Chapter 11 7. The Battle of Gaoping

In this century, the fate of the Chinese people is even more miserable than in the last (ninth) century. From the Anlushan Mutiny in the middle of the eighth century to the end of the ninth century, it lasted for 145 years; I have always believed that whether it is extremely certain or not, the crisis is the turning point, and the disaster will always pass. Unexpectedly, since the 1960s, China has fallen into a dark age until the 10th century. At the beginning of the tenth century, the long-ill Tang Dynasty finally perished.China was divided by separatist regimes, we call it the "Era of Minor Separation", which is the symmetry of the "Era of Great Separation".Second, the split period was shorter, only seventy-three years. In the era of the small division, five short-lived empires were established in the Central Plains, and eleven short-lived empires, short-lived kingdoms, or short-lived political entities were established in other lands, so it is also called the "Era of Five Dynasties and Eleven Kingdoms".Everywhere you look, nothing but war is still war; nothing but hunger is still hunger; nothing but killing is still killing.Emperors, generals and ministers are nothing but a group of wild beasts.

It was not until the Song Dynasty unified China in the 1970s that the people took a breather, but the territory was two-thirds smaller than that of the Han and Tang Dynasties. After the catastrophe, China will no longer be as glorious as before. 1. In spring, on the fifth day of the first lunar month, Emperor Liu Zhiyuan (the first great ancestor) of the Later Han Empire (capital of Kaifeng Prefecture) issued an edict of amnesty and changed the year name to Qianyou (before it was the 13th year of Tianfu, and then it was Qianyou first year). Liu Zhiyuan was very worried because Zhao Kuangzan (commander of Jinchang) and Hou Yi (commander of Fengxiang) surrendered and invaded Shu (the capital of Chengdu).Coincidentally, the envoys sent by the Uyghur tribe (living in the central and western part of Gansu Province) to pay tribute to the Later Han government were obstructed by the Dangxiang tribe (in the Hetao area of the Yellow River) (Since the 1930s, Dangxiang had been plundering the tribute envoys from the east. The first month of 1932) requested to send troops to eliminate it.Liu Zhiyuan sent Zuowei (First Army of the Guards) General Wang Jingchong and General Qi Zangzhen to lead thousands of forbidden troops to deal with Dangxiang, and took advantage of the situation to manage Guanxi (west of Tongguan).Li Shu, the military executive officer of Jinchang (Jiedu judge), has been Zhao Yanshou (Liu Yanshou)'s staff for a long time, and Zhao Yanshou sent him to assist his son Zhao Kuangzan. When Zhao Kuangzan was about to defect to Hou Shu (refer to October 1947), Li Shu dissuaded him and said: "Would King Yan (Zhao Yanshou) enter the wilderness north willingly (Zhao Yanshou was locked up, refer to last May)? The Hou Han government recently Established, is doing its best to solicit appeasement. If you admit your mistake, return to the central government, keep and enjoy the glory and wealth. Going to Houshu is not the best way. The ancients said: A puddle as small as a horseshoe cannot accommodate a carp that is one foot long. ("Hoof You will regret it endlessly." Zhao Kuangzan then sent Li Shu to Kaifeng (Kaifeng City, Henan Province) to submit the memorial, requesting permission for him to come to the Central Committee See you.Wang Jingchong and others had not yet arrived in Jingzhao (Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province) and Li Shu had arrived in Kaifeng. Liu Zhiyuan asked Li Shu, "Why did Zhao Kuangzan surrender to Shu?" Li Shu replied: "Zhao Kuangzan thought he accepted the barbarian (Liao) leader. The appointment of my father (Zhao Yanshou) is also working in the barbarian government, fearing that His Majesty will not pay attention for a while, so he returned to Shu, and only wanted to escape to die temporarily. I think the central government will definitely protect and appease, so I was sent to beg." Liu Zhiyuan said: "Zhao Kuangzan and his son were originally our own people. Unfortunately, they were trapped in the barbarian's lair. Now, Zhao Yanshou fell into the trap. How can I have the heart to hurt Zhao Kuangzan again!" Zhao Kuangzan was approved to meet with the central government. At this time, Hou Yi also changed his position and asked to go to the capital (the capital city of Kaifeng) to congratulate Liu Zhiyuan on February 4th, his birthday. On the eve of the departure of Wang Jingchong and other troops, Liu Zhiyuan summoned Wang Jingchong to the bedroom and said, "We don't know what Zhao Kuangzan and Hou Yi are really thinking. When you get there, if the two of you have already set off for the capital, you will not be held accountable. If you are still procrastinating, you should play it by ear."

