Chapter 47 5. Only Chairman Tan is left in the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee

One day in late July 1934, Niutianyu, Yongxin County, where the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee was located. In the middle of the night, the entire Niutianyu fell into a quiet and deep sleep, and the officers and soldiers of the Red Army who had been busy all day had already fallen asleep. However, at this moment, Tan Yubao, Chairman of the Provincial Soviet, could not close his eyes and fall asleep. After dinner, he has been sitting under the big camphor tree at the door of the house, silently, smoking one bag after another of the hookah that has accompanied him for many years. His mind was overwhelmed, the two incompatible extremes of the past and the future were intertwined and confused in his mind at the same time, disturbing his mind and making it difficult to sleep...

A few days ago, the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee finally received the "7-2-3 Order" from the Central Secretariat and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission, although it was too late. The instruction pointed out that the Red Sixth Army left the current Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area and moved to the central part of Hunan to develop and expand guerrilla warfare and create a new Soviet Area. After receiving the order, the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the Sixth Red Army immediately followed the spirit of the order, held a political work meeting for the entire army, carried out in-depth ideological work mobilization, reorganized and supplemented the army, and expanded the army to nearly ten thousand people. At the same time, intense action preparations were also carried out, such as playing straw sandals, making dry food, replenishing ammunition and conducting various drills, and meticulously studied the direction and methods of breaking out.

Of course, the Secretariat of the Central Committee and the Central Revolutionary Military Commission also made clear arrangements for the organization and leadership of the Red Sixth Army Corps on the western expedition and the personnel arrangements for the left-behind Hunan and Jiangxi Provincial Committees: Xiao Ke, head of the regiment, and Wang Zhen, a political commissar, formed the Military and Political Committee of the Sixth Red Army, with Ren Bi, the representative of the Central Committee, as chairman. The left-behind Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area Provincial Party Committee had Chen Hongshi as its secretary, Tan Yubao as the chairman of the provincial Soviet, and Peng Huiming as the commander of the military area. They led the struggle in the Soviet area and waited for the victory of the main Red Army.

Time is running out.Last night, Tan Yubao said goodbye to Ren Bishi, Wang Zhen, Xiao Ke, Gan Siqi, Zhang Ziyi and other old comrades who led the transfer.A few hours ago, Wang Huzi and Wang Zhen left as a striker, and Ren Huzi will leave tomorrow, and in a few days the main force will also leave... Thinking of this, Tan Yubao felt even more depressed. He took a puff of cigarette, and then let it out long. He didn't want to stay either.Obviously, it would take a lot of risk to stay, even life and death.Because as soon as the main Red Army left, the hundreds of thousands of Kuomintang troops would pounce on them, while the remaining troops had only the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth independent regiments, with only 3,000 men and guns.Of course, Tan Yubao didn't want to stay because of this.Since joining the Communist Party of China, he has given everything to the party. He joined the party in 1927, and was elected as the director of the Preparatory Committee of the Agricultural Association of Taoshui Township, Chaling County, Hunan Province, in his hometown.Later, he successively served as secretary of the fifth, sixth, and seventh district committees of the Communist Party of China in Chaling County, secretary of the Communist Party of China's Chaanling Special Zone, and chairman Su of the Communist Party of China in Chaling County. In August 1932, he was elected as the vice chairman and minister of finance of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. From April 1933 onwards, he was elected Chairman of the Provincial Soviet Union. He has participated in the revolution for so many years, braved the hail of guns and bullets, and went through life and death, how has he ever been afraid! He is reluctant to leave those close comrades who share weal and woe!

Of course, he was dissatisfied with the personnel arrangements left behind, and he was unwilling to match up with the new Provincial Party Secretary Chen Hongshi. Chen Hongshi, a native of Pingxiang, Jiangxi. After graduating from Pingxiang Middle School, he was admitted to Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. He was arrested for leading a student movement at the school. He was rescued by the CCP and sent to Moscow Oriental University to study. He joined the Communist Party of China. Secretary of Tai and Le'an County Party Committees. In April 1933, the Central Bureau of the Soviet Area appointed him to act as secretary of the Hunan Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and in May he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee.Chen Hongshi and Ren Bishi were classmates of different classes at the Oriental University in Moscow, the Soviet Union.Ren Huzi looked very serious, but Chen Hongshi was a bit gloomy. Tan Yubao didn't like Chen Hongshi, especially when Chen Hong was the acting secretary at the time, the comrades in Hunan, Jiangxi and Hunan were unscrupulous, which left a deep impression on Tan Yu.In addition, this person lacks practical work experience, has serious individualism, likes to be self-righteous, and does not get along well with many comrades.

