I have always walked between journalism and literature. The relationship between journalism and literature has a long history. In the initial period of the newspaper industry in our country, a space was set aside for literature in the newsprint, which was called supplements. News reflects objective facts, while literature expresses subjective emotions.Literature expresses life through true feelings, and only with true feelings can the thoughts expressed in literature be powerful.News, on the other hand, regards the truth as its criterion, and thus always rejects fiction. Since the early 1990s, I have been constantly alternating rational and emotional thinking in news and literature. But I would like to do news as a more meaningful thing, because I think it is the best shortcut to gain insight into society.

Since 2005, I have reduced my literary creation and put a lot of energy into investigative reporting. Investigative reporting is a form of news reporting that systematically and deeply discovers problems in the government, public institutions and society, and seeks solutions. As an investigative reporter, I not only hope to be a disseminator of public information and a recorder of major events, but also an exposer of social problems, a defender of the rights and interests of the people, and a eulogist of the progress of the times.I know very well that the production of truly great news works has always been accompanied by countless difficult and even dangerous interviews, and finally the truth behind the opening can be revealed and presented to readers in the form of words.

In investigative reporting, I try to achieve balance in the report, and try to give each party, especially the party who has been accused, a chance to speak. In the use of evidence, especially avoid the "one-sided" evidence screening method, try to select facts from different angles and positions, and use evidence in a balanced and objective manner. I have been working hard towards this goal, and I cherish every opportunity to write more high-quality works that meet the expectations of the public and social ethics. This book contains a total of 62 in-depth investigations that I have published on "Half Moon Talk" since 2005, many of which have been published by "Digest", "Writer's Digest", "China Clippings", "Lianhe Zaobao", "International Times" and other domestic and foreign publications. The publications were reprinted, and some were instructed by the central leadership, which had a significant social impact.

The manuscripts selected for this book were revised with very few details at the time of publication. What needs to be explained is that most of the problems reflected in this article are normal phenomena in our social transformation period. Some are gradually being resolved under the push of high-level decision-making, and some are still worthy of continued attention. We also hope that with the joint efforts of all parties, There are more scientific and reasonable solutions. The publication of this book has received strong support and help from many experts, scholars, leaders and friends, and I am always grateful.First of all, I would like to thank Li Chengyan and Yin Yungong, two teachers whom I respect, for taking time out of their busy schedules to write the preface for this book.
