When Ma Yinchu was born, a fortune teller said to his parents: "This son is so precious—five horses (born in the year of the horse, moon, horse, day, horse, and surnamed Ma)". Before Liberation, there were many kidnappers in Sheng County, and most of the tied meat tickets were hidden in the Shanghai Concession. For this reason, the house arrest in the concession ordered the hotel to interrogate people from Sheng County carefully.Once Ma Yinchu went to stay in a hotel in the concession, claiming he was from Shengxian County. When the hotel registrant heard this, he was afraid of causing trouble, so he refused.

In 1916, Ma Yinchu became a professor and head of the Department of Economics of National Peking University. At that time, most of the professors of Peking University came to the school to give lectures by rickshaw, but Ma Yinchu took the big carriage of the Bank of China. At the beginning of 1919, the Peking University Professor Council decided to abolish the deans of arts and sciences, and proposed the establishment of a provost to unify the three subjects of arts, science, and law.The power of the provost is below the principal and above the professors, so it has become the focus of contention for professors of various subjects, especially the teachers of the two subjects of arts and science, which have the strongest professors, are determined to win. Finally, after discussion, it was decided to launch a candidate for each subject. At that time, Chen Daqi was introduced in liberal arts, Yu Tongkui in science, and Ma Yinchu in law. Finally, in the formal election of the council, in order to avoid unnecessary disputes, President Cai Yuanpei voted for Ma Yinchu. Therefore, Ma Yinchu, who was going to mourn at that time, became the first dean in the history of Peking University.

On July 3, 1922, Hu Shi recalled in his diary: "At that time, the original proposal for the dean was limited to the combination of arts and sciences, and did not care about the law department. Yin Mo was afraid that I would be elected, so he used tricks to make Mr. Cai in the election. On the same day, I called to add the directors of the two departments of politics and economics; on the one hand, Yin Mo came to my house in person, saying that the century-old (Chen Daqi) and others meant that they did not want me to be elected as the dean for the first time. .I didn't want to be elected, but I couldn't bear this kind of method;...but then Yin Mo and Yin Chu became enemies again, and it's still going on to this day."

In the early days of liberation, the Chinese Department of Peking University held a wedding for Teacher Guo Liangfu. As the principal, Ma Yinchu took the time to congratulate.Guo Liangfu was just an ordinary teacher at the time. Seeing the principal coming to congratulate him in person, he was very excited, so he toasted the principal with the bride.Ma Yinchu was invited to make an impromptu speech: "I think you, the bride, should feel at ease, because according to the groom's name, he must be a good husband." Ma Lao's humor caused the audience to laugh. Among Peking University students, Ma Yinchu has always been a legend. First, his humility and dedication; second, his respect for teachers and love for students; He respects the Communist Party and does not break the rules. For example, he never expresses his position on some political principles. He always says, "This matter should be consulted with Mr. Jiang (Longji). We have a division of labor, and he does it better than me." .

During Ma Yinchu's tenure as the president of Peking University, Jian Bozan served as the head of the history department and was in charge of the Peking University journal.Once Ma Yinchu wrote an article about bodybuilding and health preservation, and handed it over to the school magazine department.Seeing this, Bo Zan frowned and said, "How can this article be published in the school magazine?" He resolutely refused to publish it.Ma Yinchu had an opinion. Once, he said at a meeting: "My article is quite good, why not let it be published?" After all, Jian Bozan ignored the words of the "superior" and still refused to let it be published. Ma Yinchu had no choice. It can be seen that the atmosphere at Peking University was still very democratic.

