Chapter 22 twenty two

A newborn baby cries and spends his earliest days in crying.In order to coax him, adults sometimes hold him, sometimes shake him, and in order to calm him down, they either treat him preferentially or punish him.Either we do what he wants, or let him do what we want.There is no middle ground, he either rules or obeys.Therefore, his earliest concept is tyranny or slavery.He can command before he learns to speak; he can obey before he learns to behave; he can be punished before he knows what is wrong; .Therefore, these evil desires had sowed seeds in his heart early on, and after that, all these were attributed to nature.We take pains to teach a child to be bad, and then lament that he has become that way.
