Cai Yuanpei wrote a lot of couplets in his life, most of which are easy to comprehend, do not need out-of-the-ordinary classics, and are personal and considerate.Mr. Yang Changji taught ethics at Peking University during his lifetime, and he had a close personal relationship with Cai. When Yang passed away in 1920, Cai Wan said in a couplet: "There is substance in words and ethics in deeds. In terms of personality, you can be called a gentleman; you never get tired of learning, never get tired of teaching, and cherish the school. Lost this good teacher." After the Revolution of 1911, Cai Yuanpei once served as the chief education officer of the Nanjing Provisional Government, and worked with Fan Yuanlian (1876-1927) in Xiangyin, Hunan. When Fan passed away, Cai Wanyi said: "Education experts, I still remember working together with sincerity 16 years ago; science is advanced, but hundreds of community members feel sorry for the people." Director of the Science Society, has done a lot of work to popularize science. The "Science", "Science Pictorial", and "Science Quarterly" run by the agency have a great influence in the academic world, so the next couplet refers to them.

When Cai was in charge of Peking University, he hired Lu Xun to lecture on the history of Chinese novels and literary theory. And Lu Xun once said: "If a child grows up, if he has no talent, he can find some small things to make a living. He must not be an empty writer or artist." The pertinence is extremely strong, which shows the courage of the author. Cai Yuanpei also lamented the new poet Xu Zhimo: "Talking is poetry, action is poetry, and life's deeds are poetry. The meaning of poetry permeates, and there is a paradise for everything; you can die by boat, drive by car, and sit in a small room. Death, death by accident on an airplane, need not be regarded as treachery."

Cai Yuanpei also appealed to Mr. Sun Yat-sen and said: "It is the God of Liberty in China, the three peoples and five powers, overthrowing the tyranny of thousands of years of history; I hope that the deceased will work together to complete one or two unfinished achievements of Mr. Cai Yuanpei wrote a pair of couplets for the Guyue Library: "The more I learn, the more I learn, and the immortality of Silou is in the collection." Hanging in the foyer of the library. Cai Yuanpei believed that Tao Lengyue's paintings were both Chinese and Western.
