Chapter 7 7. Hu Zi, Gou Zi, Prodigal Son

It is said that "the dragon begets the dragon, and the phoenix begets the phoenix". Why is there such a big difference in having a son?Li Keyong gave birth to a son, and the young man Li Cunxu was very capable.Zhu Quanzhong raised a group of prodigal sons and ruined Zhu Liang's foundation. Zhu Quanzhong finally came to the end of his life after being the emperor for five years. Any majestic figure will have such a day. Yang Xingmi and Li Keyong, these heroes in troubled times, have already turned into flying smoke. Liu Rengong retired, and Li Maozhen lived in dwelling. The three towns of Heshuo, a veteran warlord, have long since changed beyond recognition.

Now it's time for Zhu Quanzhong to call the curtain. In June of the second year of Liang Qianhua (AD 912), the disease that repeatedly afflicted Zhu Quanzhong became more serious.Zhu Quanzhong felt that the end was approaching, and began to make arrangements for the funeral. Zhu Quanzhong was very suspicious and worried about anyone, so he didn't establish a crown prince early, fearing that the crown prince would become a force of his own, turn into an elbow and armpit, and threaten the imperial power. Now that he is not sure about his successor, Zhu Quanzhong thinks of his second godson, Zhu Youwen. Zhu Youwen has a gentle temperament, and Zhu Quanzhong likes him more.Zhu Youwen's official position at this time was to stay behind in the Eastern Capital and as an envoy to the Luoyang Palace, and his status was important. In addition, Zhu Youwen has a wife as beautiful as a flower. Zhu Quanzhong feels very happy after enjoying this daughter-in-law.Zhu Quanzhong has made up his mind to pass the throne to Zhu Youwen. In fact, Zhu Youwen is not outstanding. He indulges in banquets every day, ignores political affairs, and does not know how to handle military and political affairs. The reason why Zhu Quanzhong chose Zhu Youwen was really helpless, because all the outstanding nephews were dead.

Zhu Quanzhong has a total of eight sons and five nephews. Zhu Youliang, the son of Zhu Quanyu, Zhu Quanzhong's elder brother, was granted the title of King Guang. This kid is doing evil things, and he is used to doing things wrong in Duan County. Zhu Youneng, the second son of Zhu Quanyu, was named King Hui. Zhu Youhui, the third son of Zhu Quanyu, was granted the title of King Shao. Zhu Youning, the eldest son of Zhu Quanzhong's second elder brother, Zhu Cun, was familiar with the art of war and battle formation, and his gestures were suave. He died in battle when he was attacking Wang Shifan of Qingzhou.

Zhu Youlun, the second son of Zhu Cun, has a very high understanding. He is good at riding and shooting, and also likes to write articles. Unfortunately, he fell off a horse and died in a ball game. Zhu Youyu, the eldest son of Zhu Quanzhong, was born by Mrs. Zhang. He was good at riding and shooting. Zhu Youwen, whose surname is Kang and Qin, is the adopted son of Zhu Quanzhong, and he is the second son among Zhu Quanzhong's sons. Zhu Yougui, Zhu Quanzhong's third son, had a mother who was a prostitute in the Bozhou military camp.Zhu Yougui's mother and son have experienced a lot of twists and turns. When Zhu Quanzhong fought in Bozhou in his early years, he recruited a prostitute to stay with him for pleasure. After more than a month, when the war was over, Zhu Quanzhong planned to send the prostitute away.Unexpectedly, this prostitute was pregnant, and Zhu Quanzhong felt sorry for her.But because he was afraid of Mrs. Zhang, Zhu Quanzhong did not dare to bring the prostitute back to Kaifeng, so he had to buy another house in the suburbs of Kaifeng for the woman to live in.Once she was pregnant in October and gave birth, the girl gave birth to a boy, Zhu Yougui.Seeing that a boy was born, Zhu Quanzhong liked the girl even more, so he bravely took Zhu Yougui's mother and son back home.In the feudal society, mothers were more expensive than children. Even if Mrs. Zhang was unhappy, she had to turn a blind eye.It can be seen from this that when Mrs. Zhang was alive, Zhu Quanzhong was very afraid of Mrs. Zhang, and he did not dare to take concubines casually, let alone solicit prostitutes blatantly. Now, the official Zhu Yougui worships the Marquis of Yu, the capital of all the armies, and the commander of the Hedu, which is a powerful position.

