Chapter 61 read Confucius

Despite the mass movements of "smashing Confucius's shop" and "criticizing Lin and criticizing Confucius", the lofty status of Confucius in the hearts of the Chinese people has not been greatly affected. In Confucius' thoughts, the most important thing is his thought of respecting and loving people. In the era he lived in, burial was a very common thing. When a person of some status died, dozens or even hundreds of living people would always be buried for him.The more people who died, the more he showed his social status.Confucius, on the other hand, resolutely opposed this practice of burying living people. He even opposed using pottery figurines as burials, because such pottery figurines still look like human beings, which is disrespectful to human beings. So there is a curse on those who use pottery figurines as funerals, "the one who started the figurines will have no successors".Qin Shihuang secretly built his own tomb, and used many pottery warriors as burials, which is the terracotta warriors we found in Shaanxi today. What happened after his death also just confirmed the curse: "The one who started the evil will have no descendants", which made those who are willing to take people as funerals to have no children or grandchildren.I think, without Confucius' firm opposition, I don't know how many ancestors would be buried alive in the tomb.

"All within the four seas are brothers" is a sentence that Zhong Zixia said, and it is also considered to be another important thought of Confucius, which coincides with the thoughts advocated by many other beliefs and religions. In the late period of Chinese slave society, it is very remarkable that Confucius could put forward such a great idea, and at the same time laid the foundation for the development and harmony of the Chinese nation. Confucius is indeed a great educator of mankind. He educated the students of Lu State and the students of other countries at that time with the principle of "teaching without discrimination".He also put forward clear educational goals: "Mingde", "Close to the people", and "Supreme goodness".Confucius believed that human virtue and wisdom are like treasures, which are in the human body, so it only needs to be polished, and these treasures can be excavated to reveal their brilliance and play their role. This is the process of "Mingde".Confucius believes that there are three ways to acquire knowledge: "know it by birth", "know it by learning it", and "know it by learning it". In fact, each of us will encounter these three learning methods. "Born to know it" means that the virtues and wisdom in us are innate and only need to be inspired and polished before they can be revealed. But some extreme materialists don’t think so, they only recognize the latter two ways and methods of learning, and think that people can only reflect signals to the brain through their own organs-eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and tongue, and pass through the brain. The operation of a complex set of material components is transformed into knowledge and wisdom. They kept doing experiments, doing anatomy and electrocardiograms, but this was a far-fetched, unjustifiable delusion.Even these extreme materialists will not believe that their knowledge and wisdom are all obtained through complex calculations by the brain machine. The second way of learning is "learning and knowing".Through learning, the main thing to acquire is skills, and to acquire spirit and virtue, one can only inspire the potential energy in people through learning and what they see and hear. This kind of enlightenment is not necessarily in the classroom books, so it is necessary to read thousands of books and travel thousands of miles. The more you see and the more things you encounter, the easier it is to inspire wisdom and understanding. "Knowing when you are stuck" is to learn when encountering problems and difficulties. This is another important aspect of human learning, and it will be more targeted.Because when encountering difficulties and problems, people can reflect more, so our learning and education should follow Confucius's saying that there are not only "knowledge from birth", "knowledge from learning", but also "knowledge from difficulties", rather than simple Geography is understood as just "learning and knowing".

When dealing with the relationship between people, Confucius also proposed "Do not do to others what you do not want to be done to you", this sentence has become the motto of many people, and it is the criterion for many people to behave and do things.