Therefore, when the Provincial Party Committee determined Chen Hongshi to be the Secretary of the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee according to the instructions of the Central Committee, comrades such as Ren Bishi, Zhang Ziyi, Wu Defeng, Xiao Ke, and Wang Zhen all disagreed. It was decided to leave Chen Hongshi as the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. "Let's just stay, don't think so much. At this critical juncture, I will try my best to coordinate with him." Tan Yubao said silently in his heart. Before I knew it, the sky was already bright.Tan Yubao stood up, shook his heavy head, went inside and wiped his face with cold water, finished his breakfast hastily, and resumed his work without resting or answering the guards who persuaded him to rest.

On August 7, more than 9,000 troops of the Sixth Red Army set off from Hengshi and Xinjiangkou in Suichuan, and embarked on a long journey to the west with the cooperation of the Fourth Red Independence Regiment. The Red Sixth Army's breakout did not relieve the pressure on the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area. The Kuomintang authorities have been working hard to "encircle and suppress" the Central Soviet Area for many years. They are very clear about the strategic significance of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area to the Central Soviet Area. To completely destroy the Central Soviet Area, it is impossible to completely "clear up" the right-wing Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area. Therefore, while most of the Hunan Army pursued the Sixth Red Army, the Kuomintang authorities did not give the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area a chance to breathe, and still used heavy troops to "suppress" the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area.

Between September and October, Li Yunjie's 23rd Division, Li Baobing's 53rd Division, Luo Lin's 77th Division, Wang Dongyuan's 15th Division, and Zhu Yaohua's 18th Division were stationed in Ji'an , Anfu, Suichuan, Taihe, Lianhua, Chaling and other places, with the full assistance of the local reactionary forces in Jiangxi, with a total force of 60,000 to 70,000, a new encirclement of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet area was formed around the Hunan-Jiangxi border. However, Chen Hongshi, secretary of the provincial party committee and political commissar of the military region, did not realize the dire situation. He still believed optimistically that the situation in the Soviet area was beginning to improve. Temporarily calm.Under such circumstances, the troops in the Soviet area should attack everywhere, expand their influence, defend the Soviet area, wait for the main force to return, and then restore the lost base in one fell swoop. As the top leader of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area, Chen Hongshi also used his power to formulate this idea into a resolution to guide the struggle in the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area, but he did not accept the advice of Tan Yubao and Peng Huiming to fight guerrilla warfare.

Under the guidance of this "Left" leaning decision, the Red Army in the Soviet area attacked everywhere and fought the enemy head-on. Although they fought bravely, due to the disparity in strength, they hit a stone with an egg, and the consequences were immediately revealed: the Red Soldiers and the Red Soldiers were disbanded. The Third Red Independent Regiment was forced to break through from Yongxin Lime Bridge and moved to the Taishan base area. In this way, the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area was divided and surrounded by the Kuomintang army into more than a dozen pieces. The connection between Niutianyu, where the provincial party, government, and military organs are located, and the upper, lower, left, and right sides has also been severed, and it is difficult for party and government organs to gain a foothold in Niutianxu.

In mid-October, the dejected Provincial Party Secretary Chen Hongshi called Tan Yubao, Peng Huiming and other party, government and military leaders to hold an emergency meeting in Niutianyu to study the transfer of troops. At that time, the situation was very urgent. Everyone was in agreement on the transfer, but there was still some dispute on where to transfer. As soon as the question of where the troops were transferred was raised, there was a lot of discussion in the venue.Someone proposed to transfer to Jinggangshan, the old base area. Chairman Tan immediately stood up and expressed his opposition. He said: "Jinggangshan is very close to Niutian, and the guerrilla conditions are also very good, but we can't go there now. In 1930, Wang Zuo and Yuan Wencai were killed, and their old troops were killed overnight. All turned against the water, both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, we have no mass base there, we can't go!"