On the 9th day of the first lunar month, Liu Zhiyuan changed his name to Liu Hao (we still call him Liu Zhiyuan), and ordered Feng Dao, the former commander (Jiedushi) of Wesun (headquarters in Dengzhou) to be the grand teacher (one of the three divisions). 2. On the twelfth day of the first lunar month, Qian Hongchu (the fifth Zhongyi king) Qian Hongchu (20 years old this year. Chu, sound chu), the king of Wuyue Kingdom (capital Hangzhou) sent the deposed former king (fourth Zhongxun king) Qian Hongchu He moved out of the palace and moved to the private house of Yijin Army (Lin'an City, Zhejiang Province), and sent Xue Wen, the commander of Kuangwu Operations (the head of Kuangwu Capital), to lead his own army to protect him.Secretly warned him: "If there is an extraordinary punishment, it is definitely not my intention. I want you to resist until death."

3. Since the death of the eldest son, Wei Wang Liu Chengxun (refer to December 1947), Liu Zhiyuan, the emperor of the later Han Dynasty (the first great ancestor), has been in grief. On the fourteenth day of the first lunar month, Liu Zhiyuan finally fell ill. Zhao Kuangzan left Chang'an (the county where Jingzhao Mansion is located) and traveled eastward without waiting for Li Shu to come back to report. On the twenty-sixth day of the first lunar month, Zhao Kuangzan arrived in the capital. When Wang Jingchong arrived in Chang'an, he heard that the Houshu army had entered Qinchuan (the north and south banks of the Weihe River, the land is fertile, commonly known as "Qinchuan eight hundred miles", which is synonymous with Guanxi and Guanzhong).Wang Jingchong dispatched more than 1,000 field troops from the Jinchang Theater (headquartered in Jingzhao Mansion) and Zhao Kuangzan's garrison troops to intercept them because there were too few imperial troops.Wang Jingchong was afraid that Zhao Kuangzan's garrison soldiers would flee and planned to tattoo their faces. As a test, an officer named Zhao Siwan responded first, willing to start with his own face. As an example, Wang Jingchong was very happy.General Qi Zangzhen secretly warned Wang Jingchong, saying: "Zhao Siwan is vicious and violent, and it is difficult to control. It is better to kill him." Wang Jingchong refused.Zhao Siwan is from Yedu (Guangjin Prefecture, Daming County, Hebei Province).

4. Li Tinggui (refer to December 1947), the Chief Prosecutor of Fengluan Suwei in the Later Shu Empire (Chengdu, the capital), led the army to advance to Chang'an. He heard that Zhao Kuangzan had repented and had already gone to Kaifeng, the capital of the Later Han Dynasty. During the court meeting (Zhao Kuangzan surrendered to Shu, refer to October 1947), he planned to retreat.Wang Jingchong sent troops to intercept and defeated Li Tinggui's army in Ziwu Valley (north of Ningshan County, Shaanxi Province).Zhang Qianzhao, another commander of the later Shu Dynasty, advanced to Baoji (Baoji City, Shaanxi Province). The generals talked a lot and couldn't agree, so they stayed where they were. When Hou Yi heard the news of Li Tinggui's retreat, he immediately closed the gates of the city and refused to allow the Hou Shu army to enter the city. Zhang Qianzhao was alone and led his army to escape at night.Wang Jingchong assembled Fengxiang (Fengxiang County, Shaanxi Province), Long (Long County, Shaanxi Province), Bing (Bin County, Shaanxi Province), Jing (Jingchuan County, Gansu Province), Fu (Fuxian County, Shaanxi Province), Fang (Huangling County, Shaanxi Province) ) The troops from various prefectures pursued and defeated the Houshu Army at Sanguan (southwest of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province), and captured 400 soldiers alive (Later Shu sent Li Tinggui to welcome Zhao Kuangzan and Zhang Qianzhao to welcome Hou Yi, refer to December 1947 ).

