Chapter 2 Section 2 My Self-taught History: Preface

my life is endless 梁漱溟 748Words 2018-03-16
The first series of my autobiography Section 2 My Self-taught History: Preface I think my life is an excellent example of self-study.It would be useless if I narrated to young friends the process that I have studied since I was a child, and even "taught me without a teacher" in this certain knowledge. So I set out to write "My Little History of Self-study".  Knowledge must be obtained by oneself, and then it will be really useful. On the contrary, those who have not asked for it are impractical and will not be useful. As the saying goes, "I can't sing the tune I learned", which means: Imitate and sing along with the master, it's not pleasant. You must absorb and integrate the tune you are singing into your own life, and then sing it freely to be pleasant to the ear.Knowledge and art are the same; knowledge and skills have not reached the point where they are integrated into one's own life, and knowledge is not true knowledge, and ability is not true ability.Really, it all depends on whether you can get it yourself. If you ask for it, you will get it; if you ask for it, you will get it. The words "self-study" are not meant for the few who have not been taught by a master; all those who have been taught by a master must also learn by themselves. But comparatively speaking, it seems that "self-study" means more if there is no mentor.  Like me, a middle school student who later served as a university lecturer is of course mostly self-study.There are also university professors we are familiar with. Although they have received specialized university education, they have changed their interests and coincidences, but they do not make full use of what they have learned. They prefer to teach other subjects. There are many of them; for self-study.Even most of the scholars who have never left their own disciplines, no one just sticks to what they learned at the beginning, instead of relying on their own learning. We believe that any individual's academic achievement is due to self-study.School education is nothing more than a start for the student to make it easier for him to learn by himself.Young people have to encourage them here. In addition, I would like to point out that although I have been studying continuously since I was a child, I do not focus on books, but rather everything I have learned in the environment of my time.I am not a scholar for the sake of learning, but mostly seek knowledge to solve intimate and practical problems in life. Therefore, in my self-study history, it reflects the social changes and the problems of the times in the past fifty years. If I use my self-report as the central clue to write about the changes in China in the past fifty years, it may be a very vivid and good historical material.Of course it is not written like this now, but it can still let young friends know many past facts, and understand some backgrounds of the society he lives in today.