The fourth prince, Zhu Youzhen, is also the son of Mrs. Zhang. This young man is handsome in appearance, calm in personality, elegant and easy to make friends with. At this time, the official inspector Sikong, the Tianxing Army envoy, and the Tokyo Mabu Army commander are working together with Zhu Youwen in Kaifeng. The fifth prince, Zhu Youzhang, the sixth prince, Zhu Youyong, the seventh prince, Zhu Youhui, and the eighth prince, Zhu Youzi, are all young, with no authority or talent in their hands. It should be said that Zhu Quanzhong's trust in his son surpassed that of outsiders. One stayed behind in the old base in Bianliang, Tokyo, and the other was responsible for the supervision of various soldiers and horses and the defense of Luoyang Kyoto. Zhu Youwen and Zhu Yougui were both entrusted with important tasks.

Among Zhu Quanzhong's thirteen nephews, the outstanding and capable ones died, but Zhu Quanzhong had no choice but to "choose generals from among the dwarves".These sons who are alive are really incompetent. Looking left and right, they are all unsatisfactory, but looking at Zhu Youwen is barely pleasing to the eye. When he was dying, Zhu Quanzhong sent someone to Kaifeng, the eastern capital, to bring Zhu Youwen to Luoyang in an emergency to explain the funeral affairs of his family and country. The transfer of Zhu Youwen to Beijing was overheard by Zhu Yougui's wife Zhang Shi.How did Zhu Yougui's wife know?Several of Zhu Quanzhong's daughters-in-law, nephews and daughter-in-law took turns to serve Zhu Quanzhong in the palace, and were indulged by Zhu Quanzhong.Zhu Yougui's wife is very intelligent and smart. She heard that Zhu Quanzhong, who was dying, wanted to summon Zhu Youwen, but she didn't summon Zhu Yougui, who was close at hand, and she murmured in her heart. The woman slipped out of the palace with an excuse, trotted all the way home, and breathlessly reported to her husband Zhu Yougui: "The old man is dying. He sent Zhu Youwen's wife, Mrs. Wang, to Bianliang with a jade seal. At that time, we will die without a place to bury us." Although Zhu Yougui's wife dedicated her body to Zhu Quanzhong, her heart was still with her husband at the critical moment.

Zhu Yougui also panicked after hearing what his wife Zhang said. The couple were secretly discussing the situation incoherently. Before they could finish speaking, Zhu Quanzhong sent Jing Xiang.Jing Xiang is the second person in the Zhu Liang Empire after Zhu Quanzhong. Although he is unsmiling and doesn't talk much on weekdays, everyone is in awe of Jing Xiang, especially these princes are jealous of Jing Xiang from the bottom of their hearts. Zhu Yougui looked at Jingxiang anxiously, and hurriedly asked Jingxiang to sit in the room. After Jingxiang walked into the gate of King Ying's Mansion, he didn't take another half step. Standing in the middle of the courtyard, he slowly took out a scroll of yellow silk from his arms, and announced in a deep voice: "Zhu Yougui accepts the order."

Zhu Yougui, his wife and children fell to their knees with a plop, waiting for the decree to be announced.Jingxiang read: "Responsible for Zhu Yougui to be the governor of Laizhou, and he will go to the post immediately." Compared with Zhu Yougui's current position, the governor of Laizhou is a small official, and it is a remote place thousands of miles away.At that time, downgrading to an official position generally meant that the official was removed first and then killed. So, after Zhu Yougui heard the imperial decree, his legs became limp and he collapsed on the ground, cold sweat dripped from his forehead, and he took over the seemingly heavy imperial decree with trembling hands.Jing Xiang turned and left expressionlessly.

Zhu Yougui sat on the ground in a daze.He thought it was his father Zhu Quanzhong clearing the way for Zhu Youwen's ascension to the throne.Zhu Yougui was not liked by Zhu Quanzhong in the first place, besides, his mother was born as a prostitute and had a low status. Since he was a child, Zhu Yougui could not lift his head in the ranks of his brothers, and he suffered a lot of stares and discrimination.Zhu Yougui couldn't remember how many times he was beaten with a horsewhip by Zhu Quanzhong because he often made troubles and caused troubles.Among the current princes, the others are still young, only Zhu Yougui and Zhu Youwen hold real power.Zhu Yougui is Zhu Youwen's greatest rival for the throne.Zhu Yougui thought to himself, the old man didn't care about the relationship between father and son. He not only passed on the country to outsiders, but also murdered his own son.

Seeing that Zhu Yougui's lips were purple, the veins on his forehead were twitching violently, and the bead-sized beads of sweat were "tick, tick" down his cheeks, Zhu Yougui's wife and subordinates came forward, and you persuaded Zhu Yougui to make up his mind to usurp the throne : "The matter is urgent, Your Majesty must make a decisive decision. If Zhu Youwen enters Beijing, he will drive us all to death. It is better for us to strike first." If you say that Zhu Yougui is surrounded by people who have no roots in their brains, how can they casually start talking about usurping the throne! But Zhu Yougui's mood at this moment was extremely bad, and he was already dizzy.Zhu Yougui always had a heart of indignation, feeling that he had been treated unfairly all these years.Under the fear of extreme distrust between father and son, Zhu Yougui actually listened to the deception of the people around him and decided to usurp the throne.