5. On the twenty-seventh day of the first lunar month, Liu Zhiyuan, Emperor of the Later Han Dynasty, was seriously ill and was dying. Yang Bin sent a speech to Liu Xin, the commander-in-chief of the cavalry of the royal bodyguard (the commander of the guard and horse army), and the commander of the Yao and Zhongwu theater (headquartered in Xuzhou). (Liu Zhiyuan's cousin), suspicious and suspicious, ordered him to leave immediately and go to the office where he was on business.Liu Xin asked to see Liu Zhiyuan in person to say goodbye, but Yang Bin refused. Liu Xin burst into tears, tears pouring down like rain, and left in grief.

Liu Zhiyuan summoned Su Fengji, Yang Bin, Shi Hongzhao, and Guo Wei, four confidant cadres, into the palace to accept the will, and said: "I have exhausted my strength, I have difficulty breathing, and I can't talk much. Chengyou is still young, and the future depends on you." He also said: " Watch out for Du Chongwei!" On the same day (the 27th day of the first lunar month), he passed away in the Long Live Hall (he was 54 years old this year), and Su Fengji and others blocked the news and did not release it to the public. On the 30th day of the first lunar month, an imperial edict was issued in the name of Liu Zhiyuan, saying: "Du Chongwei and his sons, when I was sick, slandered and commented, incited the masses, and shook the morale of the army. Du Chongwei and his sons Du Hongzhang, Du Honglian, and Du Hongcan should all be beheaded." Ms. Shi (wife of Du Chongwei), the princess of the late Jin Dynasty, and other relatives far and near will not be held accountable." Du Chongwei's body was dragged to the market, and his limbs were cut off for public display. The residents rushed to cut off his flesh and devoured it, but the executioner couldn't stop him. After a while, all the flesh was cut off, leaving only a pair of bones.

On February 1st, an edict was issued in the name of Liu Zhiyuan, and Liu Chengyou, the prince, general of the left guard (the first army of the guard), and chief retinue officer of the palace (checked by the inner capital) was made the king of Zhou and the second-level real prime minister (the same Ping Zhang thing).Soon, the news of Liu Zhiyuan's death was announced, and the will was read out, ordering Liu Chengyou to inherit the throne (the second hidden emperor).Liu Chengyou is eighteen years old this year. 6. Han Baozhen and Pang Fucheng, directors of court affairs (Xuanhui envoys) of the Later Shu Dynasty, led their troops to retreat from Longzhou (Longxian County, Shaanxi Province) and returned to the country (Han Baozhen and Zhang Qianzhao attacked at the same time, refer to December 1947), and threatened He Jianjian (commander Xiongwu) went west together. On the same day, Han Baozhen and others arrived in Qinzhou (northwest of Qin'an County, Gansu Province), and sent troops to guard all the city gates and traffic arteries. He Jianjian has since settled in Houshu.

7. On February 7th, Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty honored his mother-in-law, Ms. Li, as the empress dowager. The central government knew that the alternate commander of Chengde (Headquarters in Zhenzhou) (remaining behind) Bai Zairong (Bai Mazhen) was not a general. On February 10, Liu Chengyou ordered Liu Zaiming, the alternate commander of the former Jianxiong theater (headquartered in Jinju), to take over. On February 13th, Liu Chengyou issued an edict of amnesty. 8. He Chengxun, commander of the inner battalion (commander of the inner teeth) of Wuyue (the capital Hangzhou), suggested that Qian Hongchu, the king of Wuyue (the fifth king of Zhongyi), kill Hu Jinsi and his party members. Qian Hongchu was very angry with his capricious attitude. Disgusted (He Chengxun betrayed the former king Qian Hongyi to Hu Jinsi, refer to December 1947), and at the same time, he was afraid of causing disaster.

On February 15th, Qian Hongchu ordered He Chengxun to be arrested and beheaded. Hu Jinsi, the Commander of the Inner Battalion (Envoy of the Neiya Commander), repeatedly asked Qian Hongchu, the abolished king (fourth king of Zhongxun), to kill future troubles, but Qian Hongchu refused.Hu Jinsi falsely passed on Qian Hongchu's secret order, and ordered Xue Wen, the head of the guard, to attack nearby. Xue Wen said: "I didn't hear this on the day I arrived on mission, so I didn't dare to act rashly." An and the other two jumped into the wall at night. Qian Hongzhen, who was under house arrest, found out that he closed the door to resist and shouted "help". Then he went to the palace to report to Qian Hongchu. Qian Hongchu was taken aback and said, "It depends on your strength to save my brother's life."

