion, the reason why these problems cannot be solved is because the government does not understand the essence of these problems, but simply makes decisions based on superficial phenomena .This book is different from other general books. I have deeply explored the most fundamental and essential issues of each topic. Only by understanding the essence can we truly solve the problems that ordinary people care about.

In the first part of this book, I want to talk about a topic that every ordinary person cares about, that is why our life is so difficult. Our common people will always face several problems, and it seems that they are still difficult to solve. First, why our income is so low. After more than 30 years of reform and opening up, the income gap between us and other countries has become wider and wider. Aren't we working hard? Are we not frugal enough? If not, then what is wrong with our economy? Second, why are we more expensive than the US in everything.Readers may not believe the title. But let me tell you, being an American is really blissful, with a per capita annual income of $40,000, what about us?It's only a few thousand dollars, and almost everything is cheaper in the US than in China.I don't know how on earth we govern the economy? It's hard to understand, what's wrong with our economy?

Third, why our vegetables are so expensive. This is no longer just a problem of garlic and mung beans, but the price of general vegetables fluctuates as much as stock prices, making these small vegetable vendors sell vegetables like playing stocks. While ordinary people are suffering, they can't help asking what happened to our agricultural product market? Fourth, why our food is so unsafe. Now I don’t feel at ease even eating a meal. I found an example of gutter oil to explain to readers. I am still in shock after seeing this example. This is no longer a problem of inadequate government supervision. These businessmen have black hearts. At this point, what is wrong with our social morality?

Fifth, why are our products so unreliable. The Bawang shampoo incident and the Yunnan Baiyao incident have caused a great uproar recently, and melamine has also revived, and poisoned milk powder has been sold on shelves in some provinces. Not strict, but we want to know, what happened to our supervision of food and drugs? Sixth, why our young people have no chance to make their mark. After "Super Girl" and "Fast Girl", the TV programs "Forward For Love", "Let's Date" also stirred up turbulent waves in the mainland.A group of hypocrites who acted as moralists took advantage of this heaven-sent opportunity and scrambled to wield their great swords of morality and pointed at our program guests, mainly young people, saying that they were realistic, worshiped money, and liked to take shortcuts.Behind our relentless criticism of them, a major question has quietly surfaced-if young people do not rely on this method, is there any other way to make them stand out?Has our society given these young people the opportunity to climb up?

In 2004, I criticized certain reforms. These reforms made the life of our common people even more difficult. Many people said that after the medical reform, we ordinary people can’t afford to see a doctor, after the education reform, we can’t afford to go to school, and after the housing reform, we can’t afford to live. house.Six years later, things don't seem to be improving. But today's general environment is completely different from that in 2004. Can our government's reform ideas make a breakthrough? So in the second part of this book, I want to talk about why medical reform, education reform and housing reform are so difficult.

Seventh, why is our medical reform so difficult.Medical reform is very difficult all over the world, this is not our patent in China. But after the medical reform in the United States was officially launched in 2010, I think it can give us a new inspiration, that is, the key to the success of the medical reform is to cut off the link between doctors and pharmaceutical companies. However, our medical reform in Gaozhou, Guangdong accidentally conforms to this idea, which is worthy of our deep thinking. Eighth, why is our educational reform so difficult.Judging from actual experience, the educational reforms in the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan have their own characteristics. The educational reforms in the mainland belong to the kind of serious deviation, which is similar to the failure experience of the educational reforms in Taiwan. However, Hong Kong's almost inactive education system has become the most successful model among the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This is definitely not because Hong Kong people are smarter and better at reforming, but because Hong Kong, in addition to inheriting the system of the British rule, has also bred a special experience, that is, "in Hong Kong, if you want to do something, you can do everything." Can’t do it; if you don’t want to do something, then there’s nothing.”It is precisely because of this "doing nothing" experience that Hong Kong has retained the excellent academic philosophy handed down from the British rule, which is why it has become a model of success.