At this time, Zhu Yougui is also the commander of the left and right controlling cranes, and is in charge of the guards of the palace. As the Marquis of Yu, the capital of all armies, he can mobilize troops from various branches of the army.Although the imperial decree has been promulgated, requiring Zhu Yougui to be transferred from the capital, the transfer order has not yet been officially issued.Zhu Yougui knew that all his chances were tonight, and when the transfer order was issued to all the yamen to announce to the world tomorrow, all the power in his hands would be wiped out. A high-risk and difficult matter such as usurping the throne can be done with a breath of fresh air.Zhu Yougui can't sing alone. At this moment, Zhu Yougui thought of someone.Taking advantage of the night, Zhu Yougui changed into casual clothes and sneaked to Han Qing, the commander of the Zuolonghu Army who was close to him. Han Qing was the one who went to Hebei with Wang Jingren. After the failure of the Battle of Baixiang, Zhu Quanzhong was demoted to the commander of the Zuolonghu Army.Han Qing was also a veteran of Zhu Liang's camp. He saw with his own eyes that many veteran generals were punished or killed by Zhu Quanzhong for minor faults, and he himself had just been punished.Han Qing always believed that the defeat in Hebei was due to Wang Jingren's overconservation and improper command.Afterwards, Zhu Quanzhong blamed Han Qing for being too reckless and disobedient to Wang Jingren's dispatch. Han Qing was very unconvinced and felt angry.Han Qing was wronged for himself, but also saw the deterioration of the external environment.Every day I fear that I am in danger, and that one day I will lose my head too. Today Zhu Yougui came to the door, Han Qing thought that it was the same as usual, Zhu Yougui was unhappy, so he came to him to drink and complain.Han Qing opened the door to invite the guests, and let Zhu Yougui into the living room. To Han Qing's surprise, Zhu Yougui was sneaky and nervous today. After looking around for a while, Zhu Yougui lowered his voice and said to Han Qing, "Old Han, let's talk in the secret room." Surprised mysteriously, he pulled Zhu Yougui's arm and asked eagerly, "What happened to the prince?" Zhu Yougui puffed up his cheeks and stopped answering, signaling Han Qing to go to the secret room. Seeing Zhu Yougui's expression, Han Qing knew that something serious must have happened, so he stopped arguing and asking questions.Zhu Yougui and Han Qing walked into the secret room and hurriedly closed the doors and windows. Before Zhu Yougui was seated, Han Qing was impatient. He stared at his eyes and grinned at his big mouth surrounded by beards like steel needles. He rubbed his hands and asked eagerly, "My lord, what's the matter with you today?" , so careful, is there anyone who will make things difficult for you?" Zhu Yougui, who had just sat down, jumped up again uneasy, and hurried to Han Qing, holding Han Qing's skirt tightly with both hands, crying tremblingly: "Han Gong, save me." Han Qing was even more confused, and said repeatedly: "My lord, it's okay to say, I, Han Qing, would like to drive and die for my lord." Zhu Yougui broke down in tears and said fiercely, "If the old man dies, Mr. Han, who do you think should inherit the position of the Grand Command?" Han Qing was already very nervous by the atmosphere just now, but now he suddenly heard that Zhu Quanzhong was going to die, he was still shocked, took a step back, hesitated for a long time before recovering.Han Qing half asked and half answered: "Your Majesty can't hold on? Then this world should be...it should belong to you, your lord. You are the eldest son of His Majesty's direct line, so it should belong to you." "But the old man wants to pass the position to the second child!" Zhu Yougui said bitterly. "How can this be done? The second child is an outsider after all, why is Your Majesty so confused?" Han Qing questioned, rubbing his prickly cheeks with his hands. "The decree has been made, the second child will come to the capital immediately, and I will be transferred to Laizhou." Zhu Yougui continued to complain. "Why did His Majesty transfer you to leave? When will you leave?" Han Qing asked puzzled. "Isn't that clear? The old man is clearing the way for the second son to ascend the throne. According to his usual practice, cutting power and transferring away is only the first step, followed by death." Zhu Yougui raised his head and said in despair. Han Qing blinked and blinked before realizing the seriousness of the problem. He opened his mouth, not knowing how to answer Zhu Yougui's words. Zhu Yougui said word by word, "I'm going on the road tomorrow, and my life is tonight." Han Qing understood what Zhu Yougui meant, and the corner of his mouth twitched. Seeing that Han Qing was shocked, Zhu Yougui had clearly expressed his support for him.Strike while the iron was hot, Zhu Yougui began to force Han Qing into a dead corner: "Han Gong, you are a hero and veteran general with great military exploits, but you were