Qian Hongchu was both afraid and suspicious of Hu Jinsi, but he always compromised and tolerated in every possible way.Hu Jinsi was also suffering from sorrow and fear in his heart. Soon, he developed a sore on his back and died.As a result, Qian Hongyi was able to save his life. 9. Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty issued an edict to Wang Jingchong and the Fengxiang inspection commander (inspection envoy). Wang Jingchong led his army to Fengxiang (Fengxiang County, Shaanxi Province). Before Hou Yi set off, Wang Jingchong sent his forbidden troops to guard the gates of the city.Someone advised Wang Jingchong to kill Hou Yi, but Wang Jingchong considered that what he had accepted was a secret decree issued by the old emperor Liu Zhiyuan when he was still alive, and the new emperor Liu Chengyou didn't know about it, so he might suspect him of committing the murder without authorization; therefore, he hesitated for a long time and dared not make a decision. It didn't take long for Hou Yi to get the news, and he left without reporting to Wang Jingchong.Wang Jingchong regretted it greatly and scolded himself. On February 18th, when Hou Yi arrived in the capital, Liu Chengyou asked, "Why did you attract the Houshu army?" Hou Yi said, "I intend to lure them in and kill them!" Liu Chengyou snorted. 10. Later Shu Zhang Qianzhao hated himself for not contributing to his newly capitulated empire. On February 23, Zhang Qianzhao returned to Xingzhou (Yang County, Shaanxi Province), and died of frustration and anger. (Hu Sansheng's note: "Zhang Qianzhao is a person who doesn't know right and wrong, doesn't know sharpness, and only knows how to make meritorious deeds. He observed Dingzhou, which was defended by the king, and Fengxiang, which was defended by Li Congke. They all failed because of their eagerness to win. , you can understand.") 11. Shi Hongzhao, the chief commander of the infantry and cavalry of the Royal Guards of the Later Han Dynasty (the commander of the guards and horses), and the second-level real prime minister, Shi Hongzhao, his mother passed away, but he only wore mourning clothes for a few days, and then he walked out of the house to see him in the Golden Palace. On March 7, Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty issued an edict to appoint Shi Hongzhao, ordered him to resume his office and awarded him the title of concurrently supreme supervisor (and servant). Hou Yi's family property was rich, and he wantonly bribed senior officials in power and Prime Minister Shi Hongzhao, etc., so senior officials in the central government scrambled to praise Hou Yi's virtues. On March 17th, Liu Chengyou ordered Hou Yi, who was also the Supreme Legislator (and Zhongshu Ling), to act as the special mayor of the capital Kaifeng (Xing Kaifeng Yin). The government of the Later Han Dynasty renamed Guangjin Mansion (Daming County, Hebei Province) to Daming Mansion (still retaining the title of Yedu. The name of Daming Mansion began with Tian Yue, the rebel general of the Tang Dynasty, refer to November 782), Jinchang Theater ( Headquartered in Jingzhaofu) was renamed Yongxing Theater. Hou Yi tried his best to destroy and slander Wang Jingchong in the central government, accusing him of going his own way and being overbearing.Wang Jingchong heard the news that Hou Yi had been appointed as the acting special mayor of Kaifeng, the capital, and knew that things had changed. He was in a bad mood, and turned from disappointment to resentment towards the central government.Coincidentally, Liu Chengyou sent his court entourage (official officer) Wang Yi to Fengxiang to recruit Zhao Kuangzan's garrison troops (ya soldiers) to the central government. On the way, Zhao Siwan said to his colleague Chang Yanqing: "The little Taiwei (Zhao Kuangzan) has fallen into their hands. We have reached the capital, but we will die together. What should we do?" Say." On March 24th, Zhao Siwan and others went to Chang'an, An Yougui, the deputy commander of the Yongxing theater (Jiedu deputy envoy), and Qiao Shouwen, the inspection commander (inspection), went out of the city to meet the imperial envoy Wang Yi, and set up a banquet in a suburban hotel.Zhao Siwan stepped forward and reported: "Commander Haozhai (Haozhai Envoy) has already settled accommodation in the east of the city, but the families of the officers and soldiers live in the city (when Zhao Kuangzan was guarding Chang'an, the families of the officers and soldiers settled down), we plan to enter the city Go home and pick up your family members to live with them in the east of the city." An Yougui and others thought it was reasonable. At that time, Zhao Siwan and others had