Ma Yifu and Li Shutong have known each other for decades. In addition to talking about Buddhism and Taoism, they also have a lot of contacts in calligraphy and piano art, but what they talk about most is Buddhism. In this regard, although Li Shutong is older, he has always regarded Ma Yifu as a teacher.Entrusted by Haichao Temple in Hangzhou, Ma Yifu invited Hongyi to preside over the "Buddha Seven". Judging from Zhu Kezhen's diary, in order to hire Ma Yifu to give lectures, Zhu Kezhen took great pains. Not only did he visit many times and asked someone to persuade him to come to give lectures, but he also planned to choose a place outside the school and let students go to his residence to attend lectures, so as to meet his request of "applying for work at the door".Regrettably, because Ma Yifu was always inflexible, the two parties could not reach an agreement. In this regard, Zhu Kezhen thought that "the invitation to Ma Yifu can be said to be benevolent and righteous"; at the same time, Ma Yifu also left him with the impression of "good knowledge, but poor worldly experience".

Ma Yifu wants to set up an academy in the beautiful Taoyuan resort.Chiang Kai-shek, who had admired Ma Yifu for a long time, was very supportive when he heard this idea, and soon proposed an invitation to Ma Yifu to run a school in the name of the Executive Yuan, and allocated a school fund.Ma Yifu put forward a "Purpose and Brief Method of Calling the Academy", trying to preside over a purely academic academy set up entirely by his own wishes.Chiang Kai-shek adopted his opinion, personally met Ma Yifu in Chongqing and hosted a banquet for him. Ma Yifu and others set up the Fuxing Academy, and the trip from Chongqing to Leshan was quite beautiful. The authorities specially arranged a bus to pick it up, and the local people organized the road to welcome it.Quite ancient customs.

In the early days of liberation, Chen Yi visited Ma Yifu in Hangzhou. At that time, Ma Yifu was taking a lunch break. His family wanted to wake him up, but Chen Yi stopped him.The family invited Chen Yi into the house, but Chen Yi stood under the eaves and waited for fear of disturbing Ma Yifu's rest. After a while, it began to drizzle, and when Ma Yifu woke up and hurried in, Chen Yi's coat, hat, shoes and socks were all wet.Ma Yifu was moved by Chen Yi's words and deeds, and was finally invited to serve as a member of the Shanghai Cultural Relics Management Committee, and later served as the first curator of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum of Culture and History.

In 1957, Zhou Enlai accompanied Soviet leader Voroshilov to visit Hangzhou, and together they visited Ma Yifu in Huagang Jiangzhuang, West Lake. In 1958, when the whole country was developing industries, Hangzhou Iron and Steel Works was established in Zhejiang. The factory was built near Maling Mountain in the mid-level area. At that time, it was planned to level the hill of Ma Ling Mountain and build a steel plant attached to a coking plant. This required the relocation of the Ma family's tomb buried there.Ma Yifu was overwhelmed by the news. After Premier Zhou Enlai learned of this situation from the Zhejiang report, he telegraphed the relevant leaders of Zhejiang, instructing: "Mr. Ma's tomb and self-employed living quarters must be protected. Try to replant the trees that have been cut down!" This Instructions were passed from the Provincial Political Consultative Conference to the Party Committee of the Hangzhou Iron and Steel Plant, so the original plan to flatten the mountain was revised, Ma's tomb was kept, and at the same time, the cadres of the factory were mobilized to plant trees in the Ma's cemetery. After Ma Yifu heard the news, he was deeply moved and thanked Premier Zhou very much.

On Ma Yifu’s 80th birthday in 1962, Premier Zhou Enlai, in recognition of this scholar who had made outstanding contributions to the preservation and development of Chinese culture, allocated a special fund of 10,000 yuan as a fund for Mr. Ma’s book engraving and celebrated his birthday when the country’s finances were relatively difficult at that time. In 1964, Mao Zedong hosted a banquet for Ma Yifu in Beijing. Ma was the guest of honor, while Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai sat on both sides. In his later years, Liang Shuming recalled visiting Ma Yifu in Hangzhou when he was teaching in the Philosophy Department of Peking University.Liang Shuming respected Ma Yifu, "I pay homage to Mr. Yanding Lane. When you enter, bow down and bow down."When Liang Shuming talked about learning with Ma Yifu, he called himself a postgraduate. The frank Ma Yifu pointed out that Liang Shuming's study of Indian philosophy only focused on merit, but ignored the root of xinxing, which still needs to be discussed, which Liang Shuming could not forget for a long time. Before leaving, Ma Yifu gave Liang Shuming two ancient woodcut books: "The Great Instructions of the First Sages" and "Zhi Tan Zhi Zhuan".Liang Shuming regarded it as a treasure and kept it by his side all the time.
