Chapter 14 2. The best chef in the world

Fuxi smelled like roasted lamb. Of course, the Fuxi mentioned here, like Nuwa, is not a certain person, but a symbol. This symbol represents the patrilineal clan society. The history of this society is thousands of years at least. But whether it is early or late, and no matter how many representatives there are, we all call it Fuxi. And it stands to reason that they should all be snake gods. But strangely, on the day Fuxi was born, we only saw the sun was very good, and we couldn't see the shadow of the snake at all. Yes, not at all. Like Nuwa's Wa, Fuxi's Xi is almost a specially created character. In addition to being used for Fuxi and some other mythological characters, such as Xihe, Xizhong, and Xijun, another meaning is "breathing of qi", which is the state of the breath stretching out.

What's the matter? Mutton flavor chant! Xi is undoubtedly related to sheep. The xi in bronze inscriptions means "sheep" on the top, "I" in the middle, and "xi" at the bottom; or "yi" at the top and "xi" at the bottom. The word plus ox means sacrifice, the sacrifice of sacrifice. There are cattle and sheep here, but there are no snakes. You can't say the word "xi", which means "the snake slipped away", right?

The "Xi" in Jinwen (Xi concubine respects Yi), according to Lin Yiguang's "Wen Yuan Volume 11".

Nuwa is a female frog, but Fuxi is not a snake. Isn't it strange? However, Fuxi is indeed a snake, and it must be a snake. It was because of Fuxi that Nuwa changed from a frog to a snake. If Fuxi is not a snake, wouldn't Nuwa's plastic surgery be unfair? If it is said that Fuxi also transformed, who operated on him?Is there a case for the complicated and confusing ancient culture? In fact, Xi originally had nothing to do with sheep. The xi in oracle bone inscriptions means "I" on the top and "xi" on the bottom.

"Xi" in oracle bone inscriptions (before 2.7.5).This character was previously unknown. According to Mr. Shi Xiejie's textual research, it is the "Chuwen" (the most primitive symbol) of the later "Xi" character. The upper part is "I" and the lower part is "Xi".Mr. Wu Rongguang believes that Xi is Xi's "Shengwen" (shorthand).

Xi is a modal particle, the ancient pronunciation is close to "drink", and the middle ancient pronunciation is close to "hey", which means "ah".I am not "myself", but "weapon", which means "kill".

The "I" (A2267) in oracle bone inscriptions is obviously a weapon.
Therefore, the Xi in oracle bone inscriptions means "kill". Who to kill? Who killed? Murder? of course not. But to solve the case, it can only be pushed backwards.Where to push?Sacrifice (sacrifice).Because Fuxi is also called Pao Xie (Pao Xi).The xi of the blood horse is the xi of sacrifice; the xi of sacrifice was originally the Xi of Fuxi, just like the character for snake was originally "it".This is called "Benzi" in philology, that is, "original version".

The original version of Xi is "xi", and the original version of snake is "it".Later, adding worms to "it" made a snake, and adding ox to "xi" made a sacrifice. Why add radicals? For emphasis. For example, emphasize that snakes are reptiles.Similarly, just because Xi is a sacrifice, cattle are added. You know, sacrifice and sacrifice are both next to the word ox. This is of course awesome. Fuxi is a very good blood sacrifice.Cooking is cooking, sacrifice is sacrifice. Sacrificial animals include horses, cows, sheep, pigs, dogs, and chickens.Among them, the one with pure color is called sacrifice, the one with whole body is called sacrifice, and the combination is called sacrifice. The most important sacrifices were cattle and sheep. In the sacrificial ceremony, if there is a cow, it is called Tailao, and if there is no cow but only sheep, it is called Shaolao.Less prisons are used more than too many prisons, because sheep are cheaper than cattle. But no matter how much money you save, you must have sheep.

Therefore, although there is no sheep in the oracle bone inscriptions, the bronze inscriptions have to be added.Later, you have to add cattle.Add a sheep on top, and a cow, Fuxi or blood horse next to it, and it will be considered as authentic. Haha, it turns out that Fuxi, the snakehead, is a cook. But Fuxi or Paxiu can be called "the best cook in the world" because it cooks food for the gods to eat.Inviting God to eat was a top priority in ancient times. "Zuo Zhuan" said, "The major events of the country are sacrifices and military affairs."Rong is war, and sacrifice is sacrifice.Wars kill people, sacrifices kill sheep.Xi, how could it not be "kill"!

So even in the era of Nuwa, Fuxi's status was not low.In fact, if Nuwa's great invention is reproductive worship, then Fuxi's outstanding contribution is to invite the gods to eat.He smelled like mutton, so it was not surprising that Wang Mang was thinking of him later. The strange thing is, why did our ancestors invite God to eat?Could it be that they have flocks of cattle and sheep, melons and fruits full of gardens and abundant grains, which can't be eaten up and used up, so they want to hold a big feast? of course not.