neither armor nor weapons. After they rushed into the west gate, they found an officer from the state sitting by the door. Zhao Siwan suddenly attacked, grabbed his sword, and cut off his head; With a stick, he killed more than ten gate guards, and then guarded each gate separately.Zhao Siwan entered the headquarters, opened the armory, took out the armor and weapons, and distributed them to everyone. An Yougui and others all fled, so Zhao Siwan occupied Chang'an, gathered more than 4,000 young people in the city, repaired the city wall, rebuilt enemy towers and battlements, and completed the battle system in ten days. Wang Jingchong hinted that Fengxiang officials and people would go to the central government and recommend him to be in charge of the military administration of the theater headquarters (knowing the affairs of the military government). The central government was worried. On March 25, Wang Shouen, the commander of Jingnan (headquarters in Binzhou), was appointed as the commander of Yongxing; Zhao Hui, the commander of Baoyi (headquarters in Shanzhou), was appointed as the commander of Fengxiang; (Same as Ping Zhang Shi · Envoy). He also ordered Wang Jingchong to be the alternate commander of Jingnan (headquarters in Binzhou) (to stay behind), and went directly to the mission. Guozhou (Lingbao City, Henan Province) actor Jing Bianting (Jing, surname), killed the militia commander (regiment training envoy) Tian Lingfang, and threatened the people of this state to defect to Chang'an Zhao Siwan. When they arrived at Tongguan (Tongguan County, Shaanxi Province), the guards of Tongguan sent troops to attack, and the Jingbian court was defeated. 12. At the beginning, when the emperor of the Liao Empire (the capital Linhuang Mansion) (the third Sejong) Yeluwuyu (31 years old this year) returned to the north, he went to Dingzhou (Dingzhou City, Hebei Province) and was promoted to Yiwu (Headquarters Dingzhou) Deputy Commander (Deputy Envoy of Jiedu) Yeluzhong (Yelülang Wu) was the commander, and Tuoyuan Commander Sun Fangjian was the commander of Datong (headquarters in Yunzhou) (Sun Fangjian was the leader of the Bianmin, refer to 946 April).Sun Fangjian was furious, and he was afraid that once he went to the capital (the capital Linhuang Mansion) for an audience, he might be detained, so he kept procrastinating and refusing to handle the handover, and finally led his 3,000 people back to Langshan (Southwest Wolf Mountain, Yixian County, Hebei Province). Asan) The former base area, the control is dangerous. The Liao army attacked and could not conquer.Soon, Sun Fangjian sent envoys to surrender to the Later Han government, and Later Han Emperor Liu Chengyou resumed his original official position (commander of Yiwu) to resist the Liao Kingdom. Yeluzhong (Yelülang Wu) has been fearing the rebellion of the Han people ever since he got the news that Yedu (Daming County, Hebei Province) was taken away by the Later Han (Du Chongwei surrendered to the Later Han, refer to November 1947).Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty ordered Liu Zaiming, the alternate commander of Chengde (headquarters in Zhenzhou), to be the field commander of the infantry and cavalry in Youzhou (Beijing) area (deployed by the horse step capital of Youzhou Road), and led the army to capture Dingzhou; He and Yelu Malu (formerly the left-behind chief of Zhongjing in the Liao Kingdom) set fire to Dingzhou, looted wantonly, abandoned the city, and threatened all the men and women in the city to go north.Sun Fangjian got the news and led hundreds of troops back to Dingzhou from Langshan.Shangshu Liu Chengyou appointed his younger brother Sun Xingyou as governor of Yizhou (Yixian County, Hebei Province) and Sun Fangyu as governor of Taizhou (Mancheng County, Hebei Province).Every time the Liao Kingdom invaded south, the Sun brothers sent troops to attack, and the Liao army was quite afraid of them. Some prefectures and counties that fell to the Liao State at the end of the Later Jin Dynasty were gradually taken back by the Later Han Dynasty. On March 27, Liu Chengyou promoted Liu Zaiming to be the commander of the theater. 