Tan Yubao looked at everyone present, and said, "I thought we should advance to Wugong Mountain." After finishing speaking, he walked quickly to the dilapidated map on the wall, pointed to the map and said, "Wugong Mountain is located on the border of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, crossing the Luoxiao Mountains, and straddling West Jiangxi and Hunan from northeast to southwest. To the east, it stretches for more than 160 kilometers. The mountains are tall and large, with dense forests, overlapping mountains, and dangerous mountains. There are also dozens of peaks such as Taiping Mountain, Ganzi Mountain, Qipan Mountain, Tiejing Mountain, and Wuli Mountain. With a radius of more than 800 miles, there is a lot of room for maneuver, and it is an ideal world for advancing and attacking, retreating and defending, and conducting guerrilla activities." After a short pause, Tan Yubao went on to say: "This place is also rich in food, and there are wild vegetables, bamboo shoots, fern roots and other things to satisfy hunger on the mountain. More importantly, the mountain people here are simple, and it is an old Soviet area. People's hearts are toward the Communist Party. There is a good class basis." The commander of the military region, Peng Huiming, who was silent next to him, took up the conversation at this moment and added: "In the guerrilla attack in the Wugong mountain area, we can also take advantage of the internal conflicts between the enemies in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces to preserve and develop ourselves." Chen Hongshi, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, did not say anything, but he did not express any objection either. Of course he did not want to express any objection. When he came to Wugong, his hometown was near the northwest of Shanxi, but he could not return home for ten years. He really wanted to take the opportunity to go home and have a look. .Secondly, in the face of the grim situation, he really didn't know where the troops should go, not to mention that two of the "Big Three" agreed, so why should he be the target of public criticism! In this way, on October 18, 1934, under the condition of high secrecy, the party, government and military organs of the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the Fifth Red Independence Regiment left the long-term operating center of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area and moved towards Wugong Mountain.Passing through Tianhe and Aocheng in Ji'an, crossing Jintian, Yantian, Hukeng and other places in Anfu, broke through multiple blockades and entered the Taishan base area on the 31st, joining the independent third regiment that had broken through earlier. The provincial party, government and military organs are stationed in Yuanjia Village, Anfu. However, after arriving in the Wugong Mountains, Chen Hongshi, the main person in charge of the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Military Region, who was deeply affected by "Left" errors, relapsed. He did not take into account his original intention of marching into the Wugong Mountains, and he did not adopt guerrilla warfare in the military. Instead, he still followed the "Left" line of struggle strategies and struggle methods: fighting during the day, camping at night, burning bunkers, Fighting militias, fighting bullies, distributing food, posting slogans, and engaging in propaganda are vigorous and powerful, revealing the goals of the troops. When a powerful enemy attacks, they adopt the passive defensive method of blockhouse against blockhouse, fighting desperately, lacking an overall grasp of the future of the entire struggle, and always pinning their hopes on "the Red Army will win a few big battles, and the enemy will withdraw, and the Soviet area will be defeated." It will be restored, and a vigorous revolutionary situation will come."As a result, the Hunan-Jiangxi Red Army guerrillas who traveled thousands of miles to Wugong Mountain were passively beaten as soon as they entered Wugong Mountain. The committee was exposed and transferred to Changyuantou and Lutai villages in Anfu. In late December, the 1st Division of the 53rd Division of the Kuomintang Army assembled security groups from Lianhua and Pingxiang, and went straight to Changyuan and Lutai Village, where the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee was stationed. The Third Independent Regiment and the Fifth Regiment launched a positional battle with them, fighting from morning to night, and finally retreated in the dark due to being outnumbered. So far, all the Soviet areas in Hunan, Jiangxi, and Jiangxi were lost; in late January 1935, Luo Lin, the 77th Division of the Kuomintang, Located in the Wugong mountain area, the Ministry set fire to the mountain, and adopted the tactics of combing and combing to "suppress" the Red Army guerrillas. At the beginning of February, Peng Huiming, the commander of the military region assigned by the Provincial Party Committee to command operations outside the mountain, was unfortunately shot and died in the battle of Hutouling in Lianhua; During the activities in the Ping area, it was attacked by the 460th Regiment of the 77th Division of the Kuomintang Army. During the retreat, only one radio station was damaged. The battle connection failed, and the troops in the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area, which the enemy called "the bereaved dog", were already exhausted and their military might was at a loss. Especially the sacrifice of the military commander Peng Huiming caused a heavy and huge shock wave in the troops. Peng Huiming, a native of Guangxi, a member of the Communist Party of China, participated in the Baise Uprising led by Deng Xiaoping, Wei Baqun and Zhang Yunyi in December 1929. In 1931, he entered the Hunan-Jiangxi Revolutionary Base with the Red Army and stayed in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area to work. He served as the captain of the Red Guard Brigade in Yongxin County, the head of the 51st Regiment of the 17th Red Division, and the commander of the third division. In October 1934, He was appointed as the commander of the Hunan-Jiangxi Military Region by the Central Revolutionary Military Commission.Peng Huiming is a commander of the Red Army with both civil and military skills. He is at the front of the battle and is very kind to his subordinates. He is also good at ideological and political work and enjoys a high prestige in the army. The sacrifice of Commander Peng Huiming aroused a sense of pessimism and loss in the Hunan-Jiangxi Red Army, and the "rebellion" among the troops spread rapidly like the plague, especially the mutiny of some important leaders.First, Xiao Xinglin, vice chairman of the Provincial Soviet Union, then Tan Fuying, political commissar of the Fifth Red Regiment, Kuang Zhuquan, political commissar of the Fourth Red Regiment, and Li Zongbao, head of the Fourth Red Regiment... In this way, within half a year, the five independent regiments after the transfer of the Sixth Red Army Leading cadres either sacrificed or rebelled, leaving only two: one is Liu Peishan, the political commissar of the Third Red Regiment, and the other is Zeng Kaifu, the head of the Fifth Red Regiment. The entire Hunan and Jiangxi troops were filled with an atmosphere of failure! In May 1935, the Standing Committee of the Hunan-Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee was held in Taiping Mountain, the temporary residence of the party and government organs in Hunan-Jiangxi. The provincial party secretary Chen Hongshi (now also the commander of the military region) presided over the meeting. Tan Yubao, the chairman of the provincial Soviet Union, and the provincial party committee publicized Minister Tan Tangchi, Minister of Women's Movement Kuang Jinyuan, Director of the White Area Work Department Liu Binggao, Secretary-General of the Provincial Party Committee Long Chengxu and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Wang Yongji attended the meeting. The meeting was held in a hut temporarily built with moso bamboo under towering ancient trees on Taiping Mountain. All the participants sat upright, with stern expressions, and the atmosphere seemed dignified and tense. Chen Hongshi, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, sighed and spoke with a wry smile. He said, "Comrades, the current situation is getting worse and worse. Our troops have been beaten to the brim, and the main force of the Red Army is still unknown. Can't get in touch, it seems that we need to change the way we fight." He paused for a moment, looked around, and then slowly said: "I think, since the current situation is not good for us, instead of sitting in the mountains and waiting for death, it is better to transfer the provincial party committee to Anyuan, rely on the workers, and carry out the urban struggle! " As soon as the words fell, Tan Yubao, Chairman of the Provincial Soviet Union, stood up with a "huh", pointing at Chen Hong, and said: "At the beginning, the army still had strength, so you had to fight hard. Now, you have lost all your money. You want to transfer to the white area, what are you doing?" Tan Yubao seemed very excited, his voice was loud and his eyes were wide open, and then he scolded sharply: "You are escapism! The move out of Wugong Mountain by the provincial party committee is definitely not a struggle, it is an escape! The Party Central Committee wants us to stay, it is for Hunan and Jiangxi The Border Region insists that the red flag not fall down is to let the people in the Soviet Area see hope! The red flag is rolled up, so what is there to talk about, what is there to talk about? Wugong