After Yue Zhong entered the salon, he soon became the central figure.Yue Zhong and Li Shizheng are from Baiyangdian, they have been in the queue for three years.Yue Zhong was about to be admitted by the Central Orchestra at that time, and he was a bass, while Li Shizheng thought he was a tenor who would "eternally be unable to sing high notes".Yue Zhong is very talented, his father is a screenwriter for Beijing Film Studio, and his family has a collection of four thousand books. At the age of 15, Yue Zhong was about to read all the yellow books such as "People, Years, Life" (Eisenberg), "Climbing Up" (John Bran). This is the condition of his precocity. At the age of 19, he wrote eight long poems including "March and the Doomsday". After that, he stopped writing for 15 years. His experience is like a child prodigy: middle school mathematics supplementary exam; Those who uglified were so happy that they went to the countryside to learn without a teacher. They stood on the bow of the boat in Baiyangdian and sang a few times before joining the Central Orchestra. At that time, Yue Zhong was still unknown as a poet in the salon, and the "lead violin" at that time was none other than Yiqun.

Li Shizheng and Yue Zhong have been inseparable since they were young.Li Shizheng said: "If there is no Yue Zhong's poems (or if there is no my hatred for his poems), I will not write poems." The three main leaders of the "Baiyangdian Poetry Group": Jiang Shiwei (pen name Mangke), Yue Zhong (pen name Genzi), and Li Shizheng (pen name Duoduo) met in 1964 before the "Cultural Revolution". Among them, they were divided into the seventh class of the first grade of junior high school. At the beginning of 1969, they went to Baiyangdian, Hebei Province together to jump in the queue. When he was in the second grade of junior high school, a composition written by Yue Zhong was published in the "Beijing Evening News". Yue Zhong once wrote some ancient poems. In commemoration of the 73rd anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, Yue Zhong wrote a poem: "In 1893, the red sun rose in Shaoshan, and the spring and autumn were 74, and the flames spread all over the world." Ming jumped in line to write a poem "Bu Suanzi": "I went to Mongolia for the Ming Dynasty, and climbed Kangzhuang Road. The northern border is frosty and cold, and Cheng Yuan's ambition is solid." Apart from these, none of these three people has ever written poetry. delusions.

One day in the summer of 1971, Mang Ke, Yue Zhong and others had been in the queue for more than a year. Mang Ke brought a poem written by himself to Yue Zhong and Duoduo.Yue Zhong's reaction at that time surprised Duoduo, "The blue flame of the blizzard..." He repeated a line of Munk's poem, as if he had eaten something sweet. However, Duoduo didn't have any premonition about the important relationship between Shi and Yue Zhong. At that time, Duoduo's notebooks contained Rommel's "Wartime Diary" and Garrodi's "Human Vision". On the eve of the Spring Festival in 1972, Yue Zhong brought the first shock to his life, which was "March and the Last Day".Duoduo sat on the toilet and read it several times. Not only did he not understand the text, but he felt that the poem deeply violated him, and he was angry with it!He felt that he didn't know what poetry was for a while, but later he found that he was insisting on the inherent concept of poetry: poetry should not be written like this.Yue Zhong's poems are different from all the poems he has read before (he has read Ai Qing's poems, and thinks that Ai Qing is the first poet since the Chinese vernacular), so Duoduo judges: this is not poetry.Just like the understanding of Guo Lusheng, it was only with the passage of time that Duoduo became more and more aware of Yue Zhong's ferocious inner world, and his poetry is inhuman and majestic.Later, Duoduo summed up Yue Zhong's image in one sentence: "Show off in the sky with carrion in his mouth."①

Following "March and the Doomsday", Yue Zhong wrote eight more poems in one go.Among them are "Orange Fog" and "Bridge Over the Abyss".Duoduo thought it was the best at the time, and later Yue Zhong also recognized this song.Unfortunately, most of his poems have been lost. "March and the Last Day" was the most modern poem in the underground poetry circle at that time, with a total of 98 lines. An excerpt follows: Since / the earth is so weak because of its vastness, since he / is so dissolute because of its old age / since he spares / the hanging after every elopement, since / he never strives to forge one, the earth should be / simple and magnificent Soul/since his mighty blood has long been silent/since he has no wisdom/no pride/much less a/solemn heart/then, my nineteen burials have already been/built with the ribs of the earth in spring The finished bonfire/burned into rising smoke/with my featherless wings--indifference/flew away from the earth about to cheer, no/first desperately grasping the earth-this wooden boat drifting to the sea of fire, no/ want to pull it back...

"March and the Last Day" After Yue Zhong's poems were introduced to the salon, Xu Haoyuan immediately asserted, "Yue Zhong is a master of poetry, no one can match Yue Zhong's poems."