13. When Yelu Mapo of Liao Kingdom (capital Linhuang Mansion) returned home, Liao Emperor Yeluwu wanted to blame him for losing troops and generals, and humiliating the country.Yelu Mamo refused to accept it, and argued: "This is because the central government appointed Han people as officials to mess up the world. Wuyu was furious and poisoned him to death with poisoned wine. 14. Su Fengji, prime minister of the later Han Dynasty, etc., often promoted government officials, and filled in when there were vacancies.Yang Bin, the commander of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters (private envoy), believed that civilian officials were useless but a waste of state funds, so he often shelved or even refuted the memorials of Su Fengji and others, and Su Fengji and others were very unhappy. Li Tao, Deputy Legislator (Zhongshu Shilang), Minister of Finance of the State Council (and Minister of the Ministry of Household Affairs), and second-level de facto prime minister, Shangshu suggested: "Nowadays, Kansai (west of Tongguan) is raging, and the most urgent thing is to resist foreign invasion. The two commanders of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters (private envoys Yang Bin and Guo Wei) were both heroes who helped the late emperor (the first Liu Zhiyuan) to establish a foundation. Although their official positions are noble, their families are not rich. The commander of the war zone. The military secrets of the empire are all in the eyes of His Majesty, and it is easy to judge. Su Fengji and Su Yugui held important positions during the reign of the first emperor, and they can be trusted." Yang Bin and Guo Wei heard the news, and they cried and expressed their feelings when they met the Queen Mother Li. Said: "We followed the late emperor and fought hard in hardships. Now, the emperor listened to other people's slander and planned to abandon us to other places. Besides, there is a war in Kansai. How can we bear to only enjoy our own enjoyment, regardless of the safety of the empire? If you think that we are really not qualified for the current official position, please allow us to stay after the late emperor's burial." The Empress Dowager Li was furious, and reprimanded Liu Chengyou, saying: "How can the former cadres who have made great contributions to the empire listen to others and be expelled from the central government?" Liu Chengyou Said: "This is the idea of the prime ministers." Then questioned the prime minister, Li Tao said: "This memorial is my own idea, and no one else has participated in the opinion." On March 28, Liu Chengyou dismissed Li Tao from his position as prime minister and ordered him to return to his private residence. 15. On the same day (March 28), Jingnan (headquarters in Binzhou, Wang Shouen), Zhangyi (headquarters in Jingzhou, Shi Kuangwei), Kuanguo (headquarters in Tongzhou, Zhang Yanwei), Zhenguo (headquarters in Huazhou · Hu Congke) The report of the Fourth War Zone stated: "Li Shouzhen, the commander of the Huguo (headquarters in Hezhong Prefecture) and the Supreme Legislative Chief (also the Zhongshuling and Envoy), and the two theaters of Yongxing and Fengxiang rebelled at the same time." At first, when Li Shouzhen heard that Du Chongwei was killed, he was terrified and secretly prepared to resist. Moreover, he thought that he had served as a high-ranking general in the later Jin Dynasty and had military exploits (referring to the suppression of Yang Guangyuan, refer to December 1944), he always loved giving alms, and was loved by officers and soldiers. The post-Han government had not been established for a long time, and Liu Chengyou was still young, and he had just ascended the throne. The senior officials who held the power of the central government were all late-born and underachievers, so Li Shouzhen somewhat despised the central government. So he recruited and accepted rebels, raised brave warriors, built cities, and sorted out stolen armor and weapons, day and night. They also sent people to carry the secret letters hidden in the wax pills to the Liao Kingdom by small roads to contact them, but they were seized by border officials many times. Zhao Xiuji, a native of Junyi (the county where the capital Kaifeng Prefecture is located and Kaifeng City, Henan Province), is proficient in divination. When Li Shouzhen was the commander of Yicheng (headquarters in Huazhou), he was appointed as a household registration officer (sihu joined the army), and he has been following Li Shouzhen since then (Li Shouzhen guarded Huazhou in 1944, and was later transferred to Taining, Tianping, Guide, In the end, Huguo), warned Li Shouzhen: "People's hearts and destiny are not yet mature, so you must not act rashly!" Li Shouzhen refused to listen to more than one painful dissuasion, so Zhao Xiuji claimed to be sick, resigned and returned to his hometown.Zong Lun, a Buddhist monk, used magic to win Li Shouzhen's favor and favor, claiming that Li Shouzhen would definitely become emperor, and Li Shouzhen believed it.At a general banquet, Li Shouzhen once drew his bow to the fullest, aimed at the Picture of Tiger Licking the Palm hanging on the wall, and said: "If I have an extraordinary fortune, I should shoot the tiger's tongue." Tiger