implicated by Wang Jingren in the First World War in Hebei? It is well known that the old man is ruthless. Besides, you and I have a deep friendship, and the Korean, Chinese and military officials all know that if I die in a disaster, Han Gong, you will also be doomed." Hearing Zhu Yougui's last words, Han Qing's body trembled. He was well aware of Zhu Quanzhong's murderous temper, and seemed to have seen the scene of his family being copied and beheaded.Gritting his teeth, Han Qing made up his mind and said, "Your Majesty, we might as well strike first." As he spoke, Han Qing made a chopping gesture. Zhu Yougui saw that Han Qing had thought of something with himself, so he raised his palm and gave Han Qing a high-five oath.In fact, although Han Qing looks rude, he is not a two hundred and five with strong limbs and a simple mind.Han Qing had his own calculations. He realized that Zhu Quanzhong was about to die, and the Zhu Liang regime would soon face redistribution.Besides, with Zhu Yougui in front, the chances of winning are great.Zhu Yougui is not only a prince, but also a powerful figure who holds military power. After all, Zhu Youwen is far away in Bianliang, the eastern capital, with poor information and inconvenient movements. The so-called near-water towers first get the moon, otherwise, the moon is useless! It's better to plan early and hold a thick thigh. So Han Qing and Zhu Yougui hit it off. Things don't stay overnight, things don't stay overnight. Urgent matters, special matters. Zhu Yougui and Han Qing planned and carried out the regicide and usurpation with extremely high efficiency. Zhu Quanzhong has always been known for being cunning and suspicious, and he has managed civil and military officials of various temperaments for more than 30 years. It should be said that he has extremely high sensitivity and defensive ability to political security. Moreover, now that Zhu Quanzhong is the emperor of the Ninth Five-Year Plan, he will pay more attention to the imperial power and the political system under the imperial power, and will take more stringent and effective protection measures for the safety of his status.Generals with heavy troops dare not do anything wrong to Zhu Quanzhong, so why do small people like Zhu Yougui and Han Qing dare to rebel, and have the confidence to assassinate the emperor Zhu Quanzhong who is under heavy imperial confinement? What are their chances of winning?Don't they understand the consequences? This matter is indeed frightening and highly tense. As for whether Zhu Yougui can succeed, let us wait and see. Midnight, midnight in June. Seems like an ordinary night. In everyone's mind there was no special night.
The scorching heat of midsummer has not been reduced by the night. The whole Luoyang city is like a stove, and it is suffocating and hot everywhere. The sky was dark and cloudy, and thunder rumbled in the distance. The cicadas and insects hid under the leaves, and the birds and beasts hid in their nests to escape the heat. There was no wind in the air, and the streets and alleys were as silent as the wilderness. In ordinary people's homes, housewives shake cattail fans to drive away mosquitoes for sleeping children. In the deep well market, there was a long and short drumbeat. Han Qing led 500 dragon and tiger soldiers, and Zhu Yougui led 200 crane control troops. The two joined forces, led by Zhu Yougui, and sneaked into the Luoyang Palace quietly. Both Zhu Yougui and Han Qing were high-ranking military officers in charge of security, and one was the supreme commander of public security in the capital, and the other was the son of the emperor and was in charge of the Royal Palace Guards.Together, no matter how sharp or loyal or stupid the guards of the palace are, it is impossible for these two to disobey them at the same time.So Zhu Yougui and others easily broke through the barriers in the outer city of the imperial palace, the sub-city, and the bedroom, and directly broke into Zhu Quanzhong's bedroom. At this time Zhu Quanzhong was sleeping soundly, and the sound of heavy snoring echoed in the hall.Inside the house, several maids and eunuchs on duty were dozing off, the pink candles as thick as arms were burning flickeringly, and heavy shadows were reflected in the curtains. The chaotic footsteps of the rebel soldiers woke up the maids and eunuchs. These servants opened their sleepy eyes, and suddenly saw the glinting blades in front of them. They screamed in fright and ran around in chaos. Zhu Quanzhong, who was in a deep sleep, was awakened with a start. He frowned his thick eyebrows, propped up his upper body with great effort, leaned on the bed and glared and asked, "Who is rebelling!" Zhu Quanzhong's shout was not only an instinctive reaction but also a deterrent to the opponent. The so-called instinctive reaction meant that no noise was allowed inside or outside the emperor's bedroom, and besides, the footsteps were chaotic at this time, and the sounds of swords and soldiers colliding kept coming and going. With decades of professional vigilance, Zhu