From July to September, from Wenzhou to Shanghai, at Feng Zikai's home, together with Feng Zikai and Li Yuanjing, edited "Husheng Huaji". Li Yuanjing selected materials, Feng Zikai painted, and Master Hongyi wrote an inscription. Some of the inscriptions were created by myself, and some were selected from ancient poems. The whole book integrates poetry, calligraphy and painting, takes "humanitarianism as the main interest, uses paintings to explain", advocates protecting life and opposes killing.Master Hongyi wrote an inscription at the beginning of the volume: "Pursuing all living beings, inheriting merits and virtues; making Bodhi together, reborn in Paradise", which shows the purpose of creating this book. "Husheng Painting Collection" was published by Shanghai Buddhist Book Company in 1929, and has a wide influence at home and abroad.

On November 9th, Feng Zikai's 30th birthday, Master Hongyi gave Feng Zikai refuge in Jiangwan Residence, asked him to practice the "Five Precepts", and gave him the name "Baby Practice". At the end of the year, lay Buddhists You Xiyin and Xie Renzhai planned to go to Thailand to promote the Dharma, and Master Hongyi went with them after hearing the news. When the ship arrived in Xiamen, Master Hongyi abandoned the ship and landed due to physical discomfort. He was warmly welcomed by Chen Jingxian, the founder of Xiamen University. The Buddhist community in southern Fujian also warmly welcomed Master Hongyi to promote Buddhism in Fujian. The master then broke up with You and Xie two laymen, and hung up at Nanputuo Temple, a famous temple in Fujian.

In September, together with Venerable Master Weijing, they went to Shangyu Baima Lake. Xia Zun, Jing Ziyuan, Feng Zikai, and Liu Zhiping raised funds to build a residence for Master Hongyi in his later years. The master inscribed it "Wanqing Mountain House". In October, I spent my 50th birthday with friends from the Dharma Protectorate at Wanqing Shanfang. On the occasion of the master's fiftieth birthday, Shanghai Kaiming Bookstore compiled and published "Li Xiweng's Ancient Dharma Book" which he had encountered during his secular life, and Xia Zun was in charge of the compilation. "Nursing Student Painting Collection" was also published on this occasion.

At the end of October, he went to Shanghai and took a boat to Xiamen, where he assisted Master Chang Xing, the director of Minnan Buddhist College, to rectify the college at Nanputuo Temple. At the end of the year, return to Wenzhou Qingfu Temple. That year, in the third issue of "Fa Hai Cong Tan", the eleventh volume of "Hai Chao Yin", he published a long article "Fawei", which recorded the master's "trivial things when he was in Xiamen the year before last". In the first month of 1931, suffering from falciparum malaria, he was recuperated at Qingfu Temple in Wenzhou at first, then escorted by Liu Zhiping to the house of Wanqing Shanfang, and then invited to Fajie Temple in Shangyu. While he was ill, Monk Anxin Toutuo came to the temple to ask the master to go to Xi'an to promote the Dharma. The master refused and decided to take the sick and give up his life to go. Before leaving, he left a will for Liu Zhiping.Fortunately, Liu Zhiping arrived in time and snatched the master back from the ship that was about to anchor.

In April, inspired by Xu Weiru, a famous Buddhist layman, he made a vow to donate "Youbu" and study "Nanshan Four-Part Law".On April 2, he wrote the "Vow to Learn the Law of Nanshan" and read it in front of the Buddha statue in Fajie Temple in Shangyu. These series of actions are contrary to the oath the master once made : Firstly, he will not be an abbot, secondly, he will not beg for karma, and thirdly, he will not accept apprentices; moreover, he will go against the master’s original intention of founding a law school of "promoting law studies and serious monk discipline", so he left angrily and founded "Nanshan Law School" That is to say nothing.

In September, Master Guangqia sent a letter to invite the master to return to Xiamen for the winter, and the master returned to Shanghai via Shaoxing and Hangzhou at the end of the month. When I was in Shaoxing, I happened to meet Layman Cai Yin, who made a portrait of the master and asked the master to write his own chronicle, but the master declined. As far as Shanghai, it was on the eve of the "January 28th Incident" and the current situation was turbulent.
