Chapter 32 Appendix Chronology of events in this volume

In 25 A.D. (the first year of Jianwu), Liu Xiu proclaimed himself emperor, and the Eastern Han Dynasty began. In 57 AD (the second year of Zhongyuan), Emperor Guangwu died at the age of sixty-two.His son Liu Zhuang succeeded to the throne at the age of 30 and was Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty. In 75 AD (the eighteenth year of Yongping), Emperor Han Ming died at the age of forty-eight.His son Liu Da succeeded to the throne at the age of nineteen and was Emperor Zhang of the Han Dynasty. In 88 AD (the second year of Zhanghe), Emperor Zhang of the Han Dynasty died at the age of thirty-two.His son Liu Zhao succeeded to the throne as Emperor Hanhe. He was ten years old.

In 92 A.D. (the fourth year of Yongyuan), the 14-year-old Hanhe Emperor and the eunuch Zheng Zhong destroyed Dou Xian, and Dou Xian committed suicide. In 106 A.D. (the first year of Yanping), Emperor Shang of the Han Dynasty died at the age of two.His nephew Liu Hu succeeded to the throne as Emperor Han'an at the age of thirteen. In 121 A.D. (the second year of Yongning), the 18-year-old Emperor Han'an and eunuchs Li Run and Jiang Jing destroyed Deng Zhi, and Deng Zhi committed suicide. In 125 A.D. (the fourth year of Yanguang), nineteen people including eunuch Sun Cheng raised troops to support Emperor Han Shun, and Yan Xian was killed.

In 159 AD (the second year of Yanxi), the 28-year-old Emperor Huan of the Han Dynasty and the eunuch Tang Heng destroyed Liang Ji, and Liang Ji committed suicide. In 167 A.D. (the tenth year of Yanxi), Emperor Huan of the Han Dynasty died at the age of thirty-six.Empress Dowager Dou ordered Dou Wuying to set up the clan Liu Hong to succeed her as Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty at the age of twelve. In 168 A.D. (the first year of Emperor Jianning of the Han Dynasty), the eunuch Cao Jie and others destroyed Dou Wu. Dou Wu committed suicide after being defeated and was beheaded for public display.

In April of 189 AD (the sixth year of Zhongping), Emperor Ling died, and the prince Liu Bian succeeded to the throne as Emperor Shao.He Jin, a foreign relative, was in power and tried to kill the eunuch, but was killed by the eunuch.Yuan Shao entered the palace and killed the eunuch.In September, Dong Zhuo entered Beijing, abolished the young emperor Liu Bian, and re-established Liu Xie to serve as Emperor Han.In December, Cao Cao raised troops to challenge Dong. In 190 A.D. (the first year of Chuping), all the prefectures and counties of Guandong launched an army to attack Dong Zhuo.Dong Zhuo killed Liu Bian, king of Hongnong, and moved Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty to Chang'an.

In 191 A.D. (the second year of Chuping), Yuan Shao served as the shepherd of Jizhou himself, and represented Cao Cao as the prefect of Dongjun. Xun Yu left Yuan Shao and went to Cao Cao. In 192 AD (the third year of Chuping), Lu Bu killed Dong Zhuo and defected to Yuan Shao.Cao Cao acted as the agent of Yanzhou Mu, and received 300,000 Yellow Turban Army, known as Qingzhou Soldiers. In 194 AD (the first year of Xingping), Lu Bu was the shepherd of Yanzhou, and Liu Bei was the shepherd of Xuzhou. In the summer of 195 AD (the second year of Xingping), Cao Cao defeated Lu Bu.In July, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty returned from Chang'an.In October, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty appointed Cao Cao as Yanzhou Shepherd.

In June of 196 A.D. (the first year of Jian'an), Cao Cao appointed Liu Bei as the shepherd of Yuzhou.In July, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty arrived in Luoyang.In August, Cao Cao took the command of the captain of Sili and recorded the affairs of the minister.In September, Cao Cao greeted the Han Dynasty and offered the emperor Xu. In 197 AD (the second year of Jian'an), Yuan Shu proclaimed himself emperor.Yuan Shao led Yuzhou Mu, Qingzhou Mu, Youzhou Mu, and Bingzhou Mu with great generals. In December of 198 AD (the third year of Jian'an), Cao Cao captured and killed Lu Bu.

In June of 199 AD (the fourth year of Jian'an), Yuan Shu died.In the eighth month, Cao Cao's army entered Liyang.In September, the troops were divided into Guandu.In November, Zhang Xiu surrendered to Cao Cao.In December, Cao Cao used Guandu as his base camp. In the first month of 200 AD (the fifth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao conquered Liu Bei.In February, Yuan Shaojun went to Liyang.In July, Yuan Shao's army entered Yangwu.In August, Yuan Shao's army arrived at Guandu.In October, the Battle of Guandu ended and Yuan Shao was defeated.In the same year, Sun Ce was assassinated and died, and Sun Quan succeeded him at the age of nineteen.