Quanzhong has already realized the occurrence of an extraordinary situation. The so-called deterrence of the opponent is Zhu Quanzhong's last counterattack. He intends to rely on his prestige, his aura, his status, and the sacred deterrence of the emperor's status, and by identifying the other party as a rebel, he hopes to deter the other party psychologically.Of course, this kind of counterattack may have some effect on unknown people. Maybe these boys will pee their pants on the spot in fright. There have been such similar cases in history. But today is Zhu Yougui, Zhu Yougui who has made up his mind, he will not be frightened away by Zhu Quanzhong's bluff. Zhu Yougui walked unhurriedly to the bed, and replied coldly: "It's not someone else, it's Zhu Yougui." Zhu Quanzhong stared at the third son standing in front of him, poked Zhu Yougui's cheek with his fingers, and growled, "I was worried about you as a traitor, but you rebelled today, and I regret not killing you earlier, so I can never kill you today." trouble." Not only did Zhu Yougui show no signs of fear, but he approached Zhu Quanzhong with a steel knife in his hand, and asked sarcastically, "Old thief, why bother when you know today?" Zhu Quanzhong was out of breath due to excessive anger, coughing violently and cursing: "Nizi, how can the world tolerate you if you act like this and commit treason?!" Zhu Yougui didn't answer any more, and ordered harshly: "Mill the old thief's corpse into ten thousand pieces!" Zhu Yougui's personal soldiers rushed forward and slashed at the people in the house with knives. In the shadow of Leng Sensen's sword, lights and swords, one after another fell down powerlessly and helplessly.A man named Feng Ting'er stabbed Zhu Quanzhong's abdomen with a knife, and the sharp blade pierced Zhu Quanzhong's back while the blood burst out.Zhu Quanzhong's tall and heavy body fell heavily under the bed, breaking half of the bed.At this time, there was actually a woman hiding behind Zhu Quanzhong. This woman was naked and shivered into a ball, terrified and at a loss, her flowery face was pale and colorless from fright.A dragon and tiger soldier raised his knife and cut the woman in half. At this time, there was loud thunder outside the hall, and a dazzling lightning "clicked" and cut a big tree in the courtyard in two.The torrential rain fell from the sky, and was carried by the strong wind and poured into the house.Rainwater mixed with blood and flowed all over the floor. Zhu Quanzhong was a little unsatisfactory in his daily life. He often beat and scolded his servants, and even beheaded and ransacked his house. Many servants in the palace have to say goodbye to their families every time they are on duty. It is very likely that they will not be able to go home alive after this shift. If they can return home safely, the whole family will cheer and celebrate, as excited as if they were reborn. Therefore, the attendants around Zhu Quanzhong always racked their brains to find opportunities to escape. These male and female attendants are only afraid of having no feelings for Zhu Quanzhong, and they really have no professionalism and professional ethics for the job of serving Zhu Quanzhong. When the catastrophe approached, everyone ran for their lives, but no one stood up to protect Zhu Quanzhong. It's not as good as when Emperor Zhaozong was in distress, Li Ye still had a few palace servants standing up to protect him with weak bodies, while Zhu Quanzhong was killed naked and alone, murdered by his own son. "If you commit treason, how can heaven and earth tolerate you!" Such an ironic sentence came from Zhu Quanzhong's mouth. Zhu Quanzhong, who is arrogant, cunning and heroic, violent and fierce, dominates the world, and sweeps across the Central Plains, is just a weak and helpless old man at this time. Dangers are powerless to perceive and defend against. He was plotted and attacked at his most vulnerable link. Zhu Quanzhong died at the age of sixty, the year of his life. Zhu Quanzhong, who buried the Li Tang Dynasty with hundreds of years of foundation, died. Compared with Tang Zhaozong, Zhu Quanzhong's death is even more bleak. Compared with Huang Chao, Zhu Quanzhong's death was even more useless. Compared with Li Keyong, Zhu Quanzhong's death was even more desperate. Compared with Yang Xingmi, Zhu Quanzhong's death is even more difficult to rest in peace. Compared with Liu Rengong, Zhu Quanzhong's death was even crueler. Compared with Luo Hongxin, Zhu Quanzhong's death is even sadder. Zhu Quanzhong failed to escape the fate of an ordinary warlord causing Xiao Qiang to die. Zhu Quanzhong's fate is the fate of a warlord, at best the fate of an overlord, not that of an emperor.Because, he ended up very rash, very fragile, very thin. Warlords have no ideological goals, no common people in the world, and no followers. They only gather a group of mobs for temporary interests. Although the overlord has ideas and followers, he is still narrow, limited, and egotistical.Zhu Quanzhong did not absorb new spiritual nutrition, so his original