Chapter 35 35

Emile 卢梭 199Words 2018-03-18
All evil comes from weakness.A child's naughtiness is only because of his weakness. When he gets stronger, he will get better. If we could do anything, we would never do bad things.Reason teaches us to distinguish between good and evil, and conscience makes us love good and hate evil. Although conscience does not depend on reason, it cannot develop without reason. At an age without reason, we do good and bad things without knowing it, and our actions are meaningless.A child always wants to overturn everything he sees, and smash everything within his reach. There is no difference between him catching a bird and a rock, and he doesn't even know if he crushes a bird to death.
