Chapter 68 Chapter 15 The nonsense of the mentally ill

The nonsense of a mentally ill patient sounds overwhelming. But in fact, they talk like children. If you understand their words in a symbolic sense, you will find that the strange logic is not strange at all. The fourth floor of the Poirot Kevin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is the psychiatric ward. When I first arrived on the fourth floor, I was warmly welcomed by several patients. They shook my hand, asked my name, and made their outlandish requests to me in the aisles. Later, my friends asked me how I felt when I went to the fourth floor. I smiled and said, that is the feeling of being at home. I have never encountered such a welcome on other floors. Now, every time I go to the fourth floor, I routinely shake hands with several patients, pretend to listen to their nonsense, and then answer some comforting words, and they are also very satisfied.

In my eyes, psychopaths are really a bunch of naughty toddlers with grown-up bodies.Their thinking logic is different from that of ordinary people, but it is by no means unreasonable. They may look dangerous, but in fact, the danger they may cause is almost insignificant compared with the dangerous elements among ordinary people.Sometimes they are hostile, but mostly defensive hostility. Once I went to give a psychological evaluation to a very hostile mental patient. As soon as I walked in, she stood up and walked to the door without saying a word. I ignored her for a while. She pointed to the door and said to me, "What is this?"

"This is the door." I replied foolishly. "Then do you know where the door is?" she said coldly. "Yes." I replied mechanically, but immediately understood what she meant. "Please get out of the door immediately." She suddenly snapped, like a general. Of course I sensibly rolled out. After a while, it was really interesting to reflect on this contact. After a few months, one day, I was in the office, and she knocked on the door, and I opened the door. She looked at me and said slowly: "I found that you are a very gentle and kind person. You seem to be smiling all day long. What makes you so happy?"

"It's you." Although I was talking nonsense with my eyes open, at that moment, her completely unexpected question made me feel the sanctity and value of my work. "It can't be me, I'm unhappy all day, I've been like this for decades." She stood in my doorway with a strange twinkle in her eye. Naturally, she later let me into her door, and the first interview lasted two hours. After my repeated pleas, she allowed me to leave.I would love to talk to her more, but I really don't have that much time for a patient.Unfortunately, she passed away suddenly after two talks with me.I lamented her death, and thanked her imprisoned and painful heart for opening up to me for so many moments before she passed away.

I write this article, I really hope that everyone can understand that mental patients are not scary, they need love and understanding. As childish as they may look and sound, they are by no means devils.
