In the late period of the Anti-Japanese War, Ma Yinchu was under house arrest by Chiang Kai-shek in Geleshan, Chongqing. Chiang did not allow Ma Yinchu to teach or publish articles, which cut off Ma Yinchu's source of income. After learning about the situation, Zhou Enlai instructed Xinhua Daily: Ma Yinchu is a patriot who can stand the test, has backbone and a sense of justice, and we must support him.Since then, Ma Yinchu's manuscripts returned by "Central Daily" were published in "Xinhua Daily" and paid the highest standard of remuneration, which made Ma Yinchu, who was in crisis, unforgettable for life.

Ma Yinchu rejoiced at the birth of New China, and actively participated in the planning and construction of the Republic. On March 25, 1949, at the ceremony welcoming Chairman Mao Zedong, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De and other leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China from Xibaipo to Peiping, Ma Yinchu ran to the jeep in which Zhou Enlai was riding, regardless of the order of the venue, and shouted to Zhou Enlai: "Follow According to your instructions, I have arrived in Peiping safely." The joy was beyond words. In 1959, the whole country launched a crusade against Ma Yinchu's new population theory. At this time, Zhou Enlai approached Ma Yinchu and earnestly asked Ma Yinchu to write a review, but Ma Yinchu refused. But after refusing, Ma Yinchu felt guilty towards Zhou Enlai.A few days later, he wrote an article for the "New Construction" magazine, and he specially added a paragraph: "Say a few words to those who love me and express my heartfelt thanks": "Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to another good friend, and express my heartfelt thanks to you." I apologize. When I was suffering in Chongqing, he did everything possible to rescue me; I was called by him when I went north from Hong Kong to participate in politics in 1949. I am grateful for all these, and I still remember them in my heart. But this encounter When it came to academic issues, I did not accept his sincere advice, and I felt very unhappy, because I was quite sure of my theory, I had to persist, and I had to uphold my academic dignity, so I had no choice but to refuse to review. I hope my friend will still If you are modest, don't take my refusal to review as disobedience."

At the beginning of 1960, Ma Yinchu was forced to resign as the president of Peking University because of "New Population Theory".At this time, Premier Zhou came forward again and arranged Ma Yinchu to the Dongcheng District Group of the Beijing CPPCC.This was a great comfort to Ma Yinchu who was suddenly knocked down from the pinnacle of the political and academic arena. Ma Yinchu's son Ma Benyin recalled: Families like theirs could not escape disaster during the "Cultural Revolution".However, he clearly remembers: One day after the "Cultural Revolution" just started, a police station chief in the area suddenly came to his home and told him: "According to Premier Zhou's instructions, no one is allowed to break into or ransack your house." Yes, if someone comes in, you can notify us in time." Afterwards, Ma Yinchu and his family knew that it was the protection list of democrats personally drawn up by the Prime Minister that protected them.It is precisely because of Premier Zhou's love for Ma Yinchu that Ma Yinchu was spared too much impact during the ten-year "Cultural Revolution" turmoil.

In 1971, the 90-year-old Ma Yinchu began to have blood in his stool.Beijing Hospital may have diagnosed rectal cancer, and the family and the hospital disagreed on whether to undergo surgery or chemotherapy. For this reason, Ma Yinchu's wife made a request report to the State Council. After seeing the report, Premier Zhou immediately gave instructions: the patient is willing to undergo surgery, and the family members also agree. Also report to him.The order was sent to Beijing Hospital on the same day.Since then, the Ministry of Health has organized an expert consultation group specifically for Ma Yinchu. In May 1972, under the personal care of Zhou Enlai, relevant parties arranged a careful operation plan for Ma Yinchu. The operation was quite successful, and Ma Yinchu lived another ten years because of it.Later, Ma Yinchu often said: "Zhou Enlai is my savior. He saved me twice, once in 1942 and once in 1972."

In the summer of 1975, Premier Zhou Enlai was still thinking about Ma Yinchu even though he was seriously ill, and cared about his postoperative condition and medication.Zhou Enlai also sent two health care doctors around him to treat Ma Yinchu.Zhou Enlai's meticulous care made Ma Yinchu and his family feel warm. On January 8, 1976, the sad news of the death of Premier Zhou Enlai came, and Ma Yinchu remained silent for several days. On January 11, Ma Yinchu received a notice to attend the farewell ceremony for Zhou Enlai's body. He got up early in the morning, without food or water, and went to the condolence hall accompanied by his family. When seeing Zhou Enlai's body, Ma Yinchu, who was sitting in a wheelchair, burst into tears and silently bowed to Zhou Enlai's body.Ma Yinchu followed the crowd of condolences around the body and still refused to leave, so the staff had to ask Mr. Ma to go around the body again.Walking out of the condolence hall, Ma Yinchu asked his children to help him back, and bowed three times affectionately to the body of Premier Zhou.Ma Benyin said that at this moment, his father may have thought of all the scenes when he met the Prime Minister, and perhaps he had to choose such a way to express his lifelong gratitude to the Prime Minister.