Mountain is so big, and the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area is so big, why should we go to the White Area?" Wang Yongji, Secretary of the Youth League Provincial Committee, also stood up and reprimanded in a moderate tone: "Old Chen, it is wrong to do that, and you will make mistakes in the future!" Facing Tan Yubao's angry reprimand and Wang Yongji's reprimand, Chen Hongshi broke out in a cold sweat. He forced a smile on his face and argued: "Old Tan, don't be so angry, aren't we discussing this? Besides, these are just some of my personal thoughts. If it doesn't work, let's make another plan!" At this moment, there was silence again in the hut.At that time, it is impossible to study the mentality of other comrades. After a while, Chen Hongshi hesitated to speak, and finally spoke, but this time his tone was more cautious. He said: "Comrades, I have another plan here for everyone to discuss. In view of the current bad situation, so that the red flag of Hunan and Jiangxi will not fall, I suggest that we divide our troops into two groups to avoid too large a combat goal. One way is for me Together with comrades Long Chengxu, Kuang Jinyuan, and Liu Binggao, they stayed at Taiping Mountain, contacted the North Road, and opened up a white area; along the way, Lao Tan and Comrade Liu Fayun, director of the Political Security Bureau, went to southern Hunan to contact Cai Huiwen and Fang Weixia, looking for the lost Red Five The regiment, clean up the mess, organize the armed forces, and then develop. In addition, comrades Tan Tangchi and Wang Yongji can go to the Lian'anping Special Committee to carry out mass work." This suggestion was finally accepted by the participating comrades. After the meeting, Tan Yubao, Wang Yongji, and Tan Tangchi all left the provincial party committee and headed towards the planned goal. After Tan Yubao and the others left, Chen Hongshi sent Liu Binggao, head of the White Area Work Department, to Pingxiang to do mass work, Kuang Jinyuan to Wenshui area of You County to work, and several lesbians such as Yi Xiangsu and Duan Chuying were placed on the mountain The trafficman's home. In early June 1935, he himself left Taiping Mountain with his wife Zhang Yunxiu, Secretary-General Long Chengxu, doctors and members of the secret service team, and came to Hamo Mountain on the border of Pingxiang and Youxian. On June 14, Chen Hongshi defected to the enemy in his hometown of Pingxiang. Long Chengxu, who was the secretary-general at the time, had a memory, describing in more detail the process of Chen Hongshi's rebellion, as described in the article: After Tan Yubao left, Chen Hongshi took us to live in Nanshan for five days... On the fifth day of the lunar calendar, Chen Hongshi led us from the hut in Taiping Mountain to a house surnamed Gong not far from the hut for lunch. After lunch, Chen Hongshi found me and the translator, and said that this operation was to go to Pingxiang to organize the provincial party committee and transfer to underground activities in the city, and asked me and the translator to stay there until Pingxiang was done. Go to Pingxiang.So... the two of us were left behind. In the evening of the same day, Chen Hongshi took his wife Zhang Yunxiu, spy squad leader, doctor and soldiers, nine people in total, to Chen Hongshi's home in Pingxiang at night. On the tenth night of the fifth lunar month, Chen Hongshi sent a plainclothes officer to Gong's house. The plainclothes said that Chen Hongshi asked him to come and meet us, and that the work was done over there... That night, under the leadership of plainclothes, the two of us rushed to Chen's house overnight, and arrived at dawn... After dinner, Chen Hongshi asked me, the translator, the doctor, the spy squad leader, and the soldiers to talk together.Chen Hongshi said: "The Red Army has left here for a long time. We cannot work or survive here. If we want to save our lives, we have to surrender to the Kuomintang." On the 11th, a pig was killed at Chen Hongshi's house, and seven or eight tables of banquets were set up.In addition to us, there are also... KMT government officials. After breakfast, the Kuomintang government sent two platoons of troops, and one platoon accompanied us on foot to Laoguan Station to catch a train to Pingxiang, where we surrendered to the Pingxiang County Government. The other platoon stayed at Chen Hongshi's home and carried out protection work, fearing that Tan Yubao would send the Red Army to raid Chen Hongshi's home. The day after we arrived in Pingxiang, Wei Suzhong (Magistrate of Pingxiang, Commander of the "Communist Suppression" Command in the Second District of Jiangxi Province, Commissioner of the Second Administrative Office) made a special trip to Nanchang to ask us about our surrender. After waiting for more than 20 days, he did not return to