Ninth, one of why our housing reform is so difficult: volcano theory.Although China is one of the few remaining socialist countries in the world, it is almost the only country in the world that does not build affordable housing and low-rent housing for ordinary people. Instead, I found that this has become the monopoly of capitalist countries. They generally do better than us, such as Singapore and Hong Kong, China, which inherited capitalism.I use the "Volcano Theory" to explain the nature of China's real estate and the Chinese government's housing price control policies. At the same time, I understand the misunderstanding and serious consequences of China's property tax by understanding the US property tax.

Tenth, why our housing reform is so difficult. The second: the Chongqing model. On June 2, 2010, the Chongqing model jointly launched by China's seven major ministries and commissions gave me a glimmer of hope. In this part, I specially introduced this model to readers. In the third part of this book, I want to talk about why our business is so difficult. Eleventh, why Chinese companies cannot survive: the tragedy of Foxconn.Thirteen employees of Foxconn committed suicide by jumping off a building, which shocked the people of China. However, the tragedy of Foxconn is not as simple as the sweatshop reported by the media. We have completely ignored the black hand behind Foxconn—Apple Computer. In fact, it is the real culprit.Apple has manipulated the lifeblood of Foxconn, and other industrial capitals in Europe, America and Asia similar to Apple have also manipulated the lifeblood of tens of thousands of foundries like Foxconn in China. The Foxconn incident is not a problem of Foxconn alone, but a problem of all Chinese OEM companies.Let us use Foxconn to uncover the tragic inside story of China's foundry industry—they are really having a very difficult time.

Twelfth, why Chinese companies cannot go global: Geely acquired Volvo.Geely's acquisition of Volvo also shocked the Chinese people. As Li Shufu said, he, a rural youth, married a Nordic woman who was taller than him.I really don't know whether Li Shufu married a beautiful woman, or an abandoned woman who was dumped by men several times.I think Li Shufu, a rural youth, is really inferior to that Nordic woman's ex-husband—Ford Motor.I really don't see any chance of a successful marriage between Geely and Volvo. In addition, the seven aunts and eight aunts (referring to trade unions and industry associations) of this Nordic woman are particularly fierce. I really can't imagine how a rural youth like Li Shufu can cope with this complicated big family.Geely's dilemma of going global is not only a problem of Geely, but also a problem of all Chinese companies that want to go global, such as SAIC's acquisition of South Korea's Ssangyong, and Shougang's acquisition of Peruvian iron ore. Isn't it a tragedy of family discord? Our enterprises can really be said to go out in batches and fall down in batches. Why is it so difficult for Chinese companies to go out?

In the fourth part of this book, I want to talk about why our environment is so bad. Our country's 2010 policy can be said to be completely misled into the field of energy conservation and emission reduction. In my book, I clearly told readers that the issue of climate warming is a huge lie. Through this false proposition, European and American countries have successfully transformed our national policy into energy conservation and emission reduction.Although I don't deny the importance of energy conservation and emission reduction, the most important problems China needs to solve today are not energy conservation and emission reduction, but the siege of garbage (13th, why our garbage crisis is so serious) and water shortage (14th, Why our water crisis is so serious). If these two problems are not resolved, within a few years there will be dire consequences that we cannot afford. In the fifth part of this book, I talk about why it is so difficult for governments to deal with international affairs. This is a very important issue, because if it is not handled properly, the consequences will be very serious, and it will have a particularly large impact on our people and enterprises. Fifteenth, why are Americans so unreasonable. In May 2010, the United States formed a delegation composed of 200 senior officials, large and small, to participate in the "Second Sino-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue". The method of lure has taken away our 800 billion yuan new energy market. Think about it, no wonder so many people come to the United States, driven by profit! Sixteenth, why are the Germans so unreasonable. In July 2010, the German delegation was led by a strong woman prime minister, government officials, members of Congress and entrepreneurs all came. They chartered a total of three planes. Thinking of the example of the American delegation made me feel ominous premonition. The result was still as I expected. Germany took away a lot of "market for technology" contracts that made the Chinese feel distressed through a similar method to the United States. What the hell is going on with our days? Why is it so difficult? While thoroughly analyzing the essential causes of these problems, I also briefly introduced the practices and experiences of developed countries such as Europe, America and Japan on these problems.
