Ma Yinchu, together with Liu Dajun, He Lian, and Fang Xianting, were called the four major Chinese economists in the Republic of China.Justin Yifu Lin and Hu Shudong said in "A Hundred Years Review of Chinese Economics": "They have a common characteristic. They have received strict and systematic training in economic theory and methods abroad, and at the same time they all have a strong sense of saving the country and the people. Use advanced theoretical methods to study and solve the local economic problems in China at that time." Ma Yinchu was arrested, imprisoned, and placed under house arrest by the Kuomintang authorities in the 1940s because of his outspokenness. He was also intimidated and beaten by special agents of the Investigation and Statistics Bureau of the Military Commission of the Nationalist Government. However, Ma Yinchu did not change his original intention.Guo Moruo once praised: "You Ma Yinchu, you are a resounding 'copper pea' that can't be steamed, cooked, or pounded." Prestige and status can be compared with Lu Xun, the giant in the literary world in the past. In the process of fighting for national freedom and national liberation, Ma Yinchu, like Lu Xun, suffered the hatred of evil forces, but he strode forward under various oppressions. Always dare to speak, dare to laugh, dare to be angry, the attitude has been consistent for decades."

In the third summer after the smashing of the "Gang of Four", Hu Yaobang, the head of the central organization responsible for rehabilitating unjust, false and wrongly decided cases, carefully reviewed the materials about Ma Yinchu, and said emotionally: "If Chairman Mao was willing to listen to Ma Yinchu's words, China's population today How could it break through the one billion mark! Just one wrong person will add hundreds of millions of people. We will never make such a mistake again. The Communist Party should swear: never again will it punish scientists and intellectuals!"

Chongqing's "Xinhua Daily" sent a birthday couplet for Ma Yinchu's 60th birthday: "Be unyielding and not lewd, and dare to speak out and anger to see the spirit." On March 30, 1941, on the 60th birthday of Ma Yinchu, Zhou Enlai, Dong Biwu and Deng Yingchao jointly presented a couplet: Tao Li Zenghua, sitting in the tent without cranes; playing piano and books as companions, and supporting the bed with turtles. Xu Zhihong, the current president of Peking University, called it "the eternal light of Peking University" at the commemorative symposium, and highly praised: "Mr. Ma Yinchu's character not only inherits the spirit of Peking University, but also develops the spirit of Peking University."

Song Yunjiao: I have met many, many principals over the past sixty years, and the one I admire the most is Ma Lao, the principal Ma Yinchu. In my heart, no principal can surpass him. According to the researchers, Ma Yinchu "single-handedly" challenged the mainstream ideology in the 1950s, which is in line with the "spirit of Peking University". There is a book about the president of Peking University, Ma Yinchu wrote the article, and the title is impressive: Die for the truth, great!Living for the truth is difficult!