In the autumn of 1956, Zhang Tingqian taught the history of Chinese literature at Peking University.Zhang is from Shaoxing, Zhejiang, a student of Lu Xun. He is addicted to alcohol and only drinks rice wine. He admits that he must drink enough alcohol in the morning before going to class, especially in winter, so his class must be the third and fourth periods in the morning. One day, Zhang talked about Liu Yong's poem "Yu Linling", and chanted and explained it. When it came to the word "wine", Mr. Zhang talked endlessly about the excellent poems about the artistic conception after drinking, the ancient wine rituals and wine utensils, Such as "raise the case with the eyebrows" and so on, his face flushed when he said it, and he danced with a high spirit. The spirit of the teacher is high, and the atmosphere of the students is active.Just at the climax, the classroom door opened gently.Song Yunjiao arrived late that day, so he could only sit in the seat near the door. The door of the lecture theater in the Wenshi Building opened in the middle of the east side of the classroom. He looked up and saw that it was Ma Yinchu, who was about to greet him, but Ma Yinchu half-bent to signal to keep quiet and to continue listening to the class.Under the stage, Mr. Ma was listening to the class quietly, while on the stage, Mr. Zhang continued to talk non-stop.After listening for three to five minutes, Mr. Ma leaned over and asked Song: Who is this?Song told him it was Mr. Zhang Tingqian.Ask again: Shaoxing people?Song nodded affirmatively. Finally Ma Yinchu asked him: What do you think of the speech.Song said the explanation was wonderful. He smiled and said: "Mr. Zhang is really huge!" Then he turned around and left the classroom.

Ma Yinchu seldom flipped through the handouts in his lectures, and when he spoke excitedly, he would often step off the podium, wave his arms, and speak densely, like a shower. Some students sitting in the front row said: "Listening to Mr. Ma's class, you must hold an umbrella." When Ma Yinchu preached his "New Population Theory" to teachers and students in Beijing, and talked about the reasons for China's rapid population growth, he concluded several points, three of which are: first, a large number of monks and nuns returned to vulgar life, which increased productivity; The standard of living is low, and the birth rate of vegetarian people is higher than that of meat-eating people. Third, there are no electric lights in most rural areas of China. They lie down early and go to bed early, so it is strange that they don't have many children.

Cai Yuanpei, Wu Zhihui, Shao Yuanchong, Zhang Mojun and his wife, and Ma Yinchu came to visit Yandang Mountain.Cai Yuanpei was born in the Imperial Academy of the Qing Dynasty, Wu Zhihui was a veteran of the Republic of China, and his literary and eloquent skills were excellent. Shao Yuanchong, Zhang Mojun, and Ma Yinchu were not ordinary people, they were undoubtedly elegant people. That day when they came to Yuntan Waterfall in Tiyun Valley, Ma Yinchu got hot from walking, and loved the cool water in the pool, so he jumped into the pool to swim. Cai Yuanpei laughed and said, "Does this pool have a name?" Ma Tan."

The "Cultural Revolution" began, and extreme leftist actions to "destroy the four olds" appeared in society. One day after breakfast, Ma Yinchu called his family into the living room, and said in a calm tone as much as possible: "Recently, I have been thinking about one thing, and I am always hesitating. Now I have decided. Don't go out today. Our whole family will do it by ourselves." Break the 'Four Olds'. It is a pity and very painful to do this, but what can we do if we don't do it? It is better to burn it yourself than to let others burn it!" So pieces of precious cultural relics and materials accumulated by Ma Yinchu over the years sent to the boiler.

Ma Yinchu has always insisted on taking cold water baths. He gave a speech at Peking University, talking about the joy of insisting on cold water baths for decades. He even had to get a bucket of water to take a shower on the train. "When the cold water is stimulated, the dirt in the sweat pores will come out gone." Ma Yinchu's son, Ma Benchu, said that in 1961, at the age of 80, Ma Yinchu went back to his hometown, Chengxian County, for an inspection, and he contracted pneumonia from taking a cold bath, and then he stopped this habit. The students of Peking University recalled the situation when they listened to President Ma Yinchu's speech when they were enrolled, and they felt "there was a burst of enthusiasm and unadorned sincerity".And when they saw President Ma, their first impression was, "He was in surprisingly good health. He was already old at that time. Although his white hair was sparse, he had a ruddy childlike face. He still often went to Xishan to climb mountains on holidays, and he insisted on washing all the year round." Take a cold bath, and on the banks of the river where the wind is biting cold in winter in Beijing, old people jump into the cold water naked.”
