Chapter 23 Pu Yi: From "Ruling" to "Emperor"

On March 1, 1934, the puppet Manchukuo was changed to an imperial system, and Puyi changed from "ruling" to the "emperor" of the puppet Manchukuo, with the year name Kant. But all the power in the Puppet Manchukuo was in the hands of the Japanese, and the commander of the Kwantung Army was the Supreme Emperor of Manchukuo and the governor of Manchuria and Mongolia. The fourth section was specially set up in the Kwantung Army Headquarters, which was specifically responsible for the manipulation of Puyi and the puppet Manchukuo. In addition, a permanent representative was sent to supervise Puyi.Among them, Yoshioka Yasunao, who has served the longest, closely monitored Puyi's every word and deed in the name of the so-called "Emperor's Imperial Palace", so he himself was promoted from Zhong Zuo to Lieutenant General of the Army.

"Manchukuo" was formally an independent country, but in fact it had become a colony of Japanese imperialism.Until 1934, except for a very small number of fascist allies such as Italy, most countries in the world refused to recognize this puppet regime.