In 201 AD (the sixth year of Jian'an), Liu Bei defected to Liu Biao. In 202 AD (the seventh year of Jian'an), Yuan Shao died of illness. In 204 A.D. (the ninth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao led Jizhou to herdsmen and returned it to Yanzhou. In 207 AD (the twelfth year of Jian'an), Zhuge Liang came out of the mountain. In June of 208 AD (the thirteenth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao became prime minister himself.In July, levy Liu Biao.In August, Kong Rong was killed.In December, the Battle of Chibi. In December of 209 AD (the fourteenth year of Jian'an), Zhou Yu broke through Jiangling.Sun Quan was the shepherd of Xuzhou, and Liu Bei was the shepherd of Jingzhou. Sun Quan married her as his younger sister.

In December of 210 A.D. (the fifteenth year of Jian'an), Zhou Yu plotted to destroy Liu Bei until Baqiu died of illness. Before he died, he recommended Lu Su to succeed him.Lu Su stationed troops in Lukou and suggested that Sun Quan "lend" Jingzhou to Liu Bei. In the spring of 211 AD (the sixteenth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao conquered Ma Chao and Han Sui.In December, Liu Bei's army entered Shu. In the first month of 212 A.D. (the seventeenth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao was ordered to worship without a name, to enter the court without tending to, and to walk on the sword in the palace, just like the story of Xiao He.In May, Ma Teng was killed and the three clans were wiped out.In October, Sun Quan was conquered in the east, and Xun Yu died.

In the first month of 213 AD (the eighteenth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao withdrew from Ruxu.In May, Cao Cao was granted the Duke of Wei with the ten counties of Jizhou, and nine tins were added.In July, Wei Jian Sheji. In the summer of 214 A.D. (the 19th year of Jian'an), Liu Bei entered Chengdu and took the post of Yizhou shepherd. In March of 215 AD (the 20th year of Jian'an), Cao Cao marched west to Zhang Lu.In November, Zhang Lu surrendered.That year, Sun Quan asked Liu Bei to return Jingzhou. In May of 216 AD (the 21st year of Jian'an), Cao Cao was the king of Wei. In April of 217 A.D. (the 22nd year of Jian'an), Cao Caoyi was the same emperor, and Cao Pi was the prince of Wei.

In July of 219 AD (the twenty-fourth year of Jian'an), Liu Bei proclaimed himself King of Hanzhong.In December, Sun Quan killed Guan Yu and submitted a letter to Cao Cao. In the first month of 220 AD (the twenty-fifth year of Jian'an), Cao Cao died.After Cao Pi succeeded to the throne, he implemented the Nine Rank Official Personnel Law.In October, Cao Pi replaced Han as Emperor Wen of Wei. In April of 221 AD (the second year of Emperor Wei Wen of Huang Chu), Liu Bei proclaimed himself emperor.In August, Cao Pi made Sun Quan King of Wu. In 222 A.D. (the third year of Huangchu), the battle of Yiling. In April of 223 A.D. (the fourth year of Huangchu), Liu Bei died and Liu Chan succeeded to the throne. In 226 A.D. (the seventh year of Huangchu), Cao Pi died, and his son Cao Rui succeeded him as Emperor Wei Ming. In 227 A.D. (the first year of Taihe, Emperor Ming of Wei Dynasty, and the fifth year of Jianxing of Shuhan Dynasty), Zhuge Liang made his first Northern Expedition, and before leaving, he published the "List of Teachers". In the spring of 228 AD (the second year of Taihe of Cao Wei and the sixth year of Jianxing of Shu Han), the Shu army was defeated in Jieting, and Zhuge Liang killed Ma Di.In December, Zhuge Liang made his second Northern Expedition. In the spring of 229 AD (the third year of Taihe of Cao Wei, the seventh year of Jianxing of Shu Han, and the first year of Sun Wu Huanglong), Zhuge Liang made his third Northern Expedition.In April, Sun Quan proclaimed himself emperor. In February of 231 AD (the fifth year of Taihe of Cao Wei and the ninth year of Jianxing of Shu Han), Zhuge Liang made his fourth Northern Expedition.In August, Li Yan was deposed as a commoner. In February of 234 A.D. (the second year of Qinglong, Emperor Ming of Wei, and the twelfth year of Jianxing of Shu Han), Zhuge Liang made his fifth Northern Expedition.In August, he died of illness in the army. In 249 AD (the first ten years of Cao Fangzheng), Sima Yi launched a coup, killed the general Cao Shuang, and the Cao Wei regime returned to Sima. In 252 A.D. (the fourth year of Wei Jiaping), Sun Quan died. In August of 263 A.D. (the fourth year of Emperor Jingyuan of Wei Yuan), the Wei army sent troops to Luoyang to attack Shu.In October, Liu Chan surrendered to Wei, and the Shu Han perished. In December of 265 A.D. (the first year of Taishi in the Western Jin Dynasty), Sima Yan, king of Jin, forced Emperor Wei and Yuan to abdicate, Cao Wei died, and the Western Jin Dynasty began. In 280 A.D. (the sixth year of Xianning), Wu died, Jin unified the world, and the Three Kingdoms ended.
