Chapter 87 Chapter Eight A Warning

Gandhi 马诃德夫·德赛 1547Words 2018-03-16
I am afraid that this chapter will have to continue with digressions. When I was experimenting with earth remedies, I was also experimenting with diet, and it may not be inappropriate to touch on this subject here, although there will be occasion to do so later. But now and in the future, I do not intend to go into detail on the subject of diet, because I have already published a series of articles in Gujarati in "Indian Opinion" on this subject a few years ago, and later published a separate volume , English is called "Health Guide".Of the few pamphlets I have written, this is the most popular in the East as well as in the West, and it is a matter of which I do not know much to this day. This book is written for readers of Indian Opinion.Yet I know that this pamphlet has had as much influence in the lives of many people in the East as in the West, who have never read Indian Opinion.Because they discussed it with me in the newsletter. It therefore seems necessary to say something here about this little booklet, and though I do not feel that the views in it need to be revised, I have made some important changes in my practice, which readers of that book will not be aware of. Know, and these, I think they should know.

Like all my other writings, this pamphlet has been written for a spiritual purpose which has always inspired my every action; When it can't be done, I feel very uneasy. I am sure that a man needs no milk at all except his mother's milk as a child. His food should contain nothing but sun-dried and dried fruit. From such fruits as the grape and the almond, he receives sufficient nourishment for his nerves and tissues. If a man can live on this food, the temperance of sexual and other passions will be easy. There is a proverb in India that says "what you eat is what you look like". My colleagues and I have personal experience and think it makes sense.

These points of view are discussed in detail in that book.Unfortunately, in India, however, I found myself having to disprove some of my theories in practice. When I was engaged in the recruiting movement in Al Qaeda, I almost died because I ate something wrong and broke my body.I tried my best to rebuild a broken machine without milk, but it didn't work.I turned to all the doctors, Hindu doctors and scientists I knew, to recommend alternatives to milk. Some people suggest to drink bean soup, some people suggest to drink "maohro" oil, and some people suggest to drink almond milk.I experimented desperately with these foods, but nothing got me out of my sickbed. The Hindu doctor quoted me many poems by Charok to show that religious concerns about diet have no place in therapeutics. So they can't help me stay alive unless I drink milk. And how are the people who don't hesitate to introduce me to beef tea and brandy help me stick to dairy-free food?

Because I swore I couldn't drink yellow milk or buffalo milk.Naturally, I swore to abstain from all milk, but since I had yellow and buffalo milk in mind when I swore, and because I still wanted to live, I had to hide it from myself and literally emphasize my I decided to drink milk, and when I began to drink goat's milk, I knew very well that the spirit of my oath was broken. Yet the thought of leading a movement against the Rowlette Act occupied me, and this increased my desire to live.As a result, one of the most important experiments of my life was completed. I know it's been argued that the soul has nothing to do with what one eats, since the soul itself neither eats nor drinks; saying it's not what you put in from the outside, but what you put out from the inside thing. There is undoubtedly some strength in this.Rather than examine the whole story, however, I will be content to proclaim my firm belief that, for those who are willing to live in the fear of God and see God face to face, abstinence in quantity and quality, yes and abstinence Thoughts are as important as words.

But on those points where my theory has failed, I not only give an explanation, but I also give a serious warning against its further application.I therefore appeal to those who do not drink milk on my theories, that they should not persevere in this experiment, unless they find it beneficial in every way, or on the advice of an experienced physician, as far as I am concerned. As a matter of experience, I still think that there is nothing light and nutritious to compare with milk for those who are dyspepsia and bedridden. If anyone has any experience in this field, after reading this chapter, he is willing to tell me based on his experience rather than the knowledge in books, that vegetables that can replace milk and have the same nutrition as milk and are easy to digest, then I Would be very grateful.
