I returned to Quanzhou Cao'an to recuperate, and made a will to Master Chuanguan for execution. This is the second serious illness of Master Hongyi in his life. In January 1936, his condition improved. In February, he moved from Quanzhou Cao'an to Xiamen South Putuo. The famous doctor Dr. Huang Bingding used continuous medicine, electrotherapy, injection and other methods to treat him, and he recovered in early May.Dr. Huang refused to accept the "five or six hundred gold" for medical expenses because of his admiration for Master Hongyi. Master Hongyi then gave a volume of writing and several pieces of writing as a thank you.

In March, Minnan Buddhist Yangzheng Hospital in South Putuo started school. He gave a lecture titled "Four Things Young Buddhists Should Pay Attention to" even though he was sick. In the spring of that year, at the appointment of Hangzhou "Yuefeng" magazine, I dictated an article, which was recorded and organized by Gao Wenxian. On March 28th, gave a speech titled "Dream Shadows of Ten Years in Southern Fujian" in South Putuo, summarizing my ten years of experience in promoting Dharma in Fujian.That month, he gave a lecture titled "Master Hongyi's Last Words—On the Method of Writing" in South Putuo. In April, the Preparatory Office of the "First Xiamen Sports Meeting" asked Master Hongyi to compose the "Conference Song" for the sports meeting. At first, the master declined, and then the Preparatory Office sent a completed song for the master to revise. This time, the master graciously agreed , Both the words and the music have been carefully revised.The song was sung at the conference in May and was widely welcomed.

In May, Master Tan Xu, the abbot of Zhanshan Temple in Qingdao, sent Master Mengcan to Xiamen Wanshouyan to respectfully invite Master Hongyi to go north to Qingdao to promote the Dharma. The master was touched by his sincerity, and together with three masters, Guan, Renkai and Yuanzhuo, traveled on the fifth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar. The ship sailed north and arrived in Qingdao on the 20th, where it was warmly welcomed by the Buddhist community in Qingdao.After the master arrived at Zhanshan Temple, he began to preach the law and promote the Dharma. More than 100 masters of Zhanshan Temple listened to the lectures of Master Hongyi and Master Renkai and benefited a lot.Since then, Zhanshan Temple has been giving lectures on the two famous works of Vinaya, "Random Karma" and "Remarks on Precepts of Bhikkhu with Quarterly Vinaya", and spread the Vinaya system to Changchun, Harbin and other places.

In May, on the twenty-ninth day, he wrote the article "A Brief Example of Precepts", and in the second half of the year, an article "A Brief Example of a Settlement Law", both of which were included in the book "Puhui Zang" published by the Shanghai Tripitaka Association in 1957.
