Biography of Chen Boda 叶永烈 1673Words 2018-03-16
They played a very clever political "grafting" technique: with the revelation of "Wang, Guan, and Lin", people's anger against the "Central Cultural Revolution" erupted. However, they described "Wang, Guan, and Lin" as the "black backstage" of "May 16", and described "Wang, Guan, and Lin" as representatives of ultra-left ideological trends. "Wang, Guan, Lin" went to him! ※ ※ ※ On September 1, 1967, the second day of Wang Li, Guan Feng, and Lin Jie's quarantine inspection, Chen Boda, Kang Sheng, Jiang Qing, Zhang Chunqiao, etc. appeared at the enlarged meeting of the Beijing Revolutionary Committee.

Wang Li and Guan Feng were "conspicuously" absent. In his speech, Jiang Qing revealed new "information", that is, "criticizing the extreme 'left' trend of thought". Jiang Qing said: "There are still some bad guys messing around behind the scenes. Those who appeared in an extremely 'Left' appearance are 'May 16th'. They appeared in an extremely 'Left' appearance. Comrades, please be vigilant." Chen Boda commented on Jiang Qing's words: "Comrade Jiang Qing said an important issue is: use the extreme right or the extreme left to shake the Party Central Committee headed by Chairman Mao, target the army, and target the revolutionary committee in an attempt to make us mess up. .'May 16th' is a counter-revolutionary organization."

Kang Sheng kept "in step" with Jiang Qing and Chen Boda, saying: "Be vigilant, the emergence of 'May 16' is not accidental, it will shake Chairman Mao's headquarters from the right and the extreme 'left'. Down everywhere Premier Zhou, this is destroying Chairman Mao’s headquarters from within. Some people have been fooled unconsciously and helped this conspiratorial and reactionary counter-revolutionary organization. We must resolutely suppress this small group of leaders.” The remarks of these "heads" of the "Central Cultural Revolution" obviously proposed a new "strategic deployment."The so-called "May 16th" refers to the "Capital Red Guard May 16th Group" founded on June 14, 1967, led by Liu Lingkai from Beijing Institute of Foreign Studies and Zhang Jianqi from Beijing Iron and Steel Institute.

Jiang Qing, Chen Boda, and Kang Sheng were originally ultra-leftists, and they followed the ultra-left line. How could they suddenly "criticize the ultra-left trend of thought" at this time? It turned out that they played with a very ingenious political "grafting" technique: as "Wang, Guan, and Lin" were exposed, people's anger against the "Central Cultural Revolution" erupted. However, they described "Wang, Guan, and Lin" as the "black backstage" of "May 16", and described "Wang, Guan, and Lin" as representatives of ultra-left ideological trends. "Wang, Guan, Lin" went to him!Lost the car, saved Shuai!

On the morning of September 5, 1967, the Central People's Broadcasting Station broadcast "extremely good news": Mao Zedong had returned to Beijing safely after touring the north and south of the country. On the same day, Jiang Qing delivered a speech at the "Conference of Representatives from Anhui to Beijing" (this speech was included in "Selected Speeches of Comrade Jiang Qing", People's Publishing House, 1968 edition), and once again issued a "call to battle". Jiang Qing said: In January and February of this year, there was such a trend, from the right side, to oppose the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. The current trend is to oppose the Prime Minister and the Central Committee from the extreme "left". "May 16th" is such a typical counter-revolutionary organization, you must be vigilant...

Earlier, there was such a wrong slogan called "catch a handful of people in the army".They arrested "a small number of people in the army" everywhere, and even robbed our regular army of weapons.Comrades, think about it, if there is no People's Liberation Army, can we sit in the Great Hall of the People and hold meetings? (Crowd: No!) If the field army is disrupted, if something happens, is that allowed? (Crowd: No!) So don't be fooled by this, that slogan is wrong.Because no matter the party, the government, or the military are all under the leadership of the party, we can only mention a small number of people in power in the party who are taking the capitalist road, and no other ones can be mentioned. Those are unscientific...

Just after Jiang Qing's speech, on September 8, Yao Wenyuan's "Comment on Two Books by Tao Zhu" was published. "People's Daily" published this article in three full pages, and other newspapers also reprinted it in full. This article was intended to criticize Tao Zhu's two books, but a paragraph that had nothing to do with those two books was suddenly inserted: "Now a small group of counter-revolutionaries are also adopting the method of Tao Zhu's counter-revolutionary double-faced ... However, the slogan of the extreme right actually blows up the evil wind of "doubting everything", bombards the proletarian headquarters, sows dissension, fishes in troubled waters, and tries to shake and split the proletarian headquarters headed by Chairman Mao, so as to achieve its ulterior and evil purpose , the so-called 'May 16th' organizers and manipulators are such a conspiring counter-revolutionary group." Although Yao Wenyuan's article did not specify who the "May 16th" organizers and manipulators were, the streets were full of Flying leaflets and eye-catching slogans are the best annotations:

"Down with Wang, Guan and Lin, the underworld backers of 'May 16'!" "If Wang, Guan, and Lin don't surrender, let them perish!" The most unbelievable thing is this slogan: "Wang Baqi was defeated, the incense in Guandi Temple was cut off, and the Lin's shop closed down!" It goes without saying that "Wang Baqi" refers to Wang Li, "Guandi Temple" refers to Guan Feng, and "Linjiapuzi" refers to Lin Jie. Tsinghua University's "Jinggangshan" newspaper under Kuai Dafu published a full-page article: "Where does the black wind come from——Look at the "Wang, Guan, and Lin" anti-party group in Tsinghua."

Please note: The "Wang, Guan, and Lin" here have been called "anti-Party groups".
