"What is it?" Dylan followed his gaze, but he didn't see anything strange in the dim light. She could just make out the outlines of the mountains in the distance, and the path they had just come down.Although she stared intently for a long time, she saw nothing move. She was about to open her mouth to ask him what he saw, when Tristan held out his hand to signal her to be quiet. He put his fingers to his lips. Dylan shut his mouth quickly and looked at him intently, observing his reaction. He remained motionless, his eyes searching for something in the darkness.Dylan glanced in the direction of his gaze again, still unable to see what made him feel so hostile. But his tension was contagious, and she felt her stomach constrict and her heart beat faster. She could only take a few breaths carefully through her nose, trying to control her breathing.

Tristan's piercing gaze continued to stare ahead, and after a moment he looked back at Dylan. At that moment, his eyes shone brightly, like blue flames.Dylan couldn't help but hold his breath, but a second later, those eyes in the night were as black as coals again. She could only stand there blankly, wondering if it was just her own imagination. As they stood there, the wind seemed to pick up and whip around them. There was a noise in Dylan's ear, and what she thought she heard was a faint howl, like the roar of an animal she had heard before.Tristan had said they were nothing to worry about, and his immobility now told her that wasn't the case at all.

"Is it a wolf?" She gestured with her lips, she was so frightened that she dared not make a sound. He nodded.Dylan looked ahead again, searching the dark grass, trying to find the outline of the wolf, but there was nothing in front of him. "What should we do?" she asked quietly.Filled with anxiety, she involuntarily drew close to him for protection, and she whispered into his ear. "There's an abandoned cabin at the bottom of the hill," he whispered, too, but urgently. "We're going there. We gotta hurry, Dylan." "But where are they?" she whispered.

"It doesn't matter right now. We have to get out of here." Dylan shuddered at his words. She glanced into the darkness, hoping that the danger would reveal itself, but also hoping that it would never appear. She couldn't see anything, but the darkness was getting thicker and thicker, and even the road under her feet became black. If she had gone too fast, she would have fallen, and probably taken Tristan with her. "Tristan, I can't see." She murmured softly, afraid that her voice would be heard. "I'll pull you," he said, and the assertiveness in his voice gave her courage and warmed her cold chest. He reached for her hand, and their fingers were locked tightly together.Dylan suddenly realized that this was their first physical contact.

Fortunately it was dark.Despite her deep fear at the moment, she was a little nervous about holding hands. His hand was very warm, and her fingers were firmly held by him, and she felt much safer all of a sudden. His every word and every move is full of confidence, which also gave her confidence. "Let's go," he said. He led the way, and his pace was much faster.Dylan tried to keep up, but the night was so dark that she couldn't see the rocks and grass, so she kept stumbling and stumbling, losing her balance as she descended the steep slope. Her running shoes are old and the soles are rotten. One of her feet stepped heavily on a piece of gravel, and the stone slipped under her foot. Her other foot wanted to find a solid foothold to stand on, but the angle when it landed was very awkward. She could only put all her weight on this foot, and the muscles on the ankle bone bore all her weight. There was a spasm of tension. As the joints of her lower limbs twisted, she felt a tingling pain, her legs bent, and her body fell down involuntarily. But Tristan held her firmly in his hand, pulled her up with all his strength, and when the back of her head was about to hit the cold ground, everything came to a sudden stop.At this moment, he seemed incredibly strong. He grabbed her by the back with just one hand, almost lifted her off the ground, and finally put her firmly on the ground.

"It's almost here," he said out of breath. Dylan looked ahead and could make out the vague outline of a house not far ahead.Just like Tristan said, it's a log cabin. As they got closer and closer to the house, the details of the cabin began to emerge. The door of the house is still intact, with a glass window on one side, the roof is a steep peak, and a slightly inclined chimney protrudes from one end of the roof.At Tristan's current pace, they'd be there in minutes. The ground was smoother now, and Dylan felt much better as he strode forward.Every time she took a step, there would be a throbbing pain in her ankle, but she was sure that her foot was just sprained, and the muscles and bones had not been injured.Tristan urged her to go faster. With him cheering him on, she simply trotted up and down.

"You're awesome, Dylan, go ahead," he told her. The wails of the animals grew louder and closer to them. Now the noise is continuous and intertwined.Dylan couldn't guess how many beasts surrounded them.Though she glanced from side to side, she never saw a wolf. They're almost there, though, and they're about to make it.The hut where they had to stay the night before was in dilapidated condition, and she couldn't help but be delighted that this wooden hut looked much stronger than that one. They were so close to the cabin now that Dylan could almost see the reflection of his frightened face in the window pane.

