Chapter 16 what is speech preparation

Does speech preparation mean cobbling together some flawless phrases and memorizing them? The answer is no.So, does speech preparation mean bringing together random thoughts that don't mean much to you?Of course not. What exactly is speech preparation? It is a combination - a combination of your personal thoughts, opinions, beliefs and impulses. You have these thoughts and urges in your everyday life, and they even swarm you in your dreams. It is them that make up your complete life. However, they lie dormant in your subconscious mind like dormant pebbles on the shore.Preparation is contemplating, remembering, choosing what is most attractive to you, and polishing and processing it so that they fit together and become your own perfect craft.Maybe this sounds like a difficult task at first, but in essence, it is very simple. You can do it with just a moment of concentration.

Diwat Maud's speech created spiritual poetry, so how did he prepare it? When I choose a subject, I write it on the outside of a large envelope, of which I have many. When I read books and newspapers, if I come across something meaningful to the subject of my speech, I slip it into the corresponding large envelope. At the same time, I always carry a notebook with me. When I receive a sermon, whenever I hear something that inspires me, I will write it down and put it in the envelope.Maybe, they'll stay in the envelope for a year or more without being disturbed. When I give a speech, I will make full use of the knowledge I have accumulated in the usual time, so I will have sufficient materials to demonstrate my research results. So, any time, consult my speeches, as long as they are properly selected and supplemented, they will never be out of date.
