The printing of this eleventh edition coincides with the centenary of Tolstoy's birth, so the content of the book has been slightly revised.Added to it are the Torts correspondence published from 1910 onwards.The author adds a whole chapter to Tolstoy's relationship with thinkers in various Asian countries—China, Japan, India, Islam—and his relationship with Gandhi is especially important.We have also included the full text of a letter written by Tolstoy a month before his death, in which he published his entire program of struggle without resistance, which later gained a powerful effect for Gandhi.
