Chapter 25 poverty is not socialism

Great country melody 叶教慎 2014Words 2018-03-18
Deng Xiaoping said: "The overriding problem in China is the need for stability. Without a stable environment, nothing can be done, and the achievements that have been made will be lost." But some people start from the "left" and exaggerate the "hate the rich" , Destroying the mentality of the people, causing some private entrepreneurs, especially those in the developed coastal areas, to generally feel that the building is full of wind and rain, and worry about changes in the policies of the party and the state. Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, Deng Xiaoping has led us to create, build, and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics, respect the pioneering spirit of the masses, and cross the river by feeling the stones, ushering in the best period in Chinese history. More than 20 years of peaceful development and more than 20 years of peaceful rise have never happened in the history of our party, never happened in modern Chinese history, and are extremely rare in Chinese history. More than 20 years of sustained and rapid economic development and comprehensive progress in social undertakings are unique in the history of the Communist Party of China. In the past, we had to fight, toss, and engage in political movements every three to five times.Mao Zedong himself wrote a letter to Jiang Qing, saying: "The world is in chaos, and the world is in great order. It will happen again in seven or eight years." Now the country is peaceful and the people are safe, and the peace will last forever.China's comprehensive national strength, social productivity, and people's lives have all gone up several steps. It is precisely because of this development that foreigners talk about the rise of China. In the face of China's peaceful rise, the Chinese people have never been so proud as they are now.It is baseless to say that the per capita income of more than 1,000 US dollars is a "conflict-prone period" and that it will encounter the "Latin American phenomenon" and problems will arise. In theory, in practice, there is no basis. On the contrary, the classic development curve of development economics starts out as a very flat straight line, a relatively long period of low-speed development.$1,000 per capita is an inflection point.Beyond the inflection point is a high-speed growth period developed according to an exponential curve. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We should seize this opportunity and continue to develop at a high speed. Not to mention, the development of Japan, South Korea, including the development of Taiwan, all go straight to 10,000 US dollars after 1,000 US dollars, and there is no period of frequent conflicts. Therefore, the "Latin American phenomenon" must be analyzed in detail. The average per capita GDP of "Latin American" countries is 4,500 US dollars, and China has not even touched it!The situation in China is: at the beginning of the reform, in 1978, according to the World Bank, 640 million people in China were in absolute poverty. At that time, China's population was 1 billion, or 64% of the population was poor. The central figure at that time was that 250 million people in China did not have enough food and clothing, that is to say, 1/4 of the 1 billion people did not have enough food and clothing. This is universal poverty! During the "Cultural Revolution", the supply in Shanghai was considered the best. A small family of three only provided half a chicken for the Chinese New Year. This is what our generation has personally experienced. So Deng Xiaoping said that poverty is not socialism.

In September 1982, Deng Xiaoping, then Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, accompanied Kim Il Sung, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, to visit Sichuan. On the way, Deng Xiaoping asked six questions in succession. One question: The country is so big and so poor, if we don't work hard to develop production, how will we live?Second question: Our people's lives are so difficult, how can we reflect the superiority of socialism?Three questions: Socialism must vigorously develop productive forces, gradually eliminate poverty, and continuously improve people's living standards. Otherwise, how can socialism defeat capitalism?Four questions: How can the economy develop if we don’t work hard on production?Five questions: How to reflect the superiority of socialism and communism?Question 6: We have been engaged in revolution for decades and practiced socialism for more than 30 years. As of 1978, the average monthly salary of workers was only 40 to 50 yuan, and most of the rural areas were still in a state of poverty. What is the superiority of socialism? ?Six question marks, one proposition, the conclusion is: Poverty is not socialism, economic stagnation for a long time is not socialism, and people's living standards have been stagnant at a very low level for a long time is not socialism.

How well Deng Xiaoping said it!This is the mind and sense of historical responsibility of a true communist fighter! He pioneered China's socialist reform and opening up, seized opportunities, developed himself, and made China develop. In 2003, the World Bank came to China to investigate again. According to the standard of their daily income of US$1, China’s poor population was 220 million. At that time, China’s total population was 1.3 billion, and the poverty population dropped to 17%.According to China's standards, the central government announced that the number of digitally poor people is 30 million. In such a short period of time, 90% of the people have been lifted out of poverty, and such a big poverty problem has been solved. What a remarkable achievement! Therefore, the United Nations decided to hold a poverty alleviation conference in Shanghai, so that developing countries around the world can learn from China's experience in poverty alleviation. This is the truth of history! The trend of widening the gap between the rich and the poor cannot change the history of the common improvement of people's lives! How is this common improvement not a great achievement of joint construction and sharing of reform and opening up?

Some people say that the Gini coefficient is the touchstone for most people to be poor and some people to be too rich.It is also said that the Gini coefficient is a measure of whether China is "socialist" or not. They say that China's Gini coefficient has reached 0.45, exceeding the internationally recognized warning line of 0.4. They are reminding China that "capitalism" has gained the upper hand and "socialism" has slipped to the bottom. The so-called Gini coefficient was only an academic creation of an Italian economist at the beginning of the last century, and it has not become an internationally recognized and adopted statistical indicator. If so, why didn't the Gini coefficient be used to criticize the capitalist system in the era of sharp class struggle in the Soviet Union and China? We are witnesses of history, and we have never even heard of the Gini coefficient! Why has it become popular among the whole people all of a sudden in the past two years? In a unitary industrial structure society, the Gini coefficient may be used as a coefficient to measure the rich and poor in a small country, but it is not suitable for this in China.China is a big country and a society with a dual structure with unbalanced development. In fact, it can be said to have a pluralistic structure. How can it be applied? As for social unrest if it exceeds 0.45, there is no historical and realistic evidence. Some people say that China's Gini coefficient has exceeded the warning line for four or five years, but the Chinese economy has continued to grow over the years!Practice has given the loudest answer!Aren't those who try their best to exaggerate the Gini coefficient against Western economics? Why is it actively copying Western theories here again? If a Gini coefficient confuses the minds of the cadres and the masses, and negates the great achievements of reform and opening up, then something serious will happen!
