On October 15, Hu Shi was buried in the Old Village Cemetery in Nangang, Taipei.Although he failed to return to the beautiful and prosperous hometown of Huangshan, he finally slept in the soil of his motherland.On the door of the tomb is engraved with the four characters "Moral Learning Julong" written by Chiang Kai-shek.On the high slope on the right, there is a memorial pavilion built by the Peking University Alumni Association; on the left, there is a bronze bust built by the Chinese Public Alumni Association.Inscribed on the tombstone: This is the tomb of Mr. Hu Shi (21 B.C.-51 R.C.).

This man who worked so hard for academic and cultural progress, for the freedom of thought and speech, for the honor of the nation, and for the happiness of mankind, to the point of death, rests here now!