rascal qualities and low-level intelligence were not enough to support him to go further. Emperors are not all emperors. They should be better emperors, who have the world in mind, have systematic thoughts and goals, and gather a group of like-minded people to work hard for it. After Zhu Yougui murdered Zhu Quanzhong, he kept his funeral in secret. He dispatched people to Kaifeng, the eastern capital, to order Zhu Youzhen to kill Zhu Youwen. At this time, Zhu Youwen hadn't woken up yet, and was still making out with his young and beautiful wife, Wang Shi.Zhu Youwen is addicted to alcohol and organizes various banquets almost every day.Wang rushed back to Bianliang, Kaifeng with Zhu Quanzhong's oral order, and Fenmian Taohua happily told Zhu Youwen the great news.Unexpectedly, Zhu Youwen was not particularly surprised, nor was he particularly happy. He just held Wang Shi in his arms and continued to drink.Wang asked Zhu Youwen when he was leaving, and Zhu Youwen pressed his finger on Wang's rouge mouth, smelling of alcohol, and muttered, "No hurry, no hurry." Mrs. Wang has been working hard for Zhu Quanzhong by his side for a long time, and now he has just returned to Bianliang, and Zhu Youwen's depression of longing and thirst broke out. After he got drunk, he got into bed with his wife and tossed for half an afternoon and a night. The next day was three poles high, and Zhu Youwen lazily got up, washed, and put on brand-new official uniforms. While putting on his clothes, Zhu Youwen said to Wang sarcastically: "How could it happen to me to be the emperor? I think it's good to be in Bianliang." Zhu Youwen was unprepared, and he had no intention of becoming emperor. Not too interested. But Zhu Youwen thought about it again, after all, being an emperor is above ten thousand people, it is really very tempting.Thinking of this, Zhu Youwen couldn't help grinning. He breathed a sigh of relief, straightened his back, and stepped out, ready to run towards a bright future. Suddenly there was chaos at the gate of the palace, and Zhu Youzhen led someone to break in.After seeing Zhu Youwen, Zhu Youzhen read out Zhu Yougui's false imperial decree with a dazed but helpless face: "Zhu Youwen's unfilial piety is invisible, and he is bestowed with death." Zhu Youwen's excited face suddenly became stiff and numb, his head buzzed, and his ears seemed to have been hit by a heavy hammer. He held back for a long time before he yelled out a word: "Why?" Zhu Youzhen shook her head in frustration to express her ignorance, and then burst into tears. Doubt, resentment, despair and ridicule flashed in Zhu Youwen's eyes. After looking up to the sky in a daze for a while, Zhu Youwen stood up, staggered back to the dormitory in a daze, and asked Mrs. Wang to find two white silks, and the couple embraced and hanged themselves. After Zhu Youwen's death, Zhu Yougui claimed that Zhu Quanzhong was assassinated by an assassin sent by Zhu Youwen, a traitorous official.Zhu Yougui put the blame on Zhu Youwen who could no longer speak, and pretended to mourn Zhu Quanzhong. At the funeral ceremony, Zhu Yougui produced a second fake edict, claiming that he would inherit the Datong under Zhu Quanzhong's will. Zhu Yougui has always been unpopular, and because of his humble background, he cannot establish prestige among the royal relatives and civil and military ministers.Struggles for imperial power are seldom aboveboard, and everyone has been aware of this in the thousands of years of history, but after winning the imperial power, whether they can sit still is the key, and everyone is more concerned about this.Zhu Yougui is the kind of person who dares to cause trouble, but has no ability to manage it. Although Zhu Yougui sat on the dragon chair with his buttocks, his head was really empty, and his stomach was pumping up and down like a bucket every day. He had no plans for how to settle the crisis in the transition period, how to outline the future military and political affairs, and had no plans. There is no way.It seems that he took the risk of the world's No. 1 name just to save his own life. Zhu Yougui used to stand below and look at the Dragon Throne, feeling that it is majestic and sacred, and the emperor sitting on it is omnipotent and has boundless magic power. It wasn't until today that he sat on this chair himself that he realized that he had a fear of heights. As long as he looked down, he would feel dizzy, nauseated, and sweat all over his body. Therefore, when Zhu Yougui held an office meeting, he usually did not dare to look directly at the officials, but looked down at his fingers, counted silently, and prayed for the meeting to end quickly. After Zhu Yougui succeeded to the throne, many civil servants and generals were unconvinced. They found various excuses not to come to work, resisted passively, and stopped working.Even more extreme, they defected to the enemy's country, such as general Zhu Youqian separatist Hezhong and refused to recognize Zhu Yougui's regime, and relied on Li Cunxu to fight against Zhu Yougui. As time goes