Chapter 118 Guangzhou Huanghuagang Uprising

On November 13, 1910, in Penang, Malaysia, where Wang Jingwei and Chen Bijun met, Sun Yat-sen held an enlarged meeting of the Tongmenghui—"Pineng Conference" (penang in Penang English). Except for Zhang Taiyan's Zhejiang faction who did not arrive, not only Huang Xing's Hunan faction returned to the embrace of the revolution, members of the Tongmenghui from Singapore also came from afar, and people with lofty ideals from Penang also showed face and participated enthusiastically. In short, all the responsible persons from the alliance associations from all over the world have come!

Sun Yat-sen held this meeting with only one purpose - to continue the revolution!Fighting back with blood against the leaders of the Tongmenghui is a sarcasm of "distant revolutionaries" to restore the people's confidence in the revolutionary party. At the meeting, it was decided to hold the tenth uprising, again in Guangzhou. Everyone has no objection to the holding of the Guangzhou Uprising. There are plenty of fighters who are brave enough to fight, and everyone is not afraid of death! But the objection is, where to go for the revolutionary funds to buy weapons and ammunition?

For the several uprisings over the years, not only external sponsorship but also comrades' donations were used to finance the uprisings. However, neither of these once-successful approaches is much more viable now. Firstly, the revolution is now at a low ebb, and the future is uncertain. There are fewer and fewer people willing to invest in sponsoring the revolution, so it is naturally difficult to get sponsorship; . Could it be that if you can't get money, let the comrades fight with the Qing soldiers with bare hands?Of course not! Sun Yat-sen understood: If we want to solve the problem of funding for the revolution, we must rely on the collective efforts of our comrades and their generosity. But the problem is that revolutionaries are human beings, and they have family members to support, so we can't let everyone go bankrupt, right? What a shame!

Sun Yat-sen thought over and over again, and finally became cruel: Alas!Let's just be the villain again. At the meeting, with tears in his eyes, Sun Yat-sen confessed to the revolutionary comrades attending the meeting with tears in his eyes: I knew that you comrades were also very poor, but the revolution was imminent, and my comrades were duty-bound!If my comrade does not help us today, who else will help us!We have only come close to success today!Comrades Wanwang reluctantly and enthusiastically sponsored to complete this final feat.If this time is not successful, I, Sun Wen, will also hide my name and disappear in the empty mountain. I will see my comrades without a face, and I dare not tire my comrades anymore!

Everyone was deeply moved by Sun Yat-sen's confession of true feelings. They encouraged each other and raised more than 8,000 yuan on the spot. After the meeting, Sun Yat-sen went to the overseas Chinese to plan military pay in person, while Zhao Sheng and Huang Xing, the presidents of the Hong Kong League, returned to Hong Kong to make preparations. A few months later, through the efforts of everyone, a revolutionary fund of 157,000 yuan was finally raised. Once you have money, the rest will be easy to handle. Sun Yat-sen ordered Huang Xing, Hu Hanmin and Zhao Sheng to plan the uprising.Under the organization of these three people, a group of youths with an average age of less than 30 years old gathered in Guangzhou. They have different identities—students, members of the Hongmen Society, soldiers, farmers, or white-collar workers. They were full of pride and enthusiastically signed up to join the Death Squad (Shooting Front Team), condensed green blood as the blade, and sent themselves to the end of their lives with their own hands, without the slightest hesitation or shrinking back.

They die generously, but they are not lifeless, because they are real heroes!Heroes are great, and we appreciate their greatness. But I always think that a real hero must first be a mortal, and must be a mortal with flesh and blood.A flesh-and-blood mortal can look down on life and death for his faith, but it doesn't mean he has no worries, let alone that he can be indifferent to family, friendship and love. Therefore, before going to die, the death squads represented by "Bomb King" Yu Peilun and Lin Huiyin's cousin Lin Juemin shed tears and left suicide notes to say goodbye to their loved ones.In particular, Lin Juemin, a representative of a small number of married people, wrote a letter full of love to his wife Chen Yiying. This moving story was later included in the textbooks on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Among them, the sentence "When I wrote this book, I was still a person in the world; when you read this book, I have become a ghost in the underworld", read today a hundred years later. Still soul-stirring...

Finish the book, finish talking, dry your tears, and go to the battlefield! On April 27, 1911, the Guangzhou Uprising broke out.Huang Xing personally led more than 100 death-defying team members to the governor's building of Guangdong and Guangxi. They fought fiercely all night against an enemy ten times their own size. Eighty-six people died. Huang Xing cut off his fingers and the uprising failed.Later, the remains of seventy-two martyrs were collected and buried together in Huanghuagang, Guangzhou, so it was called Huanghuagang Seventy-two Martyrs. Knowing that they are outnumbered, they still want to fly to the flames, just because they are here to die.Desperate with flesh and blood to awaken the hearts of the people. But they died too tragically. They came from all over the world, and they were all the backbone of the League. Almost everyone was a general, but they were sacrificed as pawns who charged into the battle. Their collective sacrifice made the elites of the League lose their Exhausted.

However, their deaths have awakened the people of the country, excavated the conscience of the nation, and their deaths have pushed the wheel of history. Therefore, we should not think that their strength and methods are not skilled enough. Finally, we conclude this section with the four sentences in "The Generosity" written by Wang Jingwei in prison, let us recall that magnificent era together in this heroic poem:
