Chapter 221 221

Emile 卢梭 142Words 2018-03-18
At first, the amount and variety of pleasures contribute much to our happiness, and the monotony of a peaceful life seems dull and boring, but as we go deeper into life, we will find that the pleasure of the mind lies in the moderation of pleasure, so that desires and aversions have nowhere to breed .The turbulence of desire induces curiosity and impetuosity, and the emptiness of loud pleasure-seeking can only make people tired. We shall not tire of our surroundings if we have not known that there are happier places.