by, all the obvious or hidden contradictions are gradually converging to one point, that is Zhu Youzhen, who also has the legal status to succeed to the throne. In that era, identity was priceless, irreplaceable, and had natural advantages.Although Zhu Youzhen is not expected to have both ability and political integrity, these civil and military ministers who have their own confidantes always look for a relatively promising backer or straw in the turbulent crisis of power redistribution.Compared with Zhu Yougui, Zhu Youzhen became the only alternative. Among the forces opposing Zhu Yougui, it was not Jingxiang, Li Zhen, Zhang Quanyi and other civil officials who had power in the past, but soldiers, Yang Shihou who was sent out. It can be said that Yang Shihou created the five-generation replacement model, and he is the originator.High-ranking generals with heavy responsibilities to lead the army directly commit rebellion, and succeed easily and at an extremely low cost. This is the basic pattern of the five-generation replacement, and it has gradually developed into a maddening political disease that is difficult to contain. The general had to use it, and after using it, he was worried that he would make trouble.Alas - trouble; alas - distress. The emperor was uneasy, and the generals who supported the soldiers were also uneasy.Misfires happened frequently. The chaos of the Five Dynasties fell into even more chaos. Let's see how Yang Shihou played this historical highlight. I don't know if you still remember Zhao Ji, the governor of Chenzhou.Since Zhu Quanzhong had just arrived on the ground in Henan, his foothold was not yet stable, but he tried his best to rescue Zhao Ji who was in distress.Zhao Ji was grateful and admired Zhu Quanzhong, and the two became hard-core allies from then on.Zhu Quanzhong and Zhao Ji not only formed a political and military alliance, but also became relatives of their sons and daughters. Zhu Quanzhong's daughter married Zhao Yan's second son, Zhao Yan.After Zhu Quanzhong became emperor, Zhao Yan was naturally promoted to consort. Zhao Ji's three brothers are loyal and respectful, but Zhao Yan is not like his father and uncle, this kid has a quick mind, a lot of thoughts, and attaches great importance to interests. One day, Zhu Yougui sent Zhao Yan to Bianliang, Kaifeng, the eastern capital, to handle errands. Zhu Youzhen hosted a banquet to entertain Zhao Yan, and invited a large group of literati and Confucian scholars to join in the fun.The banquet lasted until late at night, and Zhu Youzhen got drunk very quickly, leaning on the armrest of the bed, drowsy.Everyone guessed boxing games, talked nonsense, the night was getting deeper, and the cups and plates were messed up.The lonely wind lanterns outside the palace flickered on and off, further setting off the noise inside the courtyard and the desolation outside the courtyard. After drinking and eating, all the people left one after another. Zhao Yan, who was seven times drunk, pushed Zhu Youzhen, who was blindfolded, to bid farewell to Zhu Youzhen.Unexpectedly, Zhu Youzhen, who was already very drunk, tugged at the corner of Zhao Yan's clothes, signaling Zhao Yan to stay quietly.Zhao Yan is so smart, seeing that Zhu Youzhen has a follow-up program, he immediately pretended to be drunk, staggered and sat next to Zhu Youzhen's seat, and then vomited. It turned out that the Fourth Prince was not drunk at all, he was pretending to be drunk to hide his eyes. Zhu Youzhen walked towards the back house with the support of her attendants, stammering and ordering others to bring Zhao Yan in as well. After blocking everyone's eyes and ears, Zhu Youzhen let Zhao Yan into the inner room.On weekdays, Zhao Yan and Zhu Youzhen have a good friendship and walk closely. After the two entered the inner room, neither of them pretended to be drunk anymore.Zhu Youzhen asked Zhao Yan about the affairs and situation in Luoyang capital. In fact, Zhao Yan wasn't drunk either, he came to Kaifeng originally intending to test the Fourth Prince, and waited for the opportunity to mobilize Zhu Youzhen to take the lead in rebelling against Zhu Yougui.Zhao Yan was full of confidantes, so there was no place for him to drink, so this son-in-law was acting half-truth. Zhao Yan deliberately lowered his voice and said, "Your Majesty, everyone in Luoyang City is in danger now. Everyone is not in the mood to go to work, and no one is willing to work for the third child, which makes the third child sad all day long." Zhu Youzhen nodded, and asked with some habitual hesitation: "The government is so unbearable, what should we do in the long run?" Zhao Yan glanced at Zhu Youzhen out of the corner of his eye, and said, "Everyone is dissatisfied with the third child. Old ministers like Jing Xiang dare not speak out. The late emperor's foundation cannot be ruined!" Although Zhu Youzhen was handsome but not very expressive, his face showed a slightly anxious look. He stood up and paced back and forth in the room with his hands behind his back. After walking around for a