Pingxiang.According to the receptionist, those of us who surrendered are not ordinary people. Chen is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the secretary of the Hunan and Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee. Xiong Shihui, chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Government, can't handle it. We have to report to the Nanjing government to solve it... Later, when Chen Hongshi's defection came to Nanjing, Chiang Kai-shek personally intervened and sent a telegram to Wei Suzhong. The quasi-committee Chen was a colonel recruiter in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area and stayed in the Fourth Security Regiment to work.Chen Hongshi tried his best to serve the reactionary Kuomintang government, leading the local security team to the mountains every day to "clear and suppress" the Red Army guerrillas, and specialized in "recruiting" the work. Chen Hongshi rebelled in this way.Comrade Ren Bishi, who was on the Long March, learned of Chen Hongshi's rebellion, and said to Xiao Ke, Wang Zhen, Zhang Ziyi and other comrades seriously: "Comrade Tan Yubao did not agree with Chen Hongshi's stay at that time, and we did not listen to his opinion..." Due to Chen Hongshi's rebellion, the original "Big Three" of the Hunan Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China is now only Tan Yubao.Party organizations in the border regions of Hunan and Jiangxi were also destroyed, the revolutionary struggle in Hunan and Jiangxi fell into chaos and collapsed, and the flames of revolution in Hunan and Jiangxi were about to be extinguished! However, the red flag in the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Area was crooked but not toppled, yet it was held high again in the end! This person is Tan Yubao, chairman of the Soviet of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. After the Taipingshan Standing Committee, Tan Yubao and Liu Fayun, director of the Political Security Bureau, went to southern Hunan to look for Cai and Fang's troops. On June 20, they came to the mountain near Yaoshui Huapeng Village in Chaling County.Liu Fayun made an excuse to go home and take a look, but he never returned.Tan Yubao realized that his southward movement had been exposed, and at the same time he was worried about the provincial party committee on Taiping Mountain, so he rushed back to Wugong Mountain day and night. When he met Wu Jinlian, Secretary of the Chayoulian County Party Committee at Qipanshan, he learned that Chen Hongshi, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, had defected to the enemy. So he stayed in Qipanshan and sent Wu Jinlian down the mountain to contact the lost comrades. In July, Tan Yubao presided over an emergency meeting of the Hunan and Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, which is the famous "Qishanshan" meeting on the border of Hunan and Jiangxi. The meeting announced the abolition of the original provincial party, government and military organs, and the establishment of a temporary provincial party committee with Tan Yubao as secretary, a provincial military and political committee with Tan Yubao as chairman, and a guerrilla headquarters with Zeng Kaifu as commander. The new leadership organization reconfirmed the struggle strategy of relying on Wugong Mountain and conducting guerrilla warfare in adjacent areas. Since then, the struggle in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area has come out of the trough, turned from decline to prosperity, and persisted until the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937. In February 1938, the guerrilla troops in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area were reorganized into a brigade and a brigade of the New Fourth Army, and were ordered to go to the front line of the Anti-Japanese War. In September 1938, Tan Yubao, who was the Secretary of the Hunan-Jiangxi Border Special Committee of the Communist Party of China at that time, went to Yan'an to attend the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in September 1938. He stayed for recuperation due to a lung attack and entered Yan'an Marxist-Leninist Party. College study. After liberation, Tan Yubao successively served as the vice chairman of the Hunan Provincial Government, director of the Supervisory Committee, deputy secretary of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, deputy secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, secretary of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, and deputy governor. In 1963, he was transferred to be the leader of the supervision team of the Central South Bureau and a member of the Standing Committee of the Central South Bureau. In 1978, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. In January 1980, Tan Yubao died of illness in Beijing, completing his 81 years of legendary and glorious life.
