In the social order, people who put their natural feelings first do not know what they are asking for.He is constantly at war with himself, torn between his wishes and his responsibilities, being neither a natural man nor a good citizen, useless to himself, and of no use to others.Such a man is the man of today, the French, the English, a member of our great middle class.To be useful is to be who you are, to be consistent, to walk the talk, to know where you are going, and to have the courage to keep going.