while, Zhu Youzhen stopped, stared at Zhao Yan and asked, "According to the rumors of the caravan coming from the west, is there any doubt about the late Emperor's death?" Zhao Yan smiled knowingly, coughed and replied: "My lord suspects this too? More than just doubts? It's a shocking conspiracy. Now all the old and young people in the capital know that the third child murdered the late emperor and usurped the throne. base." Zhu Youzhen took a step forward, with tears streaming from his eyes, he held Zhao Yan's hand tightly with both hands and choked up and said, "I also suspect that this rebel murdered the late emperor and the second brother, but there is no evidence, and there is nothing to do. I am really ashamed of the late emperor and the second brother. !" Zhao Yan pondered for a while, and seemed to muster up his courage, and said: "My lord, everyone is outraged now, but they don't know how to avenge the late emperor. I only hope that someone will come forward, and everyone will respond." "Then who can take on this job?" Zhu Youzhen stopped crying and asked Zhao Yan urgently. "My lord is Zhengshuo's direct relative, so he should inherit the late emperor's foundation. The old ministers and elders have long been interested in you!" Zhao Yan persuaded and encouraged Zhu Youzhen without hesitation. At this time, Zhu Youzhen's eyes were bright, her complexion was flushed, and her breath was a little short. It was obvious that Zhu Youzhen was both nervous and excited. A few months after Zhu Yougui ascended the throne, the news that he had murdered Zhu Quanzhong quickly spread, and the political situation in the court was turbulent, and everyone was in danger.Although Zhu Youzhen is far away in Kaifeng, although there are no morning papers, evening papers or news broadcasts to read, he is very well informed. At that time, spies and spies were everywhere, and Zhu Youzhen also set up a lot of eyeliners in Luoyang City.He also knows very well that there are many spies of the third child around him, so he is very careful in his daily actions.Although Zhu Youzhen spoke slowly, his mind was not slow. These days, his brain is running at high speed every day, analyzing and processing the unpredictable current situation information.Zhu Youzhen often has nightmares at night recently, always dreaming of Zhu Youwen hanging to death.Zhu Youzhen hated Zhu Yougui for killing his father and usurping the throne, hated Zhu Yougui for killing Zhu Youwen with a knife, hated himself for carrying out the false imperial decree in a muddle-headed manner, and hated himself for taking the blame for Zhu Yougui's murder of his brothers and sisters.Zhu Youzhen suffers from insomnia, and a question that lingers in the middle of the night is "Why can he be the emperor? What should I do in the future?" It was Zhu Youzhen who was twenty-four years old. After Zhu Youwen's death, Zhu Yougui ordered Zhu Youzhen to take Zhu Youwen's vacancy, stay in Tokyo, act as the governor of Kaifeng, and was promoted to Juelu. It shows that Zhu Yougui still trusts this handsome and quiet brother. In Zhu Yougui's eyes, Zhu Youzhen was not considered a threat.Zhu Yougui thinks that Zhu Youzhen has no ambitions because he spends all day playing with words and hanging out with a bunch of sour scholars. In addition, Zhu Youzhen's taciturn appearance also deeply conceals her inner activities, and ordinary people cannot see what Zhu Youzhen has in mind.Zhu Yougui thought that by being promoted to Zhu Youzhen's official position, he could easily win over Zhu Youzhen, but in fact he misjudged this young man. Zhu Youzhen also wanted to be emperor. But Zhu Youzhen felt alone and alone. He didn't have much power in the first place, especially he didn't have a strong military force. Zhu Youzhen did not dare to act rashly. Zhu Youzhen needs to test the support of the people and estimate the situation. Therefore, Zhu Youzhen deliberately set up a game to test Zhao Yan.This is also what Zhao Yan did not expect. He did not expect that the palace of the Fourth Prince, who is usually not good at speaking, is so deep. However, in the face of common interests, the two quickly formed an alliance. In order to encourage Zhu Youzhen to go out, Zhao Yan deliberately exaggerated his words to deceive Zhu Youzhen, saying that Zhu Youzhen is what everyone expects.Despite Zhao Yan's nonsense, Zhu Youzhen still believed it.This is tantamount to injecting Zhu Youzhen with a dose of morphine, and he will throw off his arms and fight hard. Zhao Yan and Zhu Youzhen have achieved mutual trust and political consensus, and the next step is how to do it. Zhu Youzhen still asked Zhao Yan a little unconfidently: "The two of us have no power and no army. I'm afraid things will be difficult." Zhao Yan said confidently: "My lord, you don't have to worry, we can find help." "Helper? Who are you looking for?" Zhu Youzhen stared at Zhao Yan suspiciously. He knew that looking for a helper was not a treat or a gift. Zhao Yan said in a deep voice, "Yuan Xiangxian, nephew of the late emperor, can help us."