tongue, left and right unanimously congratulated, Li Shouzhen became more and more pretentious. At this time, Zhao Siwan, the leader of the rebel army occupying Chang'an, presented the emperor's royal clothes to Li Shouzhen.Li Shouzhen believed that people's hearts and destiny had been united, so he called himself the King of Qin, and sent a brave general, Wang Jixun (not the royal Wang Jixun of Fujian Province), from Pinglu County, Shanxi Province, to lead the army to Tongguan, and ordered Zhao Siwan to be the commander of Jinchang (later Han Dynasty changed to Jin Dynasty) Chang Zuo Yongxing, Li Shouzhen did not recognize). The distance between Tongzhou (Dali County, Shaanxi Province) and Hezhong (Yongji City, Shanxi Province) is the shortest (25 kilometers). He was on guard first, and then Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Han Dynasty transferred Yi to become the commander-in-chief of the cavalry (commander of the Huazhou horse army) Luo Jinshan, and led his troops to the Tongzhou to assist in the defense. So when Li Shouzhen raised his troops, Tongzhou was not annexed by him.Luo Jinshan is from Yunzhou (Datong City, Shanxi Province). Li Yiyin, the commander of the Dingnan War Zone (headquartered in Xiazhou), sent troops to station at the border. Shangshu said: "Three years ago, Wu (sound ye wu), the chief of the Qiang tribe, killed the governor of Suizhou (Suide County, Shaanxi Province) Li Renyu ( Suizhou belongs to the Dingnan war zone) and rebelled and fled. Please allow me to go out to fight." The government of Qingzhou (Qingyang County, Gansu Province) Shangshu said: "Please reinforce the central government to prevent the Qiang people from attacking." Liu Chengyou issued an edict and said: "The Observatory (Sitian) reported that within this year, whoever starts the war first will be disadvantaged." They were advised to stop their actions. In summer, on April 2, Wang Yu, the chief counselor (capital supervisor) of the Baoyi theater (headquartered in Shanzhou), reported that Tongguan was conquered. 16. Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty discussed with his attendants, because his mother, the Empress Dowager Li, thought that Li Tao was sowing dissension and was very angry. She planned to promote the two commanders (private envoys) of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters who had been excluded, to show that it was Li Tao's claim , not royal. The left and right attendants also hated the domineering of the two prime ministers surnamed Su (Su Fengji and Su Yugui), and planned to deprive them of their power, so they unanimously agreed with Liu Chengyou's proposition. On April 3, Liu Chengyou issued a personnel appointment letter, ordering Yang Bing, the commander of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters (private envoy), to be the deputy legislator (Zhongshu Shilang), the Minister of Civil Affairs of the State Council (also Minister of the Ministry of Officials), and the second-level real prime minister. Maintain the original position of the commander of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters; promote the Deputy Commander of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters (Deputy Privy Envoy) Guo Wei to be the commander. In addition, Wang Zhang, the management director of the three central financial units (three envoys), and the second-level real prime minister were awarded. Liu Chengyou appointed Yang Bin to consider all the certificates of appointment issued by the Prime Minister's Joint Office (Zhongshu) and the memorials of various departments. So the other three prime ministers (Dou Zhengu, Su Fengji, and Su Yugui) had nothing to do, and the political affairs were completely decided by Yang Bin.Yang Bin didn't nod his head, so no one dared to carry it out, so the administrative work either came to a standstill or stagnated.Every time the three prime ministers recommend talents for use, if it is not for Yang Bin's intention, even a county-level secretary (book) or police officer (wei) will not approve it.Yang Bin never liked intellectuals, and often said: "The most important thing is a full national warehouse and a strong army. As for literature and music, there is nothing worth paying attention to!" Sparse), and then also because of the past. The appointment of officials is too superfluous, and people have accused them of trying to correct the long-standing abuses. Therefore, they made every possible effort to appoint officials, so that some intellectuals from the rise of the Later Han Dynasty until they were expelled from the Central Plains (January 1951) could not get any. Part-time job.For those who obtained official qualifications because of their father and brother, or were gradually promoted from a low class to a high class, these two channels are completely unreasonable. This was certainly due to Yang Bin's ignorance, but people at the time traced back to the source and blamed the two prime ministers surnamed Su for being too selfish in the past and dealing with them unfairly, which caused the backlash. 17. Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty ordered Guo Congyi, the commander of Zhenning (headquarters in Chanzhou), to be the commander-in-chief of the Yongxing Area Task Force (deployed by the Yongxing Camp), and led the royal guards to attack Zhao Siwan. On April 9th, Bai Wenke, the commander of Baoyi (headquarters in Shanzhou), was appointed as the field commander of the Hezhong Area Task Force (deployed by the Hezhong Camp), and Wang Jun, the Royal Protocol Director (Ministry Envoy) was appointed as the Chief Counselor (all supervisors). On April 12th, Li Shouzhen was removed from all his ranks, and Bai Wenke and others were ordered to join forces to attack. On April 16, Shang Hongqian, Commander of the Ningjiang Theater (headquartered in Kuizhou) (empty title. At this time, Kuizhou belonged to Houshu), Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Guards and Infantry (Commander of the Guards and the Army) was appointed When the chief picket of the Western Legion (West camp capital Yuhou). Wang Jingchong refused to go to Binzhou (Binxian County, Shaanxi Province) to go on business. The commander of the Imperial General Staff Headquarters, the commander of Baoning (headquarters in Langzhou), and the supreme supervisor (and servant) Wang Chuhui also ran rampant, corrupt and indulged, betrayed government officials, created unjust prisons, and paid tribute to the government from all over the country. It was sent to Wang Chuhui, and then presented to the palace treasury, so the family property is in the millions. His son, Wang Dejun, is also arrogant and domineering. After Zhang Ye's death, Meng Chang couldn't bear to kill Wang Chuhui again, so he ordered him to go home to recuperate. Meng Chang planned to appoint Gao Yanzhao, the director of the daily necessities supply of the palace (Pufeng Kushi) and Wang Zhaoyuan, the palace tea and wine manager (tea and wine warehouse envoy), as the commanders of the Imperial Staff Headquarters, but their prestige and status were not enough, so they were appointed first. The administrator of the memorial (General Envoy), in charge of the Imperial Staff Headquarters (knowing the Privy Council).Wang Zhaoyuan, a native of Chengdu (Chengdu City, Sichuan Province), became a monk when he was young, and followed his master to the Meng family. On July 27, Meng Chang approved.
29. Zhao Hui, commander of Fengxiang in the Later Han Dynasty, arrived in Chang'an (Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, the county where Jingzhao Mansion is located). On July 28, Zhao Hui went to the Shu and said: "The signs of Wang Jingchong's rebellion are more obvious. Please allow the army to attack." At first, the first emperor Liu Zhiyuan guarded Hedong (headquarters in Taiyuan Mansion), and his younger brother Liu Chong was the commander-in-chief of the infantry and cavalry (commander of the horse-budu capital). .Later, when Guo Wei came to power, Liu Chong (currently the commander of Hedong) was very worried. Zheng Gong, the military executive (Jiedu judge), suggested that Liu Chong should use force to protect himself, and Liu Chong accepted.Zheng Gong is from Qingzhou (Qingzhou City, Shandong Province). On August 4th, Liu Chong asked for permission to add four commanders (commander envoys). From spring to autumn, they blindly waited and watched, and refused to launch an attack.Emperor Liu Chengyou of the Later Han Dynasty was very worried and planned to send high-level and heavyweight officials to the front to supervise the battle. On August 6th, Liu Chengyou ordered Guo Wei to be the special envoy of the Western Army to comfort and appease (the envoy of comfort and appeasement of the Western Army). Before Guo Wei set out, he asked Feng Dao, one of the three divisions, for advice. Can destroy his support." On August 8, Emperor Meng Chang of Later Shu appointed Zhao Tingyin as Taifu (the second of the three masters) to be the king of Song Dynasty. When a major event happened in the country, he sent someone to Zhao Ting's private house for advice. On August 12, Hou Shu renamed the Fengxiang theater as the Qiyang theater. On August 13th, Wang Jingchong was appointed as the commander of the Qiyang theater (headquartered in Fengxiang Mansion), and also as the second-level prime minister (Tongping Zhangshi·envoy).