Suddenly, she felt a cold air around her heart, and then the breath in her lungs almost froze. It was too dark for her to see them. She could just make out something moving in the air, one black shadow after another. They swirled in front of her, and she could feel the churning air against her skin as they weaved around her. They are not wolves. "Here they come." Tristan's voice was full of fear, and the quiet voice didn't seem to be talking to her.But Dylan heard it, and nothing terrified her more than that.He talks in a weird way, as if he knew the animals were coming, as if he knew what they were. What secret did he have to keep from himself?

Something flew past her.Although she pulled her head back quickly, the thing made a gash in her face. There was a burning pain on the bridge of her nose and cheeks. Her hand felt wet when she touched it, and she was bleeding. "Tristan, what happened?" she yelled, her voice hanging over the wind and the howling. The frightening howl grew louder, with hisses and shouts. Her chest was cold, and there was a sharp pain in her breath. In the darkness ahead, a black figure flashed and came straight towards her.She didn't have time to react and step aside, she didn't even have time to prepare for it.But the hit that was waiting didn't come.Amazingly, that shadow seemed to go right through her.She wasn't sure if she was hallucinating, but she felt like a frozen arrow had passed through her body. She let go of Tristan's hand and put it to her stomach, trying to find a cut or a hole, but the coat was intact.

"Dylan, no, don't let go of my hand!" She felt fingers groping for her, so she reached for his hand in the air, but found nothing. Then suddenly, she felt as if hundreds of hands were grabbing her, those hands were invisible, light as wind and smoke, but extremely strong. She felt that there were so many of them, and they wanted to drag her down, but she didn't know where they were dragging her.Instinctively, she struggled with her arms, trying to shake them off, but her hands found nothing in the air. What the hell is going on now?Neither bird nor beast. She stopped moving, feeling the invisible thing recede immediately. How should she fight with what she can't touch?Under the combined force of these creatures, her legs went limp and she collapsed to the ground.

"Dylan!" Even though he was standing beside her, Tristan's voice seemed to come from very far away. His voice was barely perceptible amidst the roars and screams of the orgies of the demons. Now those things were all swarming at her.She could feel them on her arms and legs, across her stomach, even up her face. They touched all parts of her body, hot as frosted metal against bare skin.More and more black shadows passed through her body, chilling her bones. Now the fear doesn't make her emotional anymore, instead, the fear makes her weak. She didn't have the strength to continue fighting these invincible things. "Tristan," she whispered, "help." Her voice was weak, like a murmur in her throat. She felt extremely weak all over her body, as if someone had drained all her energy.That-hands will never stop until they reach their goals, and it is difficult to resist their tugging power now.Towards the ground, down, down, down, and shockingly, through the ground.Dirt and rocks don't seem to be as solid as they appear.Dylan felt like he could slide down through them as if they were made of water. "Dylan," Tristan's voice sounded distorted and indistinct as if it came from underwater, "Dylan, listen to me!" She could hear the fear in his tone, and she wanted to comfort him.Now she felt that she had almost calmed down, her body was light and her heart was very quiet. He should have calmed down too. — A hand grabbed her coat roughly from the front of her, and it hurt her so much.An angry hiss filled the air around him as the hand clenched and lifted her upwards. She felt like she was caught in a tug of war. The hissing sound became more and more intense, and the hands that were pulling her turned into fierce claws, piercing her body like steel needles. They tore at her clothes, tangled in her hair, turned her head hard, pulled at her lips, and made her scream with pain. The unknown killers seemed to be enjoying it all, and the hissing turned into giggles, a threatening scream that went right into Dylan's heart, leaving her heart shivering with cold. . Suddenly, Dylan was dragged upwards.Grabbing the front of her dress, he lifted her up, wrapped one arm under her knees, and lifted her into the air. Her feet were hanging in the air, her head was leaning back weakly, and she didn't raise her head until she gathered all her strength. She knew she was in Tristan's arms now.Although he held her tightly to his chest, protecting her, she had no time to be embarrassed, because the monsters were not giving up.They grabbed at her feet, surrounding Tristan. They tore at his clothes and hair, and slashed angrily in front of his face. Tristan ignored them, and he started to run wild, holding her tightly. The claws missed once, but tried to catch them again and again.Dylan could feel the whistling of air as they flew around her. They came closer again, so close that they scratched shallow gashes in her skin, but they still missed her.Tristan was leading her galloping down the hill toward the cabin. As Tristan neared the hut of refuge, the screams reached frenzy as the things realized they were about to lose their prey. They intensified their attacks, and since their attacks didn't work on Tristan, they turned all their heads on Dylan, scratching and tearing at her head and her hair. Dylan had to hide his face in Tristan's shoulder for protection. Now, the cabin is within reach.Tristan sprinted the last few meters, his feet thumping against the paving stones.Still not letting go of Dylan, he opened the door and rushed in.In the end, Dylan only heard strange screams, like thunder. No words could be heard from them, but the emotion behind the cacophony of growling was clear: they were